An American...(a Yank to us Aussies) who is a roll model for our boy (we live in the outback) ~ Sadly, at whip cracking events here, the participants mostly look like they're at a funeral...You have a 'showman's' presentation. Your editing in the videos is amazing and your information is invaluable. Thanks mate.
Darryl Hetherington I’ve been to Australia 4 times. I know that the comps over there can be super stressful, hence the funeral expression. If there are any videos your boy wants to see me make, let me know.
I learned how to crack my whip after watching all your previous videos before you condensed them into this one. Its great to see you are still doing so well with your channel. Thank you for being a great teacher and performer.
Hey Adam. Great video. I'm 59 just took up the whip a few months ago. I've been using your whip lesson videos to learn. Your the only one to learn whip cracking on you tube. Thanks Alot for this video will be very helpful.
Steve Sellers also check out April Jennifer Choi. Her videos are good too. Some of the cracks Adam teaches I originally had some difficulty understanding, mainly because of the way he explained them. Hearing someone explain it just slightly differently made a world of difference.
A lot of my instructional videos are pretty old, and I have had more experience teaching since then. So I’d like to think I could do a better job now, but other people, including April, have already posted more current instructional videos.
AdamCWM I learned a lot of cracks from your videos. I'm not saying they are bad at all. But, when I did have difficulty understanding your explanation, other people's were more clear.
I hope adam makes more instructional videos. I still like the way he explains while cracking a whip. April gave the feeling of HowTo videos. Adam is more raw and does teach in a video without a lot of editing and cuts.. I like it.
Rebecca F Usually the ones who don't talk are the ones who pay attention the most, feel shy or ashamed that they might know the answer because people like bullies and sometimes teachers like to belittle those who just have some social anxiety. Or maybe they simply dont know the answer
I just got an 8' bullwhip for Christmas! It's been a dream of mine since I saw "Return from Snowy River" as a kid. I'm also a horse trainer, so I'm definitely incorporating this into my program once I'm good enough. Good for desensitizing. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge!
G'day G'day from the north. After stumbling on a video from Nick's Whip Shop, on how to make a bullwhip, I figured I'd give it a try. Turned out ok. He repeatedly mentions your name as an inspiration and friend of his. He suggests on several different times, to check out your page for help on learning different cracks. He was right. Less than 48hrs after finishing up with making my first whip. I've watched a few of your videos, now am able to proficiently do 3/4 of the cracks you've mentioned. Just by repeatedly watching this video. In fact, at first, just trying to do the cattlemen's crack, and failing horribly. I watched 30 seconds of one of yours videos, when you mention NOT using to much wrist and more forearm. 1000% improvement. So, thank you so very much.
Adam does a wonderful job of creating this content and sharing it with people and I couldn't be more thankful for it. After watching MOST of these videos and also checking out some of the comments I think there is an important distinction to make. Adam feel free to make a video about this if you feel it is appropriate. Adam is a world renowned "sport cracking" whip master. Not only does he hold many world records and has performed for millions of people, but he is also a braider and a true authority on whips. For people who have come to these videos looking for help with "alternative lifestyle" whipping information just know that not all of this information can be directly applied. Sport cracking is so much fun. You can make volleys and arrangements and all these very poetic and acrobatic cracks! But, if you try doing that to, say, a "live target"? Well, nobody is going to be having much fun. It's also very important to learn and understand the different KINDS of whips, the anatomy's, uses, and lengths, to understand the difference between why a 5 or 6 foot stock whip can do all these really beautiful combinations, but your 4 foot mini bullwhip seems to struggle (especially when it and you are new to this). Again, Adam is a world renowned and very respected whip master. He doesn't OWE anybody this information but he shares it anyway, so please, don't view this as me making a demand or entitlement. Just understand that the more information and education you have, regardless of how you plan on using your whip, is the best course of action for your own safety and the safety of those around you. *WHIPS ARE DANGEROUS. DON'T BE STUPID WITH WHIPS*
I’m vanilla myself and have no experience with “lifestyle” whip cracking, so I have no qualifications to make videos about that type of whip use. I usually recommend people look up Robert Dante for that kind of stuff.
I just bought a whip from a friend’s Godson in Texas and came home to Chippewa Falls, Wi only to find out that the world champion is from my neck of the woods. I immensely enjoy whip cracking. Thank you, Adam for the tutorial videos. It really helps. I was cracking my whip to-day and already had improvement by implementing some of your suggestions.
