Can we just take a minute to acknowledge what a great guy Chad is? Always helping others.
I second that
Chad is the man !!! No questions asked .. only if he were better at elec. wiring ! Bahaha
A modest man, I can tell.
Chad is Definitely a Great Guy !
It's almost to the point where these guys are taking advantage of him.😢
I think I can speak for everyone when I say that it's always great to see Dar swing by the shop. Just like old times!
He who smiles when things go wrong, has thought of someone to blame it all on!
yup poor Hunter .
Well, if you're not in the shop on that day, it's either Sean did it or Hunter did it, LOL.😂😂😂😂 IT'S NEVER the bosses fault, is it Michelle.😂😂😂 😅
Love the way the RatBack is coming together. Thought I would mention that Chad is a great guy who really cares about helping out his friends. You guys are lucky to have him for a friend.
For everyone that doesn't live in a dry climate and has no idea what a swamp cooler is. It's an evaporative cooler. It blows a big fan across pads that are soaked with water. The water evaporates cooling the air and adding a bit of humidity. They work awesome in dry climates but are useless in humid areas.
They work awesome until the dew point hits around 55 degrees, then its like living in Florida
Also swamp coolers are the home of legionaires bacteria. Any and every shower head, fountain, or any spraying water should be checked or just treated.
I worked in a large call center in Tampa, and each building had a large swamp cooler outside.
We've had to do a lot of mold remediation over the years here in Tropical Florida due to their attempted use. Sadly there are still local companies selling them to poor folks who don't understand what the dangers are.
Too often in the past all that could be saved afterwards was the framing and the roof leaving the poor souls in shock as they saw their home stripped of all the interior partitions, insulation, carpeting, etc, etc with just the roof supported by the bare studs left behind. Then the real work starts of cleaning everything left behind with ammonium chloride, re-sheathing, setting up positive air pressure, de-humidification, etc, etc before the work of rebuilding really begins. Soft goods that couldn't be disinfected would have to be destroyed with perhaps digital copies made of family photo albums etc. We would try to find one exterior partition to leave the sheathing on as that would save the owner on permitting, engineering fees, etc.
Today it has gotten a bit easier with the foggers that can be used to kill the spores even inside wall cavities however in not so distant past it was brutal.
Best!
Just a tip for a dual tire set up, put the valve stems 180 degrees from each other. It helps with balance and shaking issues
I hope they got the valve stems lined up with holes in the outer wheels. One truck I drove with aluminum wheels, I had to get little extenders for the inside wheels to get an air chuck on them.
Good idea.
-- "Hunter went home and everything fell apart." ~ Paul Cox, 2024. Hey Hunter. I say that's the best compliment Paul ever gave you. He reveres and worships you as a son. In his dreams, he throws rose pedals beneath your every step. Give the old guy a hug. I know I appreciate it too. To get my attention, my nephew crashes his R/C aircraft into my house. Love that boy.
Hunter isn't related to Paul despite having the same last name.
@@BaltimoreShipspotting -- Aware of that. But thanks.
Hunter has a dad I believe he should spend more time with him
@@ShaneFawnl76what hang out dad instead of working yeah grate way to get somewhere in life
@@beartiger1553 who are we hurting when we say stepdad who feels that pain and would love to have a relationship with their son when they're still alive can we respect that. And then the three kids real dad wouldn't they loved that time and energy instead of giving to someone else
Bump starting in the parking lot... priceless.
Chad Carter AND Papa Dar in the same video Must be ratings week! Love it.
What a sweet truck Landon's got. Love the square bodies. He's learned so much from his dad. Hi-5 Landon
Chad is a great all around guy , he be's everywhere helping people out . Paul can't wait to see it done and the 55 doing burn outs .
"She's a Grocery Getter" LOL'd at that one!
Glad to see Chads Fab show up to help ...he been helping everyone lately...the rollback is looking awesome and super strong
Amazing how things start working when Chad shows up! Kudos to the professor!
Out of all the channels i used to watch like religiously this one is the only one that has seemed more genuine and therfore i still watch every video 😂
Vise Grip Garage is good. DD Speed shop, Pudding fab.

The Rat Back is amaaaaaaazing! It may not be the original plan but there should be NO disappointments!🙌
You need space between your duels because the bottom of your tire bulges under load. You don't want the bulges to touch each other. When they do , it creates heat in the sidewalls, resulting in a failure/blowout.
As long as it looks good is what matters
Don't forget mud flaps or DOT will remind you with a prize😮
The bed sticks out far enough that they won't be necessary
@@Jizden_Mipanz Wrong! ... They need to be on a dually unless there is bodywork that stops anything this is thrown rearward from between the tires.
Chad is a great guy!
Fab Rats gives a whole new meaning to grocery getter. Greatest channel ever... ❤
The dual wheels. Best add on yet. going to looks 100% better.
Ok, since it's a diesel...how about a diesel version of "Name that part" with Michelle. We haven't seen that segment for a while
Everyone is trimming up for the summer. Michelle is the most noticeable, great job and thanks for the motivation! Looking good team! I think I'll join you and shed some of this extra me. The duals, epic... What a great build.
