Love seeing Landon being more active in the shop, he seems to be more and more comfortable with what he does and also, more friendly with the camera in his face. He has some great teachers!
@@KyleC2OO7honestly subwoofers in a cab that small are pretty unnecessary anyways. But Paul seems to really like them and I guess that's all that matters
G'day from Down under. I have been following your U Tube for many years and have enjoyed them. On July 4th my wife and I are celebrating our 72nd wedding anniversary A great day for us as well. Carl and Pippy.
It may just be a camera thing, but this truck scares me whenever I see it with something on the bed . Air bags can stop squat, but they don’t change weight distribution.
The axle on a roll back are usually dead center on the bed. So as long as the heaviest part of the car is towards towards the front it's mint. Plus the heavy diesel engine way out front. Even with a car on the back I bet it's front heavy
I remember it like yesterday, watching Grandpa Sherman helping take the front clip off of Landon's truck. 3 generations working on a shared project and boy oh boy what a moment for me. being able to share that experience. Great selection.
On the carpet over the amp. Take the amp out, put the carpet down, put the amp back in. Youll thank me later. Maybe build a removable shroud to keep rocks and bugs from damaging that beautiful camaro! Good job on everything you guys do!!
I'll drive it anywhere, that's exactly what you should have when Chad's finished with it. Between the RatBack and the Towtruck, you have all you need for recovery vehicles for your area. Great video, and best of luck with this truck
That frickin R-back is amazing...keep your chest sticking out when you drive it Paul!!.... you've done dam good (with the whole teams help)....thanks for taking us along on this journey !!
I had the pleasure of being in Southern Utah, last year and got the opportunity to meet the Fab Rats team, they don’t disappoint. What you see on RUclips, that’s how they’re in real life. Paul and he’s team are a pleasure to talk to them. Also bought merch, now I think why didn’t I buy more shirts. ha
Love the show and family values that come with it. We were on a family road trip vacation stopped by the fabrats for the first time. Grandma Lolly was great!!! She informed us you guys were on a family vacation at the same time. Got some merch and pics of the sweet rigs. Keep up the awesome channel!! Ps Michelle dont worry about the negative Nancys.
Hey guys. I was camping in Flagstaff this past week with some good friends for their 50th wedding anniversary. One of their friends was wearing a MOSG shirt and I had to ask about it. Turns out he was at Glamis for Merlin's b-day bash. Evidently, he helped Graydon with his go-kart and spent some time working on Michele's buggy. He's a retired dentist named Todd. A really nice guy and a lot of fun. Small world.
Lots of great comments, the long awaited first haul of the Rat back wonderful to see that is one hot looking rollback, great effort has paid off it looks like.
I use those breaker switches on builds for protection and to kill power to the main harness feed. Works great when they are stored for any potential electrical problems. Most importantly, if you're in a highly populated area and worried about theft. You push the button, open the circuit, and nothing happens if you try to start it. Have one already installed on a 1981 K20 Restoration build, I am doing.
I was going over some of the past videos, And the barn find of the firebird brought tears to my eyes'. That was a very special barn find with a great story behind it. Awesome!
Man we love this '49 Chevy Rat Back and all that the Fab Rats crew have improved on her! Grandma Lolly and Michelle approve and next it will go to Chad and let him and his guys work their magic on the electrical wiring harness. Good video! Nice to see Landon working with his Dad and Sean and gaining in experience.
19:42 - I love the stacks... but... would pointing them a lil further out help not soot up what you are hauling. I see that beautiful firebird with soot cannons aimed at it.
I know a lot of what you'll be getting with the ratback is jeep type vehicles, but that bed doesn't look long enough if you need to haul a pickup and get all 4 wheels on it.
14:49 Honestly Paul don’t leave it car audio amplifiers definitely need breathing room if anything take the amp out mount it on top of the carpet and then cut slits to run your wires. You will starve that poor amp of air and it will be cooked before you know it
