    I have been using the tear drop sinkers with the pieces of thick nylon sticking out of them

    Awesome stuff Dean!
    Pro tip for new anglers: Go as light as you can based on the current. The heavier the sinker, the more resistance the fish feels while taking your bait.

    Many sinkers and shapes to just be able to sell more of them

    Similar story, Don.
    Fishing for Blues in front of Glen Eden parking with a 10ft Shimano Vengeance and a Daiwa Laguna 4000 spinning reel with 30lb braid. Pink prawn and a no.2 Daici red hook.
    I hooked into a 65cm Silver on the same weekend that I bought the setup.
    Probably the greatest fight and catch of my life!

      They love to take a bluefish bait and are often far closer than than we think, love their fight

    You forgot to mention and show the spark plug sinkers and rocks that we also use

    Very informative, thanks. I’m surprised you didn’t mention the use of sinker clips. Quite often I use a bottle with Dacron loop, but on my trace I then have a sinker clip. A couple of reasons, one, it’s easy to change a sinker, and two, I can clip a bait onto a standard bottle (teardrop) sinker.
    FYI, with all the quality content you guys are bringing out this is my go to channel. Thanks again.

      I will confess I have never fished a sinker clip before. Us old timers stick to what we know

      Bottle as in deep sea, don't think a 20oz shape makes to much difference, don't often see bottles in smaller sizes

    With regards to the unclipping problem, I would love to hear your take on Gemini/splash down clips.

    • @donczns
      @donczns 3 месяца назад +2

      I dont experience the unclipping problem to much, trace length seems to affect them, but I will give them a try and we will give a proper review and a few tests on clipping.

    The grapnal sinker, if the wire is longer where you attach line. Do you think it would hold better in the sand?

    • @donczns
      @donczns 3 месяца назад +2

      I think it's mainly the spikes that dig in but if casting your own why not try it
