This piece by Hilary is... something. I am not sure if I could experience this emotion elsewhere. It sounds like looking back at a distant point in space and time that is so vague, so unfamiliar and barely even real, somewhere you have never been to but somehow has always existed in your memory. Somewhere you can find your ghost, as a child, playing blissfully, unlike you of the present. As well as the ghosts of everyone you have ever known, staring at you, silent. It's not bitter nor sweet nor bittersweet. I don't know. Maybe void. Maybe everything at once. Maybe loneliness - for the fact that no one ever again in history, except you, will be able to gaze into the depth of your soul, and our inner conditions will forever be hidden away from the physical world. And when we are gone and there's no one to experience it, it vanishes as if it never was real. But it was real. You alone know it. Words can only go so far, but at least that's the best I can do describing it. Music, however, speaks louder than words for me.
ONE OF THE SUPREME ACHIEVEMENTS OF THE HUMAN SPIRIT - THE MUSIC OF BACH INTERPRETED BY HILARY! YOU LISTEN AND JOY FILLS YOUR SOUL THAT YOU ARE ALIVE, THAT THE HUMAN SPIRIT IS INVINCIBLE!
In the last three years she has changed the way she plays this, from the flowing style to this more contemplative and delicate style, as she has gone from brown to gray hair.
Extremely poor editing, constantly cutting between camera views needlessly. Once again, media is intentionally trying to destroy people's attention span. As for the performance itself, she is at the edge of trying to do too much with the music, breaking up the harmonies rather than letting the composition speak for itself. But it is hard to judge from a recording, which lacks the resonance that the live audience would be able to hear more clearly.

I haven't seen such unique interpretation of Bach. Wonderful!
Oh, but I did see and hear many such unique interpretations of Bach. Nevertheless, great performance by Hilary.
THE MUSIC OF HILARY IS THE HARMONY OF THE UNIVERSUM! THE BREATH OF THE EARTH! THE JOY OF THE SUN!
It's Bach's music, mind you.
The crystalline sound of Hilary Hahn is uniquely transcendent and magical. I think Bach would be very pleased.

One of the most poignant pieces of classical music performed by Hahn is as good as it gets
