This video is like a blind person reviewing a painting.

@ie Different strokes, and all. You seem positive and interested in other's perspectives.
So I'll comment that you fail to see the value in replaying games. There are many genres including shooters, run n gun, and beat em up that are "short". These genres would be trivial, and boring if they were stretched out over hours. The point isn't to credit feed and watch the credits. The point is to learn to play well and use as few credits as possible, preferably no credits, and maybe put up a decent score. There's a reason scores reset to zero if you use a continue. It's about the process and sense of accomplishment. And don't doubt how thoughtfully the great games in these genres are constructed. They aren't merely arcade games; the best are as good as any game you can name.
Just my two cents. You do you.

I appreciate the info, it really does help anyone who checks the comments and provides additional opinions since this challenge doesn't provide me the chance to dive any deeper than surface level. While I agree I don't appreciate aspects of the games like these that can provide more value, I try and include this in the video itself. In this one I mention that as someone casual to the genre and who doesn't necessarily like these games, I don't find it as fun. However, an enthusiast or anyone willing to put some time into the game will find they like it, probably why it was reviewed favorably. I'm definitely not the person to go to regarding some of the games I play, but the challenge needs me to play them. I'll continue to express that my playthrough is not indicative of everyone's playthrough, and the best course of action is to try it for themselves because they may find they like the game!

Love how some of the enemies have that pre-rendered 2.5D look. Kinda mostly died after the 5th Gen ended and it’s a cool look

@@PS2orDie here's a little word of advice. If you want to beat every PS2 game, you're going to have to beat every PS2 game.

I think its really cool you’re attempting to beat every ps2 game, and also playing one of my favourite games of all time! I am sorry to say tho, you didn’t beat espgaluda. If you see “continue?” that basically means game over. To actually clear the game, it would take a very long time. It took me probably 5 or so months to clear. Also i see that you’re using autofire the whole time… autofire is mostly only used for popcorn enemies (small easy to kill enemies) or quickly getting out of the way around bullets (macro dodge). But the focus shot is supposed to be used for dodging inbetween bullets (micro dodge). When using the focus shot, your character moves slower so you will be more in control.
I know on the surface this just looks like a short game or in your words underwhelming, but if truly givin the time to understand it, you will see that this is one of the deepest (mechanically) and well crafted games of all time. Ive beaten many difficult games (soulsbourne etc) and clearing this is by far my greatest achievement in gaming. It was the most rewarding feeling i’ve ever had in a video game.
I do understand you are just unfamiliar with the genre. The learning curve is very steep. But I do hope you put the time in to learn how to play it a little more properly. I think you rated it so low because you don’t understand it, which the comment “blind person reviewing a painting” came from. It may never truly click for you, but the game will become a lot more fun when youre not flyin outa control holdin autofire the whole time.
Good luck on your ps2 journey!! You will have to come back to this game to actually beat it tho.

I really appreciate the comment and all the info on the game! Yes, I mentioned I only rate it low because I’m not the target audience, and I don’t play these games very often (and I’m not good at them!)
However, I saw credits at the end. This is the main point of this challenge. Every game gets seen to the credits (or whatever we decide if none are available). Beating this game the way you imply would take a long time, but this is not a skill based challenge. I do not have the time to 1 life the game, which as I’ve seen is, is more a badge of honor and more closely related to the arcade cabinet. Since this game allows me to see credits this way, I will call it beaten. I understand that some people will not accept this, but this challenge is more a test of time and determination rather than skill. I have to draw the line somewhere.
However, if enough people are unhappy with how a game is beaten, I really am open to keep discussion on how to actually finish it. I genuinely mean it.
      Again, I really appreciate it!

Isn’t Cave the developer that made a snowboarding game where you could play as Leon Kennedy while listening to a song about smoking a pinch of devils lettuce?

@@PS2orDie just like most shooter's they are easy to pick up and play anytime and the game is not insanely hard compared to others. the nice graphics and awesome music also helps make it stand out. yes the game is short but that is just most games in that genre. also yes the price point is not worth it just like most games being over priced these days but that is what emulation is for. if im not mistaken i think they released a switch version recently

Yeaaaah, mahjong games are certainly the biggest hurdle for anyone attempting this kind of challenge. I know it's a beloved game in Asia but having 150 releases with minimal differences on every console ever seems a bit excessive.
