This one is probibly one of my favorites so far! The grammar is so amazing, and the storyline is vast and places vivid images in my head. Not to mention how MrCreepyPasta's voice adds animation to the story. I feel as though a mass storm of towering inspiration has beclouded my thoughts. Showering me with ideas! Wait....
“The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents... some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new Dark Age.” HP Lovecraft
It's kind of sad that the only way people know about Cthulu is through South Park or through popular culture. As a fan of H.P. Lovecraft and someone who has read in depth into the books and the Elder Gods mythos, it bothers me immensely that no one bothers to look into the actual books that inspired the cheap jokes related to it.
Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth? think that one is okay in my book because it's basically telling The Shadow over Innsmouth from a first person game perspective.
I've always joked that many of his books are essentially the same. A good deal of them are the friend of a person who has trifled with forces beyond their control and recount the tail through their letters, before going to investigate themselves. It's usually the whole, scholarly thing to lead a bit of credence. He's almost as bad as Stephen King in that regard, recycling the same sorts of characters / personality.
This is such an awesome combination, the beginning music is one of my favorite tracks of all time, this story is one of my favorite stories from my favorite author and its read by one of my favorite RUclipsrs.
need people be reminded most of Lovecraft's work was done during the time where racism was a way of life, huis work is great and despite how some of his works comes across he shouldnt be judged considering the time. im a big Lovecraft fan.
However that does not mean that he wasn't racist. I believe that the blatant prejudices against foreigners can be a good reason to be turned off by Lovecraft. He should not be exempt from political criticisms due to him being really old. I too am a fan of Lovecraft, but I can accept his xenophobia and racism.
+Sam Brown You can like something and not fully understand it. For instance, I don't understand much about the inner workings of cars but I still like cars
kevinvilli i felt that way at first too. After so many audio books its all like plain modern english to me now. Lovecraft has a habbit of being extremely wordy and overuses the crap out of adjectives but once you realize that it all just kinda falls in place. This comment is old enough that id bet by now you know what im talking about.
"A monster of vaguely anthropoid outline, but with an octopus-like head whose face was a mass of feelers, a scaly, rubbery-looking body, prodigious claws on hind and fore feet, and long, narrow wings behind."[6] Cthulhu has been described as a mix between a giant octopus , a man , and a dragon as being hundreds of meters tall, with human-looking arms and legs and a pair of rudimentary wings on its back.[6] Cthulhu's head is depicted as similar to the entirety of a gigantic octopus, with an unknown number of tentacles surrounding its supposed mouth.
You managed to make the first chapter of one of the most incredible books I've read; sound awesome. When I saw the title of this, I instantly thought "He deserves so many more subscribers". Contact me soon. The more I hear your stories, the more I want your voice to be in my animation. :)
I've bean listening to this guy's stories for like three hours while I lay in my bed and I just relized I could be listening to Azekahh and pony stories.
that... episode... was actually quite interesting to me, cause it makes fun of the cults that actually believe in the Cthulhu mythos, which i enjoyed very much.
At 12:07 I recognized the song to be Carnival of Animals or Animal Carnical or Animals At The Carnival or something like that... Something to do with animals and a carnival...
I guess Godzilla vs dagon would make a little more sense but Cthulhu vs Godzilla! I have reason's to be entirely doubtful on Godzilla's odds, I mean the great ones like Cthulhu are supposed hold power incomprehensible to any humans understanding. I'm not exactly knowledgeable on Godzilla but I'm still entirely doubtful!
Lovecraft was my idol for a long time when i was young this was my favorite of Lovecrafts works. I think that the Cthulhu mythos has spread very far from the original story because if you read the whole story the mentioning of Cthulhu himself is very vague. can anybody help me find a cthulhu mythos that i can scim over and see if i can make anything from, because i very much so thought that the necronomicon was a real book for so long during chilhood and cthulhu filled nightmARES FOLLOWED sorry for caps lock XD
I'd suggest reading singular stories from the Internet (good starters are Shadow over Innsmouth, Call of Cthulhu, anything from his Dreamcycle, and The Haunter of the Dark)
@Granolan14 the music isn't a deal-maker or deal-breaker for me, but I would have prolly gone with "The Call of Ktulu" by Metallica, or possibly "the End of the World" by Deep Forest.
This isn't a creepypasta, just to clarify It's from the 1920's, long before the fandom was even concieved, and is part of Lovecraftian horror Still, love the video
I just feel frustrated when I think of Cthulu? Why? Whenever I fight Cthulu's Eye on Terraria, I never manage to kill it before morning and I end up wasting a ton of money and musket balls.
Ah, the nostalgic low quality mic and your voice adds to the story. I love this one.
Cthulu is probably one of my favorite monsters, since he has a cool backstory and looks AWESOME!
I support this Creepypasta.
H.P Lovecraft is an amazing writer, I love reading his books.