Ain't she BEAUTIFUL!! 💗😍
I love how you make old trucks come to life with new life
Paul you seam to be a great builder keep up the great work
I’m loving the Ratback build Paul.. it’s looking really good.. the duallys really set it apart… excellent addition to the build!
Awesome video! The RatBack is very close to being done! Thanks Chad for helping Paul and the RatBack. Thank you for sharing 👌 😊
That 'Ratback' is an awesome build that is really coming together nicely.
Chad is cool. Please do all your fans a favour and add a safety leg to that hoist so if you ever blow a hose that the bed doesn’t come down on you, especially when you’re loading a vehicle. 👍
Or at least have a piece of dunnage wedged in there for “support “ 🤔
NOT a good idea to use the bed safety when loading.
At all.
The bed supports are ONLY for empty bodies.
A good idea to use for service and repair work .
Michelle looks like she’s been gettin in shape! Lookin good 👍 Healthy body healthy mind!!
We love the Ratback, it really is a cool, useful rig to have in the Fab Rats fleet. We also love seeing Michelle and Paul going for test rides, a fun short cruise in one of the fleet rigs, on a trail ride, on a recovery and so on. Paul and Michelle are a pretty cool couple raising pretty cool kids and doing pretty cool things on RUclips, no doubt.
Hunter learned a lot while filming and working on vehicles. His Dad teaches him a lot also and he will be glad he knows how to work on his own vehicle when he starts his own Family.
Fab Rats is building a pretty awesome fleet of vehicles.
Both the Ratback and Michelle are Lookin Fine this beautiful Sunday Morning... Thanks for the Video..
That’s so creepy.
@@justingould7348 if Compliments creep ya out you've got some real issues..
Put the two Grandmothers in the Ratback and let Thelma & Louise loose with it. That would be so COOL !
All of you people that say they never finish anything they do more than everybody else. He makes sure to get his priorities engine drive train tires, suspension, and rockin’ stereo! Shoot, I’ve even seen them putting in air-conditioning and heaters in some of these rigs 😂
What a classic Truck and you’ve done awesome no matter what anybody else thinks Paul👏👍✊🇺🇸😎
Need some nice mudflaps with the FabRats logo.😎
Gotta love an old Chevy grain truck remade into something Awesome!
So awesome to see another derby car. Where it all began EZ DUZ IT RACING!!! Hope to see paul and Landon go at it one day in a derby!
They make a super single that handle weight as duals
The old-time radio brings back a lot of installation memories.
Remember doing that with a couple cars years ago we always had to put an equalizer in too
That yruck is turning out Badass!! The Duals made the Truck.
Love seeing Jayce in the videos. Would love to see more of his Dakota.
@FabRats #1 in ONX build!! It's about time!
I can tell you from experience you will have to put a stabilizer arm on those mirrors or they will vibrate so bad you won’t be able to see anything
Ratback is looking really good! Time to add some work lights, cab lights, tail lights and maybe even a small LED lightbar on the headache rack.
the duallies look great on the truck, really coming together now, thanks for sharing
I think those stem radios were typically suspended on the back so you could get a good angle. They have the long stems because you'd set them back in lift the back so the face would be more visible. The knobs wouldn't be perfectly square with the face of the dash, but the face plate would snug up and make it look square.
What he said, also the filler chrome plate also goes behind the dashboard to allow the radio to fit the opening in the dash without the know sitting stuck all the way out.
Trust me I have installed hundreds of them in classic cars
Just make sure that you carry a good quality rock removal tool( crow bar) because it don’t matter if the tires are tight together or 6 inches apart the trail will provide a rock just the perfect size to jam between the tire…wedging the crow bar between the rim and the ground so the rock will be forced out then driving forward slowly..we cut our crow bar so that it wouldn’t hit the underside of the bed when standing on the ground..
Don’t take this as criticism let’s call it a design suggestion I would like to see the fenders to be bigger and longer . The RatBack looks awesome.
Great to see you in the shop Chad! 🙂
The Rat Back is kickin. I think Matt is jealous because Rory has a trlr, and you have the Rat Back 😊 God Bless
POINT OF CONTENTION
Toyota minimotorhomes had a single wheel rear-end with dually adapters on it and there were major issues with that set up .... I hope technology has improved the metallic strength & engineering of this idea .... I suggest keeping an eye on it and watch for signs of shearing on the adapter bolts both wheels as they toy homes would lose rear wheel alot till they went with a true dually rear-end.....
Just sharing some information
Be well
ive got 2 toyota mini motorhomes 1986 minus the motorhomes. awesome little trucks. never had a dually problem
By then they went too factory dually axles
When started toyota sold pickup cab & chassis too RV builder with standard rear ends & RV builders added dually adapters
.........
I also have an 86 cab & chassis I took the cabin off of & yes they make cool functional trucks & can haul because of the dually axle ......
