The Germans were brilliant in their public relations that World Cup besides having won with an incredible team. As a Brazilian I can attest to their many wise decisions that culminated in the final having Brazilians at the Maracanã cheering for them against Brazil’s football archenemy Argentina, “after all my enemy’s enemy is my friend”. It started with the German Federation choosing their team headquarters at a compound owned by a German millionaire next to one of the first Indian Tribes contacted by the Portuguese in 1500 in the state of Bahia, where the Germans helped the tribe by buying them a brand new ambulance, placed grass of Bayern Munich on their soccer field and funded the children’s school lunch for four years. The Brazilians took notice. Also Germany chose their old second shirt colors of black and red, the colors of the most popular football team in that State, Bahia and the most popular team in Brazil, Flamengo. During and after the 7-1 route none of the players were disrespectful publicly, they were gracious winners. Most importantly, Germany for 20 years had all teams in their league contribute to teaching their children in multiple football schools and trained young men in coaching. It paid off, unfortunately in Brazil due to it’s economic realities have most of their young talent gone to soon from our nation to Europe were the world’s major leagues are. Brazil is a football giant with an eternal spring of natural talent. Germany is also a football giant. Both are number one and two in wins, games played, and goals scored in World Cups. To watch these two titans at their best against each other is pure beauty to behold. It was a tragic day for Brazil to loose so soundly in our soil, just as in the final in 1950 after building the largest football stadium in the world back then. Long live great football! ⚽️
amigo!!! Alex SF, a imprensa brasileira passou vários meses tecendo elogios e congratulações pelo belíssimo trabalho social que os alemães fizeram no brasil.
We have Carnaval as well, but very true, in 1950 having the pride of being the host of the first World Cup after Second World War and building the largest football stadium in the world back then the tragedy of loosing the final to Uruguay spurred even a few sadly to commit suicide. You would be hard pressed to find a nation so passionate towards their football national team both in joy and in sorrow.
The only problem I have with this particular match is: how the hell Brazil made it to the semifinals in the first place? That team was as you said, average, or even below. Must have been very lucky until then.
After the match Mular said that "You have to respect the opposition team " means if they've wanted than they could've score more goals but they didn’t for respect.
..the real problem was Brazil had a very weak team, probably the worst ever to play a World Cup, though being the host they were helped all along the tournament to reach the semifinal where they finally faced a strong opponent and we saw the result.
Yeah Brazil was terrible in the World Cup. They got lucky so many times and were exposed against Germany. I remember being really annoyed the way Brazilians acted like the whole world was behind them. Very few ppl outside of Brazil were. We all enjoyed watching Germany destroy them.

We Indians love Brazil because they produce some magical footballer, special mention my favorite Ronaldo, I know it's not easy to digest such huge defeat in your homeland, we know because we too have gone through the same experience. In 1996 cricket world cup semifinal against Sri Lanka while chasing 252,we were once 98 for 1 then Sachin got out and suddenly we were 120 for 8,the crowd goes furious, the match had to stop then and we were lost. Whole nation was enraged Then come 2007 world cup same Sri Lanka beat us again and we were out of world cup in first round Then come 2011 world cup and guess what this time we beat Sri Lanka in the final to win our second World cup. So don't lose hope and keep supporting your team your nation

