most of the reasons to ban tiktok aren't even mentioned, which is that the CCP laws require TikToks parent company to give the CCP COMPLETE ACCESS to the data. Foreign governments spying on us isn't really something preferable when they actively try to subvert the USA government. And most western governments
The fact that the people who are running this country don't understand BASIC technology like WIFI is the reason why I say we need age limits on all government positions including congress.
.... Wait, there was an almost tornado in L.A.? Huh.... Everything's great here in San Diego! I mean.... Last I looked. I have been asleep for a bit...
"Is TikTok in the room with us" is actually a perfectly reasonable question. I'm assuming that they subpoena someone to be designated as a specific kind of witness. Then, for the purpose of the deposition or interview, that witness has been authorized to BE TikTok. They are supposed to be able to answer all any any questions in specified categories that would be info that anyone in TikTok would know about those categories. This may mean the witness having to go interview other workers or do research before the deposition/interview. So asking "Is TikTok in the room with us" is asking if this person is the designated rep, and asking if he's properly educated on the designated topics to answer because right now, he is TikTok.
I don't get why people are so upset about this TikTok thing when Instagram and RUclips can do the exact same thing. Like even if companies like Facebook and RUclips paid to have TikTok on the stand, why does it matter? Nobody can tell me why TikTok getting banned is a big deal, but they expect me to care immensely about it.
TikTok in particular... no, no reason to care. The precedent of big companies paying to have their rivals removed by the government so they get to keep a monopoly... much bigger issue.
If nothing else, it would be about the precedent it sets. Just ban and censor anything you don't like, just because it's foreign to you? That slope is more slippery than your front porch after freezing rain.
Worst part about this is that there are good reasons to get rid of TikTok and regulate social media apps, but you could fill a room full of 'em and Republicans couldn't hit a single one.

bruh frrrrr!!! Everytime I go outside in CA, it's a different goddamn season.
Man, I want more Kansas
Perfect for Kansas. I've been waiting for that for a long time.
MS just got hit with a massive tornado The wind was so strong that it leveled city’s and pictures/documents got scattered to AL.
It’s got to connect to the wifi…that’s so weird. When I’m on FB Zuckerberg just stands in the corner & takes notes😂
Coming from Kentucky, yeah, sub F2 is not even a reason to get out of bed unless its actually in your yard
Love the Kansas people watching tornadoes on the porch.
Aww, Cali watching an ALMOST F1 is like a kid's My First Tornado book
Do we know what Kansas was referring to before California clarified things?
Gotta love California weather
I really don't know whether to laugh or cry... This is scary actuate.
The Wi-Fi question was asked in the most Boomer way possible but there was an actual important question.
The question being if it can connect to other devices on your WiFi network. If being connected to the Wi-Fi on your phone what Tik-Tok be able to interact with other devices on the network
That's an actual important IT question. It was just asked in the most uninformed Boomer way possible
It has vibes of someone writing it down for someone else to read.
They should have had IT experts run this meeting.
@@LeadTrumpet1 At least have one on mic talking into the ear of someone. It was just a painful thing to witness.
@@LeadTrumpet1 you are 100% correct on that. If you have concerns about technology you should get an expert on technology to answer the fucking questions lol
most of the reasons to ban tiktok aren't even mentioned, which is that the CCP laws require TikToks parent company to give the CCP COMPLETE ACCESS to the data. Foreign governments spying on us isn't really something preferable when they actively try to subvert the USA government. And most western governments
Kansas reaction to California is very similar to if you ask a Floridian about survival prep for a Cat 1.
As someone from Kansas I can say it’s not worth watching until you see your neighbors new roof get ripped off for third summer in a row
As a Kansan born and raised I feel seen, thank you
To be fair, a weak tornado is still a pretty gnarly sight.
Granted, most in L.A. would be in more danger standing outside staring at it, but yeah.
nothing like seeing the hook come down over your edge of the city and then have it disappear.
True. I did freak a bit when an F1 looked like it might knock a tree into my apartment.
@@minigolfkid nothing like seeing a swirling funnel cloud move over your head in the sky and watch it move by...
Thank you for the KU rep Go Jayhawks!
Not even a cat 1 is just a summer breeze for the south
"Wasting my time", how did I know that was coming?
The fact that the people who are running this country don't understand BASIC technology like WIFI is the reason why I say we need age limits on all government positions including congress.
Lol doing good stuff. I really enjoy your videos. Thanks for being hilarious and looking forward to the next one
the government here reminds me of Florida, and I want to see both of their reactions to hearing me say it.
Aw, smaller that an F 1? That's barely a dust devil, calm down California
It's time for my weekly-ish catch-up with America. Oh... you guys good?
No, no we're really not. Thanks for checking, though.
No, no we are not
Not at all but thank you!
.... Wait, there was an almost tornado in L.A.? Huh.... Everything's great here in San Diego! I mean.... Last I looked. I have been asleep for a bit...
When he said, "the other L.A.", I confusingly thought, "lower Alabama??" lol
I live in Kansas. Don’t waste our time with a “tornado” that’s not even an F1.
finally, a proper representation of Kansas that didn't involve that awful movie from 1939
This reminds me about that old quote about your country being led by cowards and defended by idiots.
YAY NEWS
Excellent pacing with the edits!
Theres a band called The Other LA and I just now got what that meant.
See, this is what happens when you forget to bring your grandkids to meetings. Now they gotta figure out what wi-fi is, bless their hearts.
Yep,this sounds about right 😂
As a born and raised Kansan, 1000% accurate
Almost an F1 isn't a tornado, it's a dust devil
It was in one of the most populated parts of the country and not even EF-1? I agree with Kansas here.
i can believe that happens
I don't get why people are so upset about this TikTok thing when Instagram and RUclips can do the exact same thing. Like even if companies like Facebook and RUclips paid to have TikTok on the stand, why does it matter? Nobody can tell me why TikTok getting banned is a big deal, but they expect me to care immensely about it.
TikTok in particular... no, no reason to care. The precedent of big companies paying to have their rivals removed by the government so they get to keep a monopoly... much bigger issue.
Agreed, TikTok sucks, who cares
If nothing else, it would be about the precedent it sets. Just ban and censor anything you don't like, just because it's foreign to you? That slope is more slippery than your front porch after freezing rain.
As a Kansan, can confirm; don't waste our time with < F1, and porch is the place to be until it starts flinging mopeds and lawnmowers at you.
To quote Texas: “Time to Boogaloo?!”
Fun fact: that is Kansas’ first appearance since August 😂
Great video.
that intro is gold.
My Pinay girlfriend freaks out when I'm outside watching the storm (here in KS).
Worst part about this is that there are good reasons to get rid of TikTok and regulate social media apps, but you could fill a room full of 'em and Republicans couldn't hit a single one.
even this shows how out of touch lawmakers in the U.S is and its making fun of the trial
why is it so hard to get at least one congressman who knows how technology works like my gods lmao its honestly sad