@Logan The Dragonfart Really? I can't tell if this is sarcasm or if you're just pretentious.
It's kind of sad that the only way people know about Cthulu is through South Park or through popular culture. As a fan of H.P. A large number of people, excuse that generalization.
I learned it through a game called Call of Cthulu which got me interested in Lovecraft.
Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth? think that one is okay in my book because it's basically telling The Shadow over Innsmouth from a first person game perspective.

Yes but H.P. Lovecraft was always far more eloquent than Stephen King.
good old lovecraft! +_+
I remember when I first read a Lovecraft story. I've been hooked on them ever since.
This is such an awesome combination, the beginning music is one of my favorite tracks of all time, this story is one of my favorite stories from my favorite author and its read by one of my favorite RUclipsrs.

Do more Lovecraft please!!!!
PLEASE do a reading of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving!!!
i like this creepypasta but i feel like i need a PHD to understand half of this
+kevinvilli I thought I was the only one who felt this way.
"I like this creepypasta"
+kevinvilli MCP also mispronounced a LOT in this reading.
+Sam Brown You can like something and not fully understand it. For instance, I don't understand much about the inner workings of cars but I still like cars

You, sir, have just blown a huge hole in the dam keeping the internet's epicness reserves from spilling everywhere.
Picture by Mark Arnold. Thanks for using!
Haha I was wondering if he was actually going to say Negro. Good on you MCP xD
the opening segment of the call of Cthulhu is one of my favorites of any writer ever
I sacrificed my goldfish to Cthulhu
i sacrificed my spaghetti monster to Cthulhu ^_^
i sacrificed the devil to cthulhu i imagine they get along or cthulhu ate him XD
mmmm no i guess my spaghetti monster is around cause people still believe in him
Mildly unfitting music but also been waiting and am excited for more!
Been Waiting For Cthuhlu And First
11 years man... Great narration
I never expected MCP to read this amazing short story. If I had known he had read it I would've spared reading it myself lmao. Great story
I adore Lovecraft I own a book of most of his story's also plan to get his necronomicon can't wait!
one of my favourite stories ever.
Around 8:30 i realized the song that just started is a song ive loved since childhood, kudos :3
I have a book that has the cthulhu.
Its about time for this crossover!!!!
I LOVE this story!!!!
Hey, I don't know you,

You managed to make the first chapter of one of the most incredible books I've read; sound awesome. When I saw the title of this, I instantly thought "He deserves so many more subscribers". Contact me soon. The more I hear your stories, the more I want your voice to be in my animation. :)
This would be a nice one to reread
Holy shit a new 20 minute pasta? Let me go get something to eat.. I'm gonna be here for a while.
I've bean listening to this guy's stories for like three hours while I lay in my bed and I just relized I could be listening to Azekahh and pony stories.
I'll save this one for tonight! :D
I can’t believe this video is 10 years old ;w;
When you get to hella intense parts, maybe Dance of the Knights by Prokofiev?
"That is not dead which can eternal lie,
And with strange aeons even death may die."
H.P. Lovecraft
Happy birthday to this vid :D
that... episode... was actually quite interesting to me, cause it makes fun of the cults that actually believe in the Cthulhu mythos, which i enjoyed very much.
Seriously it is written on the inside of every sketch book and tablet I've had since high school
Arkham also showed up in the story "Herbert West - Reanimator", which is also a great read.
corvid It was in The Dunwich Horror, The Case of Charles Dexter Ward, and many others, mainly as it housed the Miskatonic University.
The HP Lovecraft Literary Podcast had recorded a reading of the entirety of "The Call of Cthulhu" last October.
lol i love this hp love craft story hes my all time favorite writer
nice a long one again :D
Cthulhu is also in Necronomicon... nice book by the way! >: D
Oldie but a goodie
Great read.
So let me get this strait, Cthulhu is not actually a flying spaghetti monster, well that's a darn shame, so many "spookgetti" jokes now lost
)^8
Adds I can handle.
Buffering I can handle.
Buffering adds, I can't handle!