It's a black hole for Brazil , they will never forget this defeat till centuries , there generations will read in their books after hundred's of years & they will shiver & cry
O FENOMENO, they didn't get away with it. This is the result for what Pele and Zagallo did to you. You gave Brazil the chance to host the world cup but you gave away your moment of greatness but who are we to regret for our it is but an experience in an unrepeatable moment of time.
it's not just 'a game'. Football is part of Brazil's culture and heritage. It is an integral part of that society. The players carry the legacy of past teams with them and represent millions of people, a big responsibility. To lose happens, but go under fighting, not with a meek inept capitulation that brings shame on your own country and millions of people.
With David Luiz it was a miracle they got that far. Mourihno used him well as a CDM at Chelsea. That guy is not a defender. I dont know how he made a living of that. Countless, countless big mistakes, in Arsenal he was awful, too. Brazil is going to have a hard time to win a world cup again. So many good teams now. Neymar is overhyped, too. Selfish and believed his own hype, even Robinho was better.
It’s true. I was fortunate to watch my National Team live every game in 1994 and even after winning so many of my fellow Brazilians said it was an ugly win because of the penalty shoot out and none of the flair of 1970 or 1982. Then after we lost the final in 1998 to France so many in the media accused the National Team of selling the game! We don’t understand the pride Croatia had in their first World Cup as a nation reaching third place and later second place. So many nations would be proud to reach a quarter-final. That’s the weight of being the only nation with five stars on their jerseys. It’s all or nothing, and in our home soil we had two tragedies, 1950 and 7-1.
*_O desastre dos 7 a 1 vai continuar a ser lembrado por várias gerações. Esse trauma vai estar sempre presente em todos os jogos. O Brasil manchou a sua história. O Brasil perdeu o interesse pela Copa do Mundo._*
It was sad, good that the coach of the German team told them to turn down the intensity, I got some friends telling me that some groups were calling the guys to rush to the Germans, even the security was seeing how bad this could have turned, glad that the Germans had class and respect while humbling the Brazilian team(that was one of our worst squads ever).
Before every world cup, they play a documentary with the history of the competition so far. They mention the most memorable matches of different tournaments. This game will feature on those documentaries 100 years from now and beyond.
Having had to tolerate Brazil winning so much and so often at the expense of other world footballing nations, watching them humbled gave me a SchadenBoner of Biblical proportions - then after Holland did it to them again a few days later, said SchadenBoner traveled to a distant galaxy and impregnated a whole new species
This humiliation of one football nation will be remembered as long as the Earth turns! Too much self-confidence and disrespect of the opponent and this should result, especially since the opponent was of far better quality at the time.
I heard that the coach for the Germany Team had to tell the team to take it easy on Brazil after all the scores because of how much humiliation Brazil is getting and how much this means a lot to them.
NOT a good day to be a brazilian soccerfan. I feel kinda sorry for them. We all know life in Brazil ain't always easy at all and soccer is one of few things that unites them all and helps them forget everything else. Now they wanted to forget the soccergame.
Germany was at it prime in 2014. They rebuilt their team after WC2002. I remember Germany 2006 was the youngest team in the whole tournament. They ended 3rd in both 2006 and 2010 WC. 2014 WC it was their chance to get the 4th trophy and they made it.
I remember watching the 2 great Brazil sides 1970 and 1982 , they had so many great players in those sides , Pele , Jarzhino , Carlos Alberta , Socrates , . But this Brazil side was poor , relying to much on Nemar . Half this side should never have played for Brazil
A giant falling...earth trembling....leyend evaporated... Brazil: where is all your past glory ? not a Brazilian here, yet this was so incredibly sad to watch....
A well earned victory imho. Our beloved german team went through a lot of hardship on its way to the Championship. In 2006 as host loosing the semi´s 0:2 to Italy and in 2010 beeing bested 0:1 by spain again in the semi´s. In 2014 our team finally reached perfection, cultivated from hard learned lessons of defeat and failure.
As german fan from Kazakhstan since 1998, it is so sad to watch how german`s team lost their strong sides. I hope that our time will return next year, but i miss mentally strong players like Gerd Mueller, Kaizer Franz, Rummennige, Matthaus, Schweinschteiger, Lahm and many others of them. In actual generation only Kimmich is our hope.
A country with madness in Soccer, but nothing works against an accurate game planning. Germany was prepared about the over attacking football of Brazil. They knew the diffenders and midfielders are passionate for attacking.
506 / 5000 Übersetzungsergebnisse In front of all, teach the children that losing is not that bad, even if you are losing that high. This defeat made the crisis in Brazilian football so clear that it was possible to restore Brazil to a great football nation. I was really sad, what happened this day to the lovely brasilian people. Neymar was a central player and a kind of quaterback for the brasilian team. So when he broke his back bone the famous brasilian footballers lost their leadership and was confronted what we cal a black out. A situation that changes in some minutes to an horror on earth, overwhelming and without a simple plan how to get out of that. As a german I was a little bit appeaced, that the footballers of my country didn`t react unrespectful or humiliating towards the brasilian players and fans, if that would had happened would had been ashamed, so I had great empathy for the unique people of brazil,
1982 foi mais doloroso, foi a última copa que os jogadores jogavam por amor a camisa, de lá pra cá o futebol virou comércio um derrame de dinheiro onde n precisa , futebol é arte e paixão.

Over inflated team. They made it to the semi finals mostly because of luck and being the home team
I guess it still hurts. Thing is that the brazil team was rather average and made fatal mistakes against a brillant german team. Thats sport!
The only problem I have with this particular match is: how the hell Brazil made it to the semifinals in the first place? That team was as you said, average, or even below. Must have been very lucky until then.

whatever it is but they didn’t increase the score. If they wanted they could but they didn’t.
..the real problem was Brazil had a very weak team, probably the worst ever to play a World Cup, though being the host they were helped all along the tournament to reach the semifinal where they finally faced a strong opponent and we saw the result.
Yeah Brazil was terrible in the World Cup. They got lucky so many times and were exposed against Germany.

I know it's not easy to digest such huge defeat in your homeland, we know because we too have gone through the same experience.

Then come 2007 world cup same Sri Lanka beat us again and we were out of world cup in first round

No, it is a shame since it should not be a score margin for a gaint team like this.
absolute shame
it's not just 'a game'. Football is part of Brazil's culture and heritage. It is an integral part of that society. The players carry the legacy of past teams with them and represent millions of people, a big responsibility. To lose happens, but go under fighting, not with a meek inept capitulation that brings shame on your own country and millions of people.

Felt really bad for the Brazilians!! It was one of the most shocking games in the history of World Cup!!
the problem is Brazilians are used to win and loosing is not an option
It’s all or nothing, and in our home soil we had two tragedies, 1950 and 7-1.
that's what you call eating a BIG slice ... of humble pie.

I heard that the coach for the Germany Team had to tell the team to take it easy on Brazil after all the scores because of how much humiliation Brazil is getting and how much this means a lot to them.
love the background music

The score world be very very more if captait lahm said slow to germany players. .... perhaps 9 or 10 to 1
Huh?
15-0.... Don't you know 1 goal was the gift?
And this was the time when Neymar was out in the injury. And now he out this year yet again because of his injury..
pain, tears, embarrassment, heart breaking.. i cried for more than an hour on that day.
Look at what france did to them.
Germany were prepared but Brazil were thinking more about neymar.