At 14:23 Paul tells us he dreams all the time. When I am involved in a building project I am known to dream about building it and working out solutions. Only a lot of my "dreams" are musically scored by Alice Cooper, a rock singer from my youth, the theme song playing is "Welcome To My Nightmare".
Looking good. I drove through Glendale today on my way home to Tucson from SLC. I was hoping to stop and buy some goodies, but we were short on time. Enjoy all of your videos and hope all is well for you and your family.
That Firbird cleaned up would well! Looks like he had the ceramic coat done on that also. What a barn find that was way back in the beginning of Fab Rats.
I think it's great that Landon wants the wrecker. It was Paul's dad's, now it's Paul's, seems fitting that it goes to Landon, eventually, many, many years down the road.
It was a long and sometimes tough journey to get to this point, but I'm proud of you and your team Paul! I have looked forward to seeing the RatBack hit the road!
Nice job guy's, that Rat Back is a Masterpiece truly. Its great to finally see it 95%done it will be 100% when Chad is done with it. What a great addition to your fleet. Everybody has done a fine job on it. Thanks for the video guy's can't wait for the next one.
I drive my dully everywhere, and I love it,😁👍, there's something a-bit different about Landon lately, I just can't put my finger on it yet,🤔, good-job with the truck guys!,😉👍, and thanks for sharing.
Landon I do understand why you picked that truck it has the sole of your grandpa and the soul of your dad I understand completely so does your dad like seen it in his eyes❤
What a very cool truck Fab Rats crew, you all outdid yourselves on this one. Go old school with tuck and roll or diamond pleat headliner, in this old girl would be the cats meow. Just sayin.
Love seeing Landon being more active in the shop, he seems to be more and more comfortable with what he does and also, more friendly with the camera in his face. He has some great teachers!
Landon's pick was 100% right, Grandpa Sherm's tow truck has to be the most sentimental in your entire fleet of kick ass rigs. Good kid you got there
❤ I d been upset with Landon if grandpa s truck wasn't his pick....
Going to be a very nice Tow Rig
Grandpa Sherm's...
Jellyfish launcher!
😄😆😅😂🤣😂🤣
Is Landon the eldest?
@samramone84 no..Jace is....the the daughter "Gracy" is the baby..
“Shut up Hunter!” 😂 The dynamic between those two is priceless!!! 😅 👍
@@chrisjohnson5888 probably because they dont film much of their life outside the shop
True. I had a good laugh as well. Priceless.
As a retired diesel tech, I love Paul's smile when he gets something running.
You guys did a great job putting this rollback together....turned out really great...thanks for allowing us to watch this build...
The roll back is awesome but the firebird stole the thunder
thats a hard coin throw there !
Guys, I’m tellin’ ya, turn the subwoofer enclosure around so it fires against the back of the cab. It’ll sound a LOT better.
It would rattle some stuff, if placed like you’re saying. With subs that small in that small of a space they’re fine like they are.
@@KyleC2OO7honestly subwoofers in a cab that small are pretty unnecessary anyways. But Paul seems to really like them and I guess that's all that matters
I thought about a subwoofer for my standard cab HiLux. Went with small 6x9's behind the seat. Sounds pretty good.
G'day from Down under. I have been following your U Tube for many years and have enjoyed them. On July 4th my wife and I are celebrating our 72nd wedding anniversary A great day for us as well. Carl and Pippy.
Congratulations
Congratulations! That’s something to said! 72 years. Wow! Happy anniversary!
I like how you mix new with old things and the fact that you can roll with surface rust and it never gets too bad so wonderful.
It may just be a camera thing, but this truck scares me whenever I see it with something on the bed . Air bags can stop squat, but they don’t change weight distribution.
I agree. I wanted them to extend the frame and add a drop axel or just a free rolling full time axel so it looked like a semi.
They can just put some extra weight on the front bumper.
Come on, as long as they tie the car down good they’ll be able to wheelie the truck. How cool is that?
Love to Rat Back! Awesome job.
The axle on a roll back are usually dead center on the bed. So as long as the heaviest part of the car is towards towards the front it's mint. Plus the heavy diesel engine way out front. Even with a car on the back I bet it's front heavy
Now I want a Jellyfish launcher!
Buy a Tacoma. They're standard equipment.
Made me think of squid gun from despicable me!

