Michael’s 44-48 yo HS graduation observation was weirdly on point. I might ‘hypothetically’ use it cuz it feels more polite. Maybe to me it feels like a play off a ‘never ask a woman her age” thing
We had a private chef right after my wife had our child. She was a chinese student that would cook us 4 or 5 different meals every 3 days and before she came I was dead against it. Now, I know better : best money spent EVER !
The conversation on private is absolutely insane by you two, you didn’t even factor the most important and best part - someone who can literally take care of all your health considerations whilst making something taste good. I’ll almost certainly never be able to afford one but if I had 50+ mill I would 100% use one.
You guys need to spend the $30 for a portable tire inflator to keep in your car, it’s so easy to use, no more gas station compressors, and mine has saved me multiple times
We refer to the period between 2000 and 2010 as "The Noughties" in the UK, fyi - pronounced like "naughty" - they paled in comparison to the 90s , of course.
I don't think a private chef is that out of reach. We have a housekeeper that works 6 days a week from 8-12 and a housekeeper/nanny that works from 2-7 5x a week. We also have a babysitter on the nights we go on date night. We also have a gardener that works 5x a week for 4 hours a day and a pool guy that comes 2x a week. I made my income in the US, have done very well investing and have moved abroad and live a very nice life! I'm 38 with a wife, 2 year old, and another on the way.
Ok, Ben... I know you're rolling in the dough but those eggs really irritate me every time I do my weekly grocery run. They really flair that irrational rage. That said. Love the show. Keep on keeping on you legends!
If you are not in the financial market space right now, you are making a huge mistake. I understand that it could be due to ignorance, but if you want to make your money work for you...prevent inflation
I gotta say - the Mag7 contributes the vast majority of the earrings growth into the SPY but the professional money class (messers Batnick and Carlson sadly included) still cries concentration! I can’t reconcile the two.
As a graphic designer, I get it. And as long as you got permission from John Van Hamersveld, the artist who designed the epic poster, then all is good. Otherwise, I wouldn't be wearing that shirt in Huntington Beach. Surfers take this shit very seriously.@hillmadaris
The comments about leveraged funds are uninformed and naive. If you can deal with the drawdowns, 2x QQQ or SPY makes a lot of sense. Yes, a 2x daily resetting product might not make exactly 2x the return of the underlying, but so what ? There's a wealth of research supporting the idea that these products, if used sensibly, are fine for long-term holders. But let's not forget that this podcast is for "entertainment only" so perhaps I'm being optimistic to expect anything more.
Can you help me understand what a sensible utilization of these products is? Is it something to utilize on big drawdowns like this as opposed to the chop Nvidia has had in the past month?
Am I the only one sick of even hearing the term "AI"? It's gone from interesting, skipped right past cool, and went straight to irritating. I say pull the plug on the whole thing, stop spending billions on this nonsense. Old fashioned Google circa 2021 was fine.
coz chatgpt is delight off the tongue. i assume it's an acronym that can't even be spoken easily. deepseek is just new so it takes a while to get used to the name.
Greetings from Greece! There is too much information out there today. So the knee jerk reaction to absolutely everything that happens tends to skew to the extreme end. AAPL is playing AI perfectly. They are not over investing on LLMs which are not revenue or earnings generating any time soon. Most people will not shell out $20 a month to look up things. Let everyone else invest in building the infrastructure and keep making great mobile devices that dominates the high end market. China story is overplayed. India is the next big market and potentially even bigger than China as they don’t flood the market with cheaper copycat smartphones.
All deepseek did is prove that all these investments are justified. Just imagine taking this model breakthrough and applying 100 billion worth of hardware to it. AGI 2027? More like ASI 2026.
Quick Takes: ) Perhaps inadvertent topical link with Klarman and the later S&P/ETF Preakness Chart. Klarman is also a leading racehorse owner (that has won the Preakness!! a couple of times). Arguably doing better on the track than the market recently however. ) MEG: Milk, Eggs, Gas (classic prices people latch on to & use as measures of inflation, even if smaller part of budget than shelter, insurance, vehicle, etc). ) Millions of meme crypto tokens are too much like multicolored tulip bulbs for me (but as long as there are buyers on the greater fool theory, it works)... ) 450K earning couple in Brooklyn is probably more like a 200K couple in Grand Rapids. Adjust for cost of living. ) Ben is midwest polite on the parking. ) Goonies is timeless. RIP Matuszak (Sloth Fratelli) ) Tire inflation ($50 to $350!) literally... also Batnick mentions new ease of tire inflation earlier in the show! ) Recommendation for early 90's eras coming of age movie set in midwest (pre-internet/no cell phones): Snack Shack (2024)....It follows 2 guys with a entrepreneurial and gambling bent (and a mutual love interest). It's Nebraska and one even has a Buffett poster/stock interest in one scene. It's not just Wonder Years with cigarettes but kinda, in a good way.. Very poignant with some comedic moments. On Prime (led there from NYT best movies on Prime list).
Seems to me that the biggest winner of open-source AI (that no one is talking about), will be Intel. That's because open-source AI is run locally on PCs/laptops, and Intel dominates this space, providing the best AI-powered productivity solutions. If you check the best selling AI-powered laptops on Dell, HP, or Lenovo websites, 9 out of 10 are powered by Intel.

