My brothers and I used to pretend to be villans and heros. We had a super long, blue electrical cord. It was like 15 feet and I'd use like 8-10ft of it and somehow figured out how to crack it at like 13 years old without injuring anyone involved. After watching this channel, I realize how easily we could have all been in the ER with serious injuries.
I know this guy’s tired of hearing how beautiful he is, but LORD! So many of us, I’m sure, didn’t even know whip cracking was a thing but after algorithms introduce you to this gorgeous specimen of the human male species, you’re hooked. And then he opens his mouth! ❤️ Even the voice compliments that body! Kudos to you, sir! You bring people joy. Keep it up!
I've made a few nylon whips some years back, the only reason I stopped was no longer having space to plait properly. They're a really good option for starting out, and for really humid environments. I should make a new one soon and get back into practice.
I made a few whips around 15-18 years ago. There was next to no info online for making paracord whips, and what there was was pretty confusing for beginners. In the last couple of months, I found myself looking at videos on RUclips, and there are some pretty great videos and video series. I've just finished my 3rd bullwhip, and I'm just changing bits on how I'm making the whips to try to make a whip that I can be proud of. If you are able to get back into making some whips, go for it and have fun 😊👍👍👍👍
As teenagers we all had leather bullwhips in our neighborhood. New kids on the block came from Mexico and got us started cracking. ( back in the late 60’s) It was a lot of fun learning. Love your videos.
Hey Jacque, thanks so much for sharing this video. I have wanted to do whip cracking since I was a kid! My brother and I bought cheap whips when we were teenagers and needless to say we found out real quick they were just for decoration and not for whip cracking! We did have fun with them while they lasted. I haven’t bought another one since as I didn’t know what kind to get. Now I can get cracking and start practicing! You are just so good at it!!
Thank you sir. You have just answered basically all of my questions except one: what advice do you have for someone contemplating getting into targeting?
Love watching whip crackers - in the West, they also lasso & that's really nifty too, but omg it is so awesome to see this outside the cowboy context for once in my 5 decades hahaha! I've seen the skill done by masters, but never the skill and the show in one! Viva la circus!
Last time I saw you was at King Richards Faire. It has been almost 10 years! I frequent the Deerfield Beach Ren fest. I can't wait to get home to Massachusetts and see you and Ses Carney again!
Great video! I wish I had this about two years ago when I got into whip making and cracking, I figured out most of these tips in the end but it took a lot more searching.
This tutorial helped a lot! I used some of your poses as references for a character Im making who has a whip with a fire spirit inside it! Very cool :]
Having spent many years on my uncle's cattle ranch during my teenage summers, I learned how to use a bull whip early on. Will absolutely agree 100% that catching yourself in the back of the calf with shorts on is a rather painful reminder to wear pants. However, after many years of helping out around the ranch, I got at least competent enough with whips to use them beyond that job. Nothing professional, but it can be an impressive and sometimes useful skill to have in your back pocket for the right participants.
This was so interesting and well-presented. Thanks for taking the time to break this down! I would love to take up this or archery. They are both very appealing to me although both are pretty different lol
That was all very cool. I’ve had a 5 foot leather bullwhip for close to 25 years and I still love it. And yeah, pants. Always pants. I use the whip for moving cattle and one time was wearing shorts. Welt lasted a good week.
Dude come to Australia and I'll show you how to get some decent cracks out of a stock whip! It is all about the feel (which I'm sure you know). Cracking properly on them is a joy but they also aren't forgiving if you are off (won't crack loud at all)
Jacques Ze Whipp[er you are very talented, very well spoken, nice hair and you are very handsome. Please forgive me, i hope there is no offense, but you look like a very handsome cowboy. I wish I had your talent. I love all your videos. I wish there where shows like yours in our area. In these times we need entertainment like yours and your fellow fabulous intertainers that work with you. You and they make us happy and it make us forget what is happening in the world for a little while. Thank Jacques Ze Whipper for the RUclips videos you bring to us. It makes our day a little better. You are a great entertainer. I wish you and all that work with you a wonderful day. Thanks again for all you and your team do to bring a little happiness in the world.
Good gracious darlin 😲❣️......you , sir , are darn impressive with your whip skill's. Just found your channel today and you are the ultimate performer shug❣️. A-mazing skill set, and also keeps the crowd laughing 😁❣️. Seems we need a little more of that last one here lately. Along with all that, I'd also like to add this......... "Jeepers your bicepts' are ginormous 😲😉😁❣️"
Wow I know he uses an accent in his show but his voice sounds so different here even then when he 'breaks' his accent during his show. Also so interesting that he got a scar and almost took his eye out his first time using a whip and he went, yes this is for me 😂
When my dad shot guns he always used cigarette butts as earplugs which is kinda funny since he never smoked a day in his short life. They actually fit great n work. When u coming to the Maine Renaissance fair? Not this yr I guess but maybe next?
It looks like fun, and I would maybe like try it, but I can only imagine how my neighbors in this crappy neighborhood would say when they keep hearing all these sharp cracks.
Can you explain the science of the cracks? Is the sound made when the whip cuts through the air, or when it doubles back onto itself? Why does the crack happen loudly sometimes and not others?

