My good sir you are one of the very few peaple who actually explain there reasoning the game has fell of for me in recent memory but its nice to see someone who can explain there point I respect you man
The building mechanic is something that is unlike any game on the market. It's so addictive. The collabs are something I really look forward to as well. While I hate where the story went, I love the build mode and creative maps.
When I played, there wasn’t even a story so I can’t speak on that. However I do agree that it became repetitive. I’ve never played Apex, but I know many people like it. It’s just not my kind of game.
If you like fortnie for the “lore” then I feel sorry for you. It’s on the level of Fnaf where it just forgets stuff and moves on forgetting past events 😂.
Fortnite really was something else whem it came out. For me, it wasnt the gameplay burnout, but just that they dropped all the story they had in favor of a "snow theme" in season 7 since it was getting into the late months of the year. The story was the craziest thing young me could imagine, and im sure a ton of other people would agree. Then the removal of things like 50v50 mode removed any enjoyability the game had, because the new objective based modes just arent that fun.
This video really made me think, because i love hearing about other peoples experiences and takes, and now i am struggling to figure out why i still play, because even when i get new games i always find myself back playing fortnite. it's truly a concept i would like to learn more about and delve into what makes this game so popular.
Exactly, I am so glad you said this because that’s what I wanted to get across. I don’t shame or mean to criticize anyone who enjoys this game. I think this game and the company behind it puts in so much effort that is inspiring to the rest of the industry, I just personally don’t enjoy it; and I want to know why others do.
0:17 BROOOOOOOO THIS HAD ME DYINGGGG 🤣🤣🤣 Its pretty much a crossover game now but thats what I like about it. I love playing as Goku while John Wick and his duo Batman trys to third-party me.
I think what makes Fortnite so enjoyable to many is the accessibility and quality. Even if the game is repetitive, because it is free and easy to get into, people keep playing the game. It’s fun for a few games with friends but it doesn’t last. I think what keeps people playing is either all the hours they already put into the game perfecting their 90s, or the new updates to try them out. even if it isn’t the best game, because it’s free, people try it out. Since it’s constantly announcing their next crazy event, it doesn’t fall into the irrelevancy of Among Us or Fall Guys, making it embarrassing/lame to play.
I've played consistently since chapter 1 season 4, and what I feel like has made me keep playing is the Creative mode. its great for me who wants to be a game dev, also UEFN (Unreal Editor for Fortnite) just released and it has almost all the things you can do in Unreal, In Fortnite for creating maps and games with full coding support. i feel like this is going to make Fortnite more of a Roblox type thing where the battle royale isnt the main mode, but Creative is.
Fortnite is at its funniest when you aren't playing it. Im fine with not paying any money of it but just having hearsay of "oh btw we got rid of a crucial mechanic of our game in favor of Shrek" is all one really needs of it
I remember playing fortnite for a period with my friends in the first few seasons. Was fun, but eventually fizzled out. Fun while it lasted tho, before any crossover stuff ever existed. I've tried fortnite again after the dragon ball stuff. Honestly, eh, not a fan. Fortnite feels like just a "thing". Like, the cross over game that looks cool when you watch footage (unless you've played the game and know how it feels).
When I first played Fortnite battle royale it was before they had a season, shop, or anything so it was a very bare bone game but I still had fun even though it was my first shooting game and I kept losing every match. Back then you would get little rewards for leveling up but not in the traditional battle pass way just the simple 'hey you played enough of the game and leveled up here's a little reward' so I did keep playing. By the time season 1 came out I had asked my older brother to get me the save the world version of the game so I could get free v-bucks from missions and quests, he agreed because he saw the great value it had in the long run plus it was on sale so I ended up getting the founder's deluxe edition of the game. So ever since he got it for me in the amount of money I've saved from earning v-bucks has payed it's self over many times by now and I've been grateful to him every time I talk about it. So in a nutshell I was able to get anything I wanted as long it was bought with v-bucks so I was motivated to play more and more because I knew I could get anything from the in-game shop
(This is the other part of the first comment as my yt app crashed and only posted the upper part instead) While I did take advantage of the free currency part I really and genuinely enjoyed the stw (save the world) version of Fortnite, it was a very interesting game. I believe I was in 8th grade when I had finished half of the storyline that was available at the time because it was still early access. So when the 3rd part got released shortly after I was excited to play even more. I enjoyed Fortnite because I got to play both experiences together which really kept the game fun and fresh. But it wouldn't last forever as it was announced the 4th part of Fortnite stw would be cut short, it wasn't until they released the last bit of content that I had realized just how much was cut down. From then and now there's no real concussion or let's say a proper ending to Fortnite stw or even a storyline to the last zone you were supposed to finish, what felt like a fun roller coaster had just been stopped completely. I was devastated to find out that they have neglected what made Fortnite stw such a good game for me. It became stale, sure I was able to earn free v-bucks but I thought to myself what's the point of playing if they are going to end the game like this. While I did still play battle royale (even though I didn't play a whole lot like others) I only focused on xp and rewards mainly because it was the only way to fill that missing content I never got in stw. So while yes the battle pass and it's crossover skins kept me playing it didn't feel the same anymore. I only saw the corporate greed to keep battle royale alive instead of what made Fortnite, well Fortnite, it had essentially killed it's roots. When I did play I only played for as little as possible while still finishing the pass and the bonus rewards and why I did it is probably because I didn't want to miss out on the cool stuff they had in each season. The only reason why I feel back in love with Fortnite is because they had started to give new life to the stw mode, and for once I felt happy to play my favorite mode once again, it's been so deprived of content that when they added a new hero and weapon set I was happy to play it once more with new content. This happened last year around late summer so after what 3-4+ years of nothing I was glad to return. After that they started to add more plus the overhaul they made to the battle royale mode too in the time I wasn't keeping up with the latest Fortnite news I was just simply playing every 1-2 days every week or other week. I guess once I found out Fortnite as a whole was improving all across I just remembered the good years I've had with this game, from 6th grade to now my late senior year of school.