The EDITING in the Fab Rats videos has been spot-on awesome...Video Editor, you know who you are and you're killin' it. 🎯 💯 👍
Really happy to see the upgrade to dual tires. The singles were just not enough. Glad to see Chad down to play… keep it up FabRats
Don’t forget a LARGE pry bar for when a Rock gets STUCK between the duo’s tires🤦🏼♂️
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT A GOOD LOOKIN COUPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SHE LOOKS YOUNGER EVERYTIME SHE SHOWS UP ON THE VIDEOS!!! GOOD FOR YOU,,,,,,PAUL!
I like it when you read my mind, I'm thinking "that fender needs a radius" and then you do it! 😁
I’m a dodge Cummins guy, and this is one of my favorite builds! Thanks guys! Hope to swing by sometime this summer in my way thru. Maybe I’ll have a giant 5th wheel in tow? Who knows!
Michelle, glad to see you. You add a lot to each video you are on here. Awesome truck also.
11:38 Jeeeeeess Hunter, Paul is working on that Ratback, and you're working on a dump truck
R.I.P Michelle's dad, he fathered a Beautiful, Sweet, Caring Lady/ Mom. 🙏 I'm jus say'n Flodaddy ❤
Don’t ever let the sidewalls touch under a load because they’ll not last. That would be your desired spacing. 👍🤠
How about running a steel wheel on the inside of the duals
Riv nuts have been a great addition to car builds. I remember when western mirror would strip the bolt hole and fall off. Or, slap other passing truck mirrors. Paul, you should put matching headliner, door and kick panels to match the seat. Also tan rubber floor mats, to match red Utah mud.
This has become one of my favorite channels…. I’d really like to see you guys restore Lando’s Red truck with paint and bad ass bumpers and lights and stuff 🤷♂️…. I know he’d love it and it’d make for good content! Love those old square body’s
Seat belts please guys will save your life in an accident fantastic truck, best wishes from the UK
so I told a friend about your channel and now he's hooked. Came by today and brought me a Fabrat's shirt he ordered from you.
Michelle looking fantastic these days. Congrats on the weight loss
The duals really set the look. It looked good singled up. But the duels make it look beefy and ready to work.
Hi Chad the Fabulous. Hi Michelle!
Can't wait to see Landon and Jace Derby. Ratback looks good with dually's
Those rear dual tires make the truck look all business! Now it's time to go out and own the recovery business in your area Paul! Oh, and take Hunter with you, to hold things all together too!
If you're going to air down you may need up to two inches between the tires. When aired down the sidewalls shouldn't touch. Great build
Gotta love Paul and the crew; all that effort to build a shopping truck LOL
You guys are just awesome, love the work you do and the way you present your art! Great family!
The ol’ eyechrometer is Chad approved. Priceless!!!😅
It was a good thing that you installed the dually tires, so that you could pick up the hamburger pattys. Looking so sharp.
Don’t forget your mudflaps now that you’ve got duals.
I like the color combination on the cab, it would be awesome to just have Robbie polish it up a little and give it a clear coat to keep it like that. And yes, the duals look good too.
Cause I’m glad you guys went with the Dooley set up made the ratback more stable and safer to drive
I love watching your videos it's the first thing I look at when I get up in the morning,
A little wide but stable... The exact words ive used to describe my wife whats her name after over 30 years of marriage. Love you guys, family, and friends.
I love duals!! Back in the day, I installed 18" GMC duals on my 69 F250, after enlarging the center hole... I loved that truck!! For a 2wd, it could go anywhere.. Also installed 1 ton springs on all 4 corners. 390 w/4v and headers made top end unbelievable. Just ask the Massac Co. IL Police..😮
I made it to my mom's house just in time to listen to "the chase" on her scanner.. LOL
No, they didn't/couldn't catch me... 😮😅😂
Looking good so glad to see Michelle happy! So sad about her dad I know how that feels !!👍🏻😎😇🙏🦅🇺🇸
Love this build!! Pretty sure that chrome radio bezel that’s on the outside of the dash is supposed to go behind the dashboard and the control panel should be flush with the dash.
Great job guys. Thank you 😊
The Rat back looks awesome with duals.
The rat back looks awesome with the duallys!
Glad you kept the name Rat Back 😅
The duals totally beefed up the look of that truck!! And of course capacity and stability!!
Yes the duel's are installed on the Rat Back and the fenders look good. Nice that Chad stopped by to help out. Papa Dar stopped by to check out Paul's chair for comfort. Grandma Lolly checked in to see what was going on in the shop. Landon and Jace are making a demolition derby car. Nice to see Michelle getting her first ride in the Rat Back and is happy with it!
About time you had Chad do some solid work and done the right way
Love watching you guys, you should come to the Payson Veterans home car show on June 22, they would love it.
Top notch build on the ratback.
Looks AWESOME!!
Well, if you're not in the shop on that day, it's either Sean did it or Hunter did it, LOL.😂😂😂😂 IT'S NEVER the bosses fault, is it Michelle.😂😂😂
Good morning ,
When you know the difficulty of welding Aluminum, this wire welder seems to work wonderfully, surprising, really.
Sounded good and will take Paul's word for it riding & driving nice. Would be nice to see the overall truck now with the fender lips on the bed & dualies on the ground!
The Rat back is looking tough. My favorite, 49 Chevy Fat fender Truck..
GOOD JOB!