dear god your arms are massive :0
ok, good. Wasn't just me that noticed
He's also a slugger in baseball so that probably makes his biceps enormous as well.
he straight up looks like a video game character
Every whip day is arm day 😂
Cracking whips and nunchucks are crazy arm workouts

I always wondered about the impact on hearing! Glad you're covering the safety with the basics.
Extremely interesting to have the basics of whipping in such a precise and consise way. Thank you very much for this video.
I could seriously listen to you talk all day no matter what you're talking about. Your voice is so soothing 💖.
A friend taught me how to crack a bull whip when I was an art student at Pratt. So much fun! Thank you for posting this, Jack!

That was the smoothest segue into a sponsored ad I've ever seen! Bravo!
My teen says you should end this video with, "Happy Wipping" as a tag line.
Unfortunately, April Choi (another whip cracking artist) already uses that on her RUclips Channel😕
What about “let’s get Cracking” or “Get Cracking”
@@pimpsalsa5098 California Pistachios has that tagline.
Play the Greensleeves “renaissance” tune and say in a husky voice, “Everybody wants one from Mr Whippy” 🤤😈😱🤭😏🫦 🍦🍦🍦
How about go outside and whip it out 😆

Longer handles are better for target work. I usually say at least 10 inches, and make it a 4 or 5 foot whip
Yep. Yes i always say at least 10 inches.

Thank you for showing the importance of safety

An awesome video tutorial for people wanting to learn, or even get into whipping! Great upload!
Very interesting video, very informative. While I may never use these skills for preforming they do serve well for my other purposes.
Oh lord have mercy, this man is so attractive on so many levels. 🔥
This guy's upper body intimidates me.

The Epic Glutemus Maximus has returned 🤣🤣🥰👍
In all your prolific videos of whip cracking, I'm not sure you've done many beginner videos. Glad to see it join your catalog ^_^
I’m sorry sir I cannot hear you over those massively beefy arms 💪
I am really impressed by your skills, your humor and yes your looking, too 😅
The exit song alone is worth a like 👍
Your voice is amazing! You should narrate audiobooks
I was introduced to whips by people that hunt birds with them. How hard does that sound to you as a professional?
This was so interesting and well-presented. Thanks for taking the time to break this down! I would love to take up this or archery. They are both very appealing to me although both are pretty different lol
So I'm completely straight, but like, damn dude
Your very thorough and detailed with whip knowledge and use. You movements are really fluid and graceful too. Cool video!! 😎👍Thanks for the info!!😁👍

1:15 Jacques: whip cracking
Somebody in the neighborhood: "yes, police? There were shots fired, come quick!"
Cool video, but you failed to add to security tips the drawn 'stach, sir 😁 It's quite necessary for a whipper. Note: great transition to ad! Flawless.
Ooooh, that transition to the sponsor spiel was SMOOTH! 😂😂
Where are you from? Cause you stand like a Texan.
Thank you! That was both educational and entertaining. Be well.

I'm so glad I saw this today. There's a bullwhip for sale at the Antiques mall near me. I'm going to get it tomorrow! :)

I love lunge whips. I used to do the same playing around
I miss my 4 foot one I made. So much fun.
Thanks I just cracked a broken jump rope with one handle ❤😂❤❤😂❤❤❤😂😂

Great advice. Can’t fathom how to do the side crack though
What a great segue!
"You can't toss that into the air"
His dad: "maybe *you* can't!"
Thank You Captain America for the lesson.
As the old saying goes , it's not the size of the whip that counts , but how you use it . 😉