Private chef in NY here- love listening to this conversation while cooking at work.
nice!
I never thought I would see the day where there was a 2xleveraged ETF based on meme coins based on the First Lady
Hybrid work is probably the greatest development that I’ve personally experienced in my lifetime. Game changer
Remote work is even better but 1 day a week hybrid may be the sweet spot since you don't start taking remote days for granted
listening to this now, after the crash and it’s crazy that you guys were talking about this.
Ben has a 15-minute delay on the ticker, Michael is watching 1-minute candles.
It's not about the eggs man, it's FOOD.
Yes, we are an obese nation that spends way too much on food, that’s the point
Batnick's movie taste is always on point!
Regarding Alpha Dog, RIP to the main actor Anton Yelchin
27:16 absolutely wild that you guys were talking about hard landings the day of the plane-heli accident in DC.
Yeah, that was a little spooky!
When I was in college we had our own chef who made all our meals. Of course, our house had about 70 guys living in it so the cost was minimal.
Michael’s 44-48 yo HS graduation observation was weirdly on point. I might ‘hypothetically’ use it cuz it feels more polite. Maybe to me it feels like a play off a ‘never ask a woman her age” thing
I wanna see a full video of these clean dishes 😂😂😂
A man of culture... I love Margin Call.
"have some self respect!" -Micheal to Ben
As a midwesterner too, I get what Ben was talking about but I'm with Michael here!
I’m maxing my 401k and Roth on 120k a year. 30k on over 400k seems kind of low
Shout out to Duncan. Been in Thailand this winter, cause of the time change haven't been able to make the live chat. Miss the regular chatters.
I went to see Gladiator 2 with 4 buddies at the theatre and my one buddy fell asleep and was snoring in the first 20mins (we’re 30 😂)

Anyone thinks Ben looks like Topher Grace. For those who don't know, he was Eddie Brock in the third Maguire Spider-Man.
No one thinks that. His mid forties receding hairline and bad takes ensure he is never confused with a superhero or intelligent money manager.
I see it a little, but it's not a super strong resemblance IMV

Eggs are an ingredient in nearly everything

Adventures in Babysitting is solid... there was a slight remake with Jonah Hill called 'The Sitter' that came out awhile back. 😊

Josh is in Shake Shack having a meal.
Having a chef doesn’t mean the live with you. They can also remake meals for you. $1m salary works

What Larry Fink talked about with Bitcoin is verbatim what the Gold proponents have been saying about gold since the 1970s.

A friend's son was the late Paul Allen's private chef. He may have gone on to work for Bezos.

As a beginner what do I need to do? How can I invest,on which platform? If you know any please share.
Gladiator 2: Michael was NOT entertained.
I gotta say - the Mag7 contributes the vast majority of the earrings growth into the SPY but the professional money class (messers Batnick and Carlson sadly included) still cries concentration! I can’t reconcile the two.
Michael's tshirt is a blatant rip off of The Endless Summer movie poster.
That's by design.

Totally agree. For day and swing trading, I prefer 3x, but for long-term investing, 2x seems to offer the best returns
The All- American Rejects got hot in 2004ish 😂woooooooh
Money is to be spent however they want to spend it is why you will never have a lot of it 😅
gladiator 2 is so goofy, the CGI monkeys are the worst part

Property taxes $570 😂 Come on! That isn't even close even if that was a monthly amount!!
i also watch games on my laptop on mute while watching movies
Why can’t they just make more original movies? Why did they have to make gladiator two and ruin it? Another money grab perhaps
What’s a budget?

Up until 2021 Oct AI meant AGI to all of us.
Now it’s everything, even outsourced Indians are classed as AI now
Old fashioned Google isn't going to be enough to get america out of the amount of debt it has. That isn't an option
