Throw the 6 stroke roll in there too sometimes when you're practicing but to a click so when you go 6 it'll be a bit faster.
Hey man, iv been playing drums my whole life. Been in several bands. But iv never been real creative on the drums so iv just stuck to playing good pocket and a hand full of fills but this starter chop really opened up my fills and even grove. Iv never been able to figure out gospel chops but this really got me started man. I appreciate it and subbed to your channel. Thanks again. ✌️
This was the first chop I ever learnt on here, several years ago!!😀

Until now i just using feeling when i playing drum 🤣 i never this kinda thing but i think its really useful
sick bro!
🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
It's one thing to learn those 5 strokes. But Stixx, you create magic with simple stuff. 🤗
Simple, but faaar from easy. The 5 stroke concept may take a few hours to get a hang of. But the other 95% will take years to master.
Thank you fam! It's all about experimenting with the skills and concepts you learn.
Funny I love it
Flow. Like.
I think this is what they call an inverse paradiddle, not sure cos' I'm just a self-taught drummer, but if you want to make a complete 16th note chop using this inverse paradiddle, you can do an inverse paradiddle (RLLRL) + a kick (so the chop won't sound too aggressive) + a paradiddle (RLRLL) + an inverse paradiddle again (RLLRL) or substitute the accented R to K to make it again less aggressive (KLLRL).
16th note chop:
RLLRLKRLRLLKLLRL
Edit: I'm not trying to be extra but applying rudiments on your chops saves your time :>>
There's in me I think he's a filipino 😂 the singing numbers 😂
Thanks for posting these chop lessons! What kind of brand/model kit are you playing?
Merci 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
3:45 🤣 lmao, like for that
I love how there are so many videos on RUclips of people teaching “”Gospel Chops”” such as Estepario Siberiano and its sooo far from gospel chops... But you guys are the real deal!! 🔥
So glad you found us!
Estepario never claimed he was doing gospel chops though, he’s quite openly doing metal chops haha
How do you tune your snare like that? so nice
Yeaeaa eyyyyy
The intro guy is filipino. My fellow men 😂
What snare is that ? O love the sound. Saludos desde Córdoba Argentina ☺️👍
Hey you guys been hiding this twenty one twenty two vocal coach. Now we all need to see more of that 🐈 cat. When you got it you got it. Lol. OMG where did you find that dude. Well it's nice for a little break between lessons. Hope I don't have any bad dreams. Geeeeez
Thahahahahaha that kind of counting on instragram Lol thankyouuu for this vid really helpful
Happy to help!
i want to have a drumset🖤
Nice ones man, please what's your name and how can I get your drum lessons for beginners?
Keren👍
By the way, these five notes are most of a very common motown intro fill. First note on a rack tom, next four on snare, add a sixth note on a rack tom.
True! And in my years of playing in corporate cover/wedding bands I played the first note on the rack ton and the last note on the floor tom.
Yeah that's a very effective one! Anyway hey, I appreciate the video, as I am in the process of pulling myself out of a years long rut, and ideas like this are a big help. I feel like one good idea always leads to others if you just have patience and let that creative flow happen.
Can u please do odd movements please that 5 count is so hard to pick up with a click
Why am I having a hard time going fast on the bass drum?
hey can you show the sheet music for the 50 bpm
What track was playing at the end? I need to download it off of DrumTrax ASAP
It's called Revamp and it's in the Pop Section.
Anyone have the link for the funny counting video lol?
Now i didn't come here to preach, but yall keep giving me the mic....
This lesson is going to go miles
What’s the name of song ?
3:05👍🏾
I’m ngl im self taught, I don’t even know how to read music. But I think I’m pretty nice for a 12 y/o. You still help me out though 💙!
Glad you found us.
I need a one on one bro
We don't necessarily do one on one lessons but we do have a private Facebook group for those who are paid subscriber on the app which is way cheaper than 1 on 1 lessons. In the private Facebook we go live and we discuss different drumming topics, answer your questions directly and even do student reviews. You should consider it.
Hi Brother
Download the app 💯💯💯💯👍🏾👍🏾✌🏾⚡️💥☄️
Period! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
How do I keep my self from getting off time when playing the chop too a song?
Use a metronome
Ulises is right. Using a metronome can help . Also getting off time can be sign that you don't have control of the pattern at that tempo yet. You may need to take it back to the practice room and practice it slower and with a metronome until you have it under your control.
Whats the differences between lick, chops, and fill....? Thank you before 🙏🙏🙏
Short answer... There is no difference. They are all synonyms. There is more nuance to this but I may need to tackle that in a video.
The way I understand it, a lick is a phrase which one can learn and apply to a musical context. The context may vary, but the phrase itself will not, making it a "lick". Chops are when a drummer freely plays around the kit, often combining different licks and playing them together. A fill is a drum lick which is often played before the downbeat within a song, also known as the "one". So yes, they are effectively the same thing and there is a lot of overlap in the definitions but there are slight differences, which is why there are different terms. I hope this helps.
I just tried accessing your tutorial on vimeo for beginners but I cant. What do I do?
Everything is accessable in the app with our paid subscription.
29 yeeeaah hahaha

Styx is the friking man!
He is!
so chops are what funky beats are built on ?
No. The groove or funky beats are typically your foundation. You build chops from simple patterns that you put together to create a rhythmic phrase that you play in transition from one part of a song to another
@@Drum-Trax so basically chops are fills?
@@insertmetalusernamehere please clarify what you’re asking. I’m happy to answer.
@@Drum-Trax is a chop just another word for a drum fill?
@@insertmetalusernamehere yes. The term “Chops” and “Fills” and “Drum Fills” are all interchangeable.
i dont even play drums i just think chops sound cool
It's never too late to start!
Give me a battery you have some or sell it to me I don't have, the one you're not using😅
