Howdy Cap’n Kevy! It’s always good to be part of the shaving meet ups on HMS Dundee. Next stop - Cabo San Lucas! Sorry...I dozed off for a minute there. It was a good dream though. 😴🥳 Always glad to see new soap/shaving artisans. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Great shave. When you kept saying sharp, I thought my video was glitching and that my internet wasn’t working. I love how the artisan is promoting men’s mental health awareness through his soaps. It’s a big issue that us men shouldn’t feel ashamed to take care of and address because it’s a big priority that shouldn’t be ignored. Have a great day
Very nice shave Kevy I love that this artisan cares about men's shaving products, wants us to enjoy them and really important Mental Health awareness. Everything you used in this video was stellar sir!!
Designing a shaving line that brings awareness to the stigma, and very real concerns that plague men. Today's society is wrought with so much image driven standards; that it does cause anxiety in the most positive individual. The very interesting scent profile does bring a uniqueness to the Lothur line. Albeit slick and well-cushioned, the lather did take an extended period to build. I'm so pleased you chose the 3one6. I had forgotten how well machined the head presents versus the DE89. The Viking Sword was its usual outstanding self. The end result was BBS; in all its glory. I am curious how his matching splashes will perform. Thank you for introducing this new artisan, mate. His message is very noble, and demonstrates positivity to all men. Stay in good health, and give my regards to your missus, and Mr. Riley.
Love the concept and the scent notes. Loved the Edwin Jagger razor! My dad this week ordered one and has got back into the traditional way of shaving which I'm really happy about - probably noticed all the brushes, blades, and soaps that have taken over the bathrooom! LOL. Good to see the Viking's Sword blades back, so good! :)
Hi Kevy- Great shave and soap review; thank you! Nice to hear of a new artisan and I will definitely give them a look. Enjoy the rest of the week and best regards, as always, Kevy!
Glad to see a new Artisan for you guys in the UK 🇬🇧😃👍💈I wouldn't have half of my soap collection if I had to pay all the different tolls to get soaps across the pond. Have a good one man! Steve
Nicely done Kevy💈💈 Yeah I gave the EJ 3ONE6 all stainless steel version to my son after I used it a couple times, wasn't comfortable to me. Mr Styptic is always a friend you want handy. Soap did take some hydration but lathered well in the end. Myrsol "C" is a favorite, good stuff. Great video, thanks. Enjoy!
@@danilobernaschina1842 Ah! Apologies Danilo!! I have the all stainless one and the red anodized handled one. They are great looking razors and are beautifully made. I haven't yet found my perfect blade for them though Supershave X is good and smooth in them. I really hope you enjoy your first shave with it Sir! What blade will you use do you think? Dave.
@@davesheppard8797 dear Dave, my first shave with a razor is always with Astra Green, then I adjust, I like the voshkhod for slant, Treet carbon or Rapira with gamechanger, Shark with Fatip, and Astra with R41, EJ 89, Merkur Progress, the best Razor with the Lupo
@@danilobernaschina1842 Yes, I like Voskhod in my Gamechanger •68 open comb and my Lupo •72 and Lupo dual comb. Nacets are great in my Blackbird and Nodachi. Most blades are ok in my 6s. Vikings sword blades are really nice too. I have used them in my Razorock BBS and Gamechanger •84. There are so many great blades out there. I find that most of the Gillette range are pretty good. In my AS-D2 I only use Feather blades as it's the only way I can get a decent shave with it. 😂😂 Enjoy Sir, Dave.
Great shave Kevy, I had ordered Calm it arrived today looking forward to trying it and a nice powdery lavender scent. Looking forward to how the Eucalyptus will present itself. My first soap was Jack Dean's Eucalyptus and Menthol and I loved it. Have a great weekend when it gets here. Very best regards Gordon 😊👍👌👊🙌
I would be curious after 250 experimental bases to design the soap, what does Johny do with them? Re-work them into other batches, or give them to environmental/chemical control company?
Thanks for the review, I've ordered the 'calms' snd looking forward to giving it a go. I think the artisan is trying very hard with this soap and very much want to support a home grown effort.
Great video as usual kevy. Love that brush, nice colour. I remember the very first video you made, you had one or two nicks You’ve certainly come a long way since then. You’ve become quite an expert on wet shaving. Keep the videos coming mate. Take care.
I have not purchased any soaps from a UK artisan, yet, but coincidentally I just acquired my 1st Vintage British Made Gillette and I am looking forward to taking it on its Premiere Shave as part of my Collection. Wheeeeeeeeeeee! :D
I love that they aren't like another brand that tells men we're trash. Lothar seems to have all same values as Soap Commander without airing all the dirty laundry.
The 3One6 E.Jagger razor is great, but as you note it is an *assertive* razor. Can I just say Kevy, your videos have humour and laughs but for one who listens carefully there always is some careful commentary about the products used. Well done for all the effort you've put into it all over the years, and for voicing your impressions of what you showcase. Both humour and impressions. What more could one want?
Great Shave again Kevy. It was useful as I own the all stainless 3one6 and have these blades. I think the 3one6 could be a little blade sensitive as I got really bad razor burn with a Personna (blue and white label red writing) in it but it seems to like Supershave X blades. I will have to try this combination and maybe try an "A Best" blade. I shaved with my Nodachi just now and have emailed you about it as it was an eye opener. Keep doing the great videos mate, love em all! Dave.
@@ozmobozo I have both of those blades but haven't tried them yet in my 3one6. Good idea! I will try the Voskhod as it's great in my •68 Gamechanger. Thanks Ozzy!! Dave.
kevy, thanks for the video. I'm using everyday Rockwell 6s - R3 plate and I'm very happy. I like this 3one6 with knurled handle, but can I use it as a daily driver?
Looks a great soap, still fancy a 3one6 but want to wait until they have the all stainless back in stock. I get how he got so into soap making, definitely a bit of a black hole, I've made a few tallow based shave soaps now that I keep palming off on mates 😂 I thought about trying to sell my surplus to buy more oils and scents, turns out it's a bit of a pain to sell soap in the UK
funny because.. STOD: Nivia protect&care cream. blade Derby usta (2). Aloe vera bodycream. Aldi's biocura silver splash. simple midweek shave. dont have the balms, because nivia good soap not keen on the scent.
G’day Scottish 🥃 Old Fart, you MUST get the Muhle Rocca v4.0 R94 and compare against your EJ 3one6, tell us which razor preforms better using the same blade brand of your choice. Cheers 🥃
The name is interesting. First of all because very few English speakers know how ø is pronounced. And løthur does not mean anything tin the languages that use ø (Danish and Norwegian), but it DOES mean foam or lather in two Scandinavian languages, but is then spelt löður (Icelandic) and lödder (Swedish) - but they don't use the letter ø.
