- I've taken the plunge and bought the 'heart' of my next project - an American La France v12 engine...
My plan is to fit this engine into a pre-war chassis - perhaps a vintage Rolls Royce, Bentley, or Daimler. But first I'll see if I can get the engine running.....
Join me on my journey, it should be fun!
Big thanks to Bryan at Oakswamp - check out his channel.. • Swamping around ... En...
As a yank firefighter I am looking forward to your Brooklands Racer Special, or at least that is what I would put that engine in.
we're on the same page ! I'll be going to the Brooklands museum fairly soon to get some 'inspiration' !
Can't wait for this one. Fabulous project engine.
Thanks - I'm making decent progress on the 'trolley' and itching to get stick into that engine!
That horizontal valve arrangement and super long rocker arms is quite unique!
unusual isn't it - and I like unusual!
Can't wait to watch this build, should be epic!
Hey I know Derek he is in the next village, had many a natter with him. What a character he can spin a good yarn or two, make a great episode right there. He has .LOTS of interesting kit
He made the ''Le Monstre '' replica Cunningham Cadillac 1950 Le Mans car. That was a surreal experience seeing that coming the other way down our narrow
country lanes around here and me in a '63 Ford Galaxie sheesh that was a tight squeeze !!. The La France would look good using a lorry chassis with replica Edwardian body a la Goodwoods S F Edge trophy races..
He's a great bloke and currently out in the USA in Le Monstre!
Going to be fascinating
Wow, amazing, will certainly be watching how this develops, I rebuilt a few jaguar V12 engines,
Thanks for tuning in!
Something epic this way comes! I just hope Bryan isn't eying it up to put in the dumper truck, lol.
I wouldn't put it past him!!
Looking forward to the next video!
Splendid!
you will probably be able to hear it start from yours!
Looking forward to this one. 😊
Hey , send all that stuff back over here to America , we're running out !
haha - we need more of it!
Put it in an Austin 7 chassis. They'll all say it can't be done. Prove them wrong :) Will be interesting to see what you do do with it.
Hmmm... now there's a thought!
Thanks
The seller sure has an interesting accumulation. How does a fire wagon get from Iowa Fall, Iowa in mid USA to a small town in the south of England? There's a story in that somewhere. Nice video. Thanks for sharing.
it his certainly a long way from home! (but it has a good new home ;-).
Nuts! Totally nuts! It’s going to be interesting though. How you going to run that on batteries when the ‘EV Revolution’ is forced on us? Les
can't wait to start the beast!!
Does that engine qualify as an aero engine since it was built at the lycoming plant ? A stretch I know , I'm trying to help you out.
haha - afraid not... though the dual ignition systems gives that 'aero' feel! I'm planning to 'add lightness' to it by changing the manifolds so I hope it will look quite aero in the end (if it works!)
Transporter for all your cars ?
oooh - I'd not thought of that!
@@thebracketfactory make use of all those cubes!
Ditch the music!
yeah, will do next time. Thanks for watching.