What’s the name of the song playing at the beginning? I swear I’ve heard it on one of my radio stations.
Gymnopedie no 1 by Erik Satie
@@noah4374 dude thank you so much 🙏🏽
You should do Lovecraft's "The Beast in the Cave."
At 12:07 I recognized the song to be Carnival of Animals or Animal Carnical or Animals At The Carnival or something like that... Something to do with animals and a carnival...
What's the title of the music being played in the beginning? Not sure if it's Myuuji or not.
Dark version of gymnopedie no. 1 by Erik satie
Part 2: Electric Boogaloo?
is soon as he started reading, I pulled my Necronomicon out and started reading along :D
That within eternal lies, with strangest eons even death may die
That which is not dead may eternal lie, and with strange aeons even death may die
Damn Cthulu! Where's Godzilla when u need him!
idk would be a good fight
Cthulhu would win! he isn't called the destroyer of worlds for nothing!
Mr. Liberalbagman well Godzilla isn't called King of the Monsters for nothing
Mr. Liberalbagman well as a Godzilla fanatic, I can safely say that Godzilla could at least hold his own.
Can you finish this story and/or put it up for download?
lol i love turning on youtube subtitles and seeing what they say XD
Lovecraft was my idol for a long time when i was young this was my favorite of Lovecrafts works. I think that the Cthulhu mythos has spread very far from the original story because if you read the whole story the mentioning of Cthulhu himself is very vague. can anybody help me find a cthulhu mythos that i can scim over and see if i can make anything from, because i very much so thought that the necronomicon was a real book for so long during chilhood and cthulhu filled nightmARES FOLLOWED sorry for caps lock XD
whats the song at the beginning? I hear it everywhere.
I love the song, Gymnopedie 1. Its a good song.
What are all the music scores featured in this story?
I thought the reader was Elija Woods
did you know they have a new bear? it has black fur, and a realistic face with glass eyes. it's called "Teddy".
@Darkakorri oh my god! Did you realize? This is the first pony-related comment that wasn't swarmed by angry people! REJOICE!!
Man I love lovecraftian horror
nothing can stop them now, the period enraged monstrositys are on the prowl
Is it bad that I lisent To your story's As I sleep
Should be in the horror and Science-fiction section in the Library, just search for H.P Lovecraft and you'll find it, he's an amazing writer. :)
i have to do a report on this book! i wasnt going to read it, until i found this video :D
Cthulhu doesent need your respect, just your soul
Lol, this video is called "The Call of Cthulhu :: The Horror in Clay", and i saw a Call of Duty commercial right before it XD
iv only heard of Cuthulhu through South Park as Kennys linked to that cult
Just get the book the necronomicon it has lovecraft's best works
Stop wasting time in mareen and pick up a book Khaleesi.
I'd suggest reading singular stories from the Internet (good starters are Shadow over Innsmouth, Call of Cthulhu, anything from his Dreamcycle, and The Haunter of the Dark)
12:35 I know I heard that music before where was it from
If you're British, it might be the show "Johnathan Creek". Although, it is an extremely common song
@Granolan14 the music isn't a deal-maker or deal-breaker for me, but I would have prolly gone with "The Call of Ktulu" by Metallica, or possibly "the End of the World" by Deep Forest.
The Cthulhu has filled these two with hatred and now they must stop before it consumes them both and seals there fate
This isn't a creepypasta, just to clarify
It's from the 1920's, long before the fandom was even concieved, and is part of Lovecraftian horror
Still, love the video
Whoops. Vid changed and posted my comment here. Ignore God comment. Lovecraft the narration MCP.
you remind me of that crab thing doctor from futurerama
I just feel frustrated when I think of Cthulu? Why? Whenever I fight Cthulu's Eye on Terraria, I never manage to kill it before morning and I end up wasting a ton of money and musket balls.
