So if someone doesn't sound quite as good as they did in their prime, they should just retire?? If that was the case, I guess we'd be stuck with a lot of crappy bands and shitty concerts. I'd take a 100 year old 'Dio' over a 25 year old Hinder/Nickelback/Fall out Boy any day...
I saw this show in Belfast....the venue only held a couple of hundred and the stage had barely enough room for the band...all of the back drop and drum riser had to be left in the trucks...really back to basics and probably the smallest show they ever played...great night.
A lot of this set was done in a lower key, but its to do with saving his voice really. Doing a tour of this length, featuring the vast array of vocal arrangements, will take its toll on anyones voice - be they 15 or 65! But having said that I don't think it detracted from anything on the actual night though! Fantastic as ever!
Actually Ronnie had such a terrible fly ongoing. That definately did something to his voice. Was in Hellsinki and next evening in Jyväskylä, where I met once again the whole band. Even though Ronnie was seemingly tires, he had time for his fans to take pictures and discuss of everything, especially icehockey!
Maybe In Your Dreams.... Only rare Track Rainbow did Live was A Light In The Black during the test tour of November 1975. Tarot Woman was never performed Live, mainly because Dio felt the Harmony Vocals were a serious part of the song, and as he sang the lot himself, it couldn't be duplicated to his satisfaction in a Live event. Also, Mr.Blackmore always had reservations about performing certain songs live for various reasons... which was always sad for the serious fans!
I like that Doug played Ritchie's solo close to the original.. Keys did too ...
MY FAV RAINBOW TUNE RIP RONNIE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The little man with the big voice!
And Doug of course!
This sucks man. I just recently got into metal. And all the good bands are either retiring or are dead :c

Definitely missing Ritchie Blackmore's guitar. Nice try though.
Hate me, yeah................ but I think Tracy G is better off with Dio..... love his vibe on the guitar!
