IKEA actually sells a screw/anchor box set with various sizes and screw head shapes(flat and domed heads) I think it was 8 bucks. The set is called FIXA.
Perfect filming and installing, ikea does not have any instructions on the site - to see before buying. Seems like the rod can be lifted or lowered on the wall if the length of the curtain is not the desired one, which is an amazing trick of ikea!
The instructions for IKEA products, if available, are in the Product Details section under Assembly & Documents and are downloadable, like the instructions for this product. It's quite handy because they're the same as the printed sheets you get but you can enlarge them on your screen instead of squinting to read them.
@@lisawilliams6990 The user manual, instructions for this product does not show what i wrote and what i wanted to see is possible. My question was if there is a system that allow you to adjust the height of the rod's supports and courtain AFTER the drilling (if the courtain looks too long or too short by a few centimeters)
I don’t think command strips would be able to hold the weight of the hardware AND the curtains. Is there a strict policy at the rental, or could you install it/take it down/patch the holes afterwards?
If you're talking about the screws for attaching it to the wall, yes! It's very important that you either: A. Screw into wall studs (an inch and a half screw), or B. Use anchors if studs aren't there Because curtains can weigh enough to pull brackets out if not secured well!
Be careful - pipes, wires, and all sorts of other things can be hidden behind walls! Try another spot if you’re having difficulty - it could also be your drill bit.
Answered all my questions about the bracket system! Thanks!
Life saver! You've done a wonderful job explaining and showing me what to do!
Good job! :)
Bigger I try my best - thanks!
Thanks a lot, it was really helpful! no other video shows the drilling part so thoroughly.
I’m glad to have helped!
That was very helpful, thank you! I wish IKEA would include screws and anchors for these
Yes! Something I was very curious about myself!
Thanks for the comment - could you please subscribe to my channel?
@@GalippsGadgets It's because different type of walls require different screws (cement, drywall, cinder, wood etc') and they don't want to be sued :)

Thanks Octavian!
And yes, depending on your interior’s design, you may need to adjust the curtain rod location.

Been wanting to get this but I am in a rental. If I got multiple, do you think I could mount with heavy duty Command Strips?
I don’t think command strips would be able to hold the weight of the hardware AND the curtains. Is there a strict policy at the rental, or could you install it/take it down/patch the holes afterwards?
Can you fix the curtain rod Räcka? So that the extended part is fixed and cannot be extended anymore? so it's fixated? thanks!
I don’t believe it has a rotational locking mechanism - sorry!
what sort of pencil and screw driver are you using? Also did you use the drill on a dry wall or concrete?
Just a couple generic products from a local hardware store. Also, this installation was on drywall.
I have a cement ceiling, how do you recommend I install the rods?
Ceiling or wall? Either way, you’ll need a masonry bit and concrete anchors if you plan to use these with brick/concrete.
+DavidGalipp What diameter screw/anchor? I eyeballed #10.
+Scott Armitage I couldn't honestly tell you - it was fairly standard, whatever I used...
Do we find the studs prior to drilling holes?
If you plan to use the studs then yes!
Does it matter how long the screws are?
If you're talking about the screws for attaching it to the wall, yes!
It's very important that you either:
A. Screw into wall studs (an inch and a half screw), or
B. Use anchors if studs aren't there
Because curtains can weigh enough to pull brackets out if not secured well!
Do we need to put it in stud or dry wal is fine for this product ?
Drywall is probably fine if you’re using drywall anchors - unless you plan on using a really heavy curtain.
What tool did you use to insert the anchors?
A standard Phillips Head screwdriver - there are some anchors that can be installed using a hammer as well.
hey. what lenght is that curtain rod of yours?
+Intan Ismail It’s actually an extendable rod!
I'm trying to drill through the wall but it doesn't go all the way through. Do you know why or what else I can do
Be careful - pipes, wires, and all sorts of other things can be hidden behind walls!
Try another spot if you’re having difficulty - it could also be your drill bit.
Muchas gracias!! Es lo que estaba buscando, me podrias decir la medida de tornillo?
¡de nada!
cualquier tamaño de tornillo funcionará
Do I really need the anchors??
Trust me - definitely worth it if you plan on opening/closing the curtains a lot, or if you have younger kids that like to pull on things!
What size screws did you use?
Most screws are going to work for this - just make sure when you buy them the weight rating is high enough to support the weight of your curtains/rod.
Good vid. Please can you maybe turnoff the music?
I’ll make sure to turn it down next time 😉