@@memelord705 yup and they finally gave stw a proper update by releasing horde rush. Unfortunately (too me) it’s gunna be like Minecraft and I’ll get bored of it after a month 🤷♂️ .
I’ve honestly never really been into Fortnite. I enjoy watching those who are genuinely good at it, but because of the building mechanic, I could never deal with it. The No build mode is fine, but because of my inexperience with the game, I get dumpstered by the 13 year old on adderall who’s been playing the game for 6 years. I’ve come back a bit for some cosmetics I wanted like Master Chief and Kratos, played a bit, and then dipped out. I just leave it on my SSD because otherwise it’ll take just too long to redownload and I’ll always have more hard drive space anyway.
@@TheFlipsideShow Same. Honestly I just couldn't get into BR's until Warzone came out right at the start of the pandemic. That game's engine is just perfect and then they fucked it with Warzone 2, lol.
i remember recreating an """ambulance challenge""" video i saw where the guy got a golf cart and then when the battle started raging he was just helping and healing people. did it with my friend and it was probably one of the most fun experiences i ever had
I've had the same kind of issues regarding the game and where it stands for me, along woth my friend group; there were times before when we would play it pretty consistantly, but after a while it just grew tiring to have to go back through again and be either greeted with a 20 minute long match and actually win sometimes, or pop into the game and immediately find myself, or a buddy of mine, already having gotten down by a sweaty tryhard. I admit I used to enjoy playing it, albeit only with friends, but as of a few months ago when we all would play it together, it's just gotten old and repetitive to all of us, but that's just my opinion on it all for me
For me, it is because it is the only game I can play. I play on switch and it has no games that I want. I only play it with friends because when I play by myself I get so mad when I die because it is so buggy. Something that would make me enjoy the game a lot more if they had more game modes to choose from, the last new mode was a new 50v50 a year ago that lasted a few weeks because it was so buggy
Yeah fortnite just doesn’t care about LTM’s anymore. Solid gold has been the only ltm for a while now. They’ve even gotten rid of Imposters because of “UFEN”🙄
I feel you, man, I stopped playing because it boring playing alone and I enjoyed playing it with friends, and then playing with friends got boring so I just decided to stop playing and move to a different game, i now play Valorant which I really enjoy, and yea I feel the same as you the amount of new stuff they add will never get me excited.
Fortnite really does not have any gambling mechanics like you mentioned in the beginning of the video. Its just mosty leveling up, you know what your getting when you buy something
I understand you, I used to play in on switch, garabage gaphics i know, but the 4th season introduced lore, plus crossplay was a thing that I enjoyed, becouse I had no friends at my school and this was the thing that keep me going, I maked friends quickly, I improved my french, English and even my native language, Spanish, because I didn't talked that much to people and this game helped me in doing so. I got to a decent level on general and then the worst happened when switch players were forced to play vs people in phone, my friends stopped playing to play other game, but I didn't, till season 10, I was unable to make any new friends, playing with randoms felt bad, no one had a mic so I could talk to them. My parents divorced around that time and I felt alone, living with my grandparents, but then, when I moved I ended up on a bew high school, all people played Fortnite too, abd I decided to play again, just to find I didn't enjoyed the game, i had never cared about the game, just making friends so I dont feel alone and honestly, when I started going out, i felt like a whole different person as I was with the friends I had in Fortnite, when ai played other games I liked i felt way happier and entertain. It sound silly, but I don't care.
I find the game only fun when you play with friends. To have people share that experience with you, fight with or fight against. Get into make or break battles, and trash talk about how your "better", just to 1v1 and get clapped. But without friends, the game gets pretty stale pretty fast
I thought Fortnite sounded super cool when it first came out, and I was almost tempted to buy it, if it ever came to Steam. And then, they pushed aside the cool looking PvE mode in favour of the free (and far more profitable) battle royale mode, on top of Epic starting to wage this personal vendetta against Steam, so then I just pretty much gave up on it.
I got a lot of playtime in it as well as purchased a ton of vbucks over the years, so it's hard for me to quit it with everything I put into it. Plus I find it fun leveling up and collecting the skins and emotes that I like, as well as getting good kills and always having that possibility of getting a win.
I enjoy Fortnite because I got burnt out on call of duty they started changing and arnt the same a couple years ago. I keep going to Fortnite because the no build mode makes it fun and they add so much every update to keep it fresh. But they are good at fomo I always want more new skins constantly looking what’s new. I think they get people hooked on the cosmetics aswell as the gameplay but i just am over cod so I play Fortnite

I'm probably going never going to play this game, but you did sound pretty reasonable. I'm not really as big of an AoT fan as you are and think Eren is just a Gundam protagonist with superpowers but besides that I think I might've dodged a bullet by never playing this game, I thank CoD MW2 and Black Ops for killing my interest in multiplayer games, if it hadn't been for how much I hated the mps in those games, I would probably would be playing Fornite. Fornite does seem more fun than those games, it just seems it's monetary practices are rather questionable.
