Greetings from Virginia! I love The Hu and I love LP! I'm sixty three years old and the Hu rock! Wolf Totem and yuve, yuve, yu as well! Wolf Totem with Papa Roach only after watching, and reading subtitles, of original Wolf Totem. Great reaction! Same way I felt/still feel hearing it!
You should do one on The Song of the Woman. I have the CD, and the song simply makes me cry because I've never had anyone tell me that I was valuable BECAUSE I'm a woman. But I didn't realize it was an old folk song. Yes, I love throat singing, one of them can get it so you hear what sounds like whistling, but it's coming from his throat.
The Hu are a Mongolian Folk Metal band that uses traditional instruments as well as others. The vocal sound they are making is their traditional throat singing :) Wolf Totem is a great one by them :)
And Song of the Woman. On my CD there's a sleeve with a translation for all the songs. Song of the Woman made me bust out crying. Never stopped to think...nothing is man made, everything in life is made by a woman.
The HU do a lot of heavier, metal pieces, but if you like the softer stuff, check out "Song of Women" with Lzzy Hale and "Shireg, Shireg," acoustic version. With throat singing, each singer produces two notes at once, which is why they sound so amazing. Glad you have discovered them!
Hu ( a son) is a basic word for Human ( Hun) in Mongolian. Ancient Mongol khaganates called themselves always “ we” or “ the people” is the most world famous empire, which scholars would spell it Xiounnu ( Hunnu (the people)) by in Chinese resources. Also more fascinating is in English word Human sounds so similar to Mongol word Humuun , also means human. 😊 Mongol is also drived word from old word “ manuus”, means “we are”.
Mongolian throat singing is cool as hell
Incredible❤❤❤