Great tutorial, Adam! It would be good for beginners to wear eye protection, and know that your suggestion to begin gently is sage advice. Some of the cracks shown here happen at closer range, and students would be well advised to understand that mistakes can make the energy of the whip come back close toward the user. For more thorough protection, beginners should avoid exposing bare skin and consider some form of head protection, especially around the ears and face. If the student has less worry about injury through good safety gear, they can learn and build confidence more quickly.
Thank u for vid Adam, greetings from Indonesia. There' s a dance in our local culture that also uses long whip, but with no variation. We just crack the whip for its sound. Your tutorial might inspire us to make many attractive moves like yours. Many thanks!
Your the best, came across you videos close to five years ago now. I was so blown away that I immediately made that whip you showed how to make in one of your videos and started cracking away lol thanks for another very insightful video :) I think I’m 💯 going to revisit the beginning stages and do this lesson step by step to better myself further. Your a true G.O.A.T with a whip 👍🏻 Looking forward to the next video :)
In Central America, this was basically my childhood at school when I didn't behave. Albeit, sometimes the teacher would just use her ruler or bare hand, but the whip (belt) was heard snapping away from time to time. Good memories LOL.
Very nice! I've had a 6-foot paracord whip from Stockman's Supply for about 7 years and haven't practiced much at all. I loved watching this video, the trick tracks look really cool and your guidance is easy to understand. Thanks for the inspiration!
Yep, I agree that that is the vapor front from the sonic boom moving away from the popper. You can see a similar effect surrounding airplanes as they exceed mach 1 as well as space craft that are launched with rockets when they reach mach 1.
I am getting acquainted with my custom whip you made for me. I’m beginning to get the hang of the cattleman’s crack, 7 of 10 times most of the time. Thanks for the education and the fun of learning something new and unique.
This is the best video I've found by far so far. The only thing I'm having a hard time with is tracking the end of the whip as it vanishes into the harsh white contrast of the sky. Thanks a lot for posting by the way
... after that last comment, I am odd to show my autistic child the fast and manly way of whipping! We're in Michigan, but our hearts are in Texas. I miss Houston. Interesting hobby, always been intrigued. Great job, brother.
thanks so much for this video. I'm really interested in the "arts" part of martial arts, & the whip has been what I've been learning lately bc of catwoman from batman. I actually got my whip from spirit halloween to crack with a caddleman's crack, so now I've a real whip coming in the mail to practice with. my first weapon was the tessenjutsu war fan, & what I really like about a fan or a whip is that they're about momentum & timing, so it's like a dance almost. thanks again
You are amazing! I would really like to pick up the whip but I'm a girl and it seems to be popular with boys only haha but I think I might because I already really like knife throwing and bow and arrow!
So I was just watching the show “How it’s Made” where I saw how they make these by hand. I am instantly obsessed with having one. I’m 55 years old and my brain is telling me to stop looking at your F-ing phone and do something that entails getting off the damn couch so here I am! hopefully I won’t lose an ear or worse! Lol! still looks way more gratifying than golf!!
Great stuff. 😁 I'm learning on a small cow leather snake whip. Should the belly of the whip be aimed away from me to help with the whip movement? Or is that kind of thing important at all?
I'm having a real hard time with anything other than the 2 cattleman's cracks at the beginning. Not to be this guy, but could it be the whip? Mine might be too long (for a beginner?), and it's also leather not paracord. I'm having fun practicing the flick on a water bottle, but I only got one small crack and have no idea how. PS, you and your videos are awesome and the reason I got a whip 😃
Waoh just realized wet towels and rags (yes i was in the army) taught me to use and master the reverse under hand flick. Once you get the flick, cracking becomes easy.
The shapes he draws with the whip? The rhythm? The seemingly effortless presentation? AMAZING
Me? I’m whack as fuck!
I've downloaded and tried to keep up in slow motion! He's great!

I just realized how much I need a whip.
Was thinking the same thing
It is so badass
Do you need one? I’m a builder.
Jody place your order. I make custom whips
Build one out of nylon Paracord it's super easy and takes like 5-8 hrs

How long did it take you to crack???

great, now I can silence my classmates when i'm explaining to the teacher
Nice. I'm the teacher. I want to crack the whip over the students who won't talk.

My third grade teacher used a whip to wake up sleeping students.
I went from hoof cleaning to whip cracking. the RUclips rabbit hole never ceases to amaze.
7:54 that was a hardcore flex and I loved it very much. 😸

Adam... you're too talented. 🤣 when I practice with my whip, I feel like a penitent monk taking out my sins through self flagellation...

Wow that’s the name of the movie where I first saw whips being used! Thanks for this post. What a flashback for me lol