Firebird, not a Camaro.
Good morning! Have an awesome week team Fab Rats!
You nailed it with this project, Paul. This truck has so much character and originality. I love it.
I'll drive it anywhere, that's exactly what you should have when Chad's finished with it. Between the RatBack and the Towtruck, you have all you need for recovery vehicles for your area. Great video, and best of luck with this truck
The Ratback is coming together. Looking good inside the cab as well as the outside. The Jellyfish Launcher is a must have!
Landon is going to make one heck of a fabricator...
I was thinking comedian! Baha
Never showed the end result of Sean’s work on the sway bar ..
Wow; The Old Chevy truck and the Firebird on the Back. What a Car Lovers Dream. Real Luxury too. Thanks for this great video!

PAUL THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR BEING A GREAT DAD, AND MICHELLE FOR RAISING THE TRIBE WITH AWESOME MANNERS AND RESPECT FOR HUMANS!! GOD BLESS YOU ALL

Right amber emergency lights on top are a must as well.
Paul your kids should have everything that you own
Lots of great comments, the long awaited first haul of the Rat back wonderful to see that is one hot looking rollback, great effort has paid off it looks like.
Landon's "Pick" for his Grandpa's Truck and the look in his eyes 😢made me tear up. Grampa Sherm is VERY Proud ❤👍🏼🙏
Great Job Y'all ❤️
Your Firebird is beautiful. Saw one set up like yours at a gas station years ago and fell in LOVE.
You should give Shawn and Landon raise they dothe real work. Like putting on the sway bar on, while you screw a speaker box to the cab.
Nice to see the Firebird and the rollback looks awesome!
That’s a sweet roll back, looks even sweeter with that classic Firebird on there!

I have never viewed a video from this channel and wished that I had that time back.
Ratback is awesome guys!
Paul, I feel your pain. My son told me (4 yrs. old), " I want your Jeep when you are dead." I guess it's an heirloom Wrangler!
I had a 68 Firebird 350 HO same color. Sure brings back memories everytime I see your 'Bird.
Great to see the Ratback rolling with a car on the deck! Great job, guys!

I swear the trio Sean, Hunter and Land' has a special synergy of fun, energy and knowledge ! Clap
I know a lot of what you'll be getting with the ratback is jeep type vehicles, but that bed doesn't look long enough if you need to haul a pickup and get all 4 wheels on it.
IMHO ... The rear axle is to far forward. Heavier loads will cause it to " wheelie " going up steeper hills.
Paul you are amazing that ratback with the firebird on the back was beautiful

Rat Back is looking really cool.
Great team interaction.
Those electric windows are super dang cool. You guys are doing a great job. It's really coming together.
Papa Dar deserved a ride. Great family dynamics here. 😊😊😊
Paul stretched his jeep long ago.
The Rat back is getting a lot closer to being finished. Looking pretty good.
That's one badass Rig Paul !! Nice job guy's
Absolutely coolest flat bed period looks freaking awesome great job guys love it
Really nice to see all the modern upgrades in an older truck. ! 👍
The Ratback is looking pretty sweet!! I'm gonna love seeing it do some recoveries!!!
The dual wheels and sway bar save the day . 😊
Mount the Amp on top of the carpet with shims to give it breathing room under. Looks good!
Yet another great Fab Rats video watched by so many people. Love our Fab Rats.
What a fantastic build. Very nice work Gentlemen.
The truck is perty sweet. It will even put a smile on merlin's face.
The ratback it's coming together beautifully 😍
The cool factor of that is over the top. Love it
Looks way better with duals 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸
Awesome! I love that vintage Rollback truck!
That AMP is going to cook itself, should mount on top of carpet! Dont let the tunes fails move it on top!
Truck looks awesome! Sounds even better!
I think it's great that Landon wants the wrecker. It was Paul's dad's, now it's Paul's, seems fitting that it goes to Landon, eventually, many, many years down the road.
That is one badass looking ramp truck. You guys killed it with that build.
I'm loving the Rat Back. Nice job guys. It's a really good look.
It was a long and sometimes tough journey to get to this point, but I'm proud of you and your team Paul! I have looked forward to seeing the RatBack hit the road!
Love the stance of that truck, thanks for the best entertainment.

The bird on the back, love that car the way it is.
Love this build. Best looking tow rig on RUclips 😊
I LOVE THAT TRUCK. Great build. Thanks for sharing
I think you should add some sort of structure to the back to act as a bumper and a better place for brake/tail lights and back up lights
greetings from Ireland WOW the rig looks savage well done team Fab Rats
I drive my dully everywhere, and I love it,😁👍, there's something a-bit different about Landon lately, I just can't put my finger on it yet,🤔, good-job with the truck guys!,😉👍, and thanks for sharing.
Hey Paul, don't bury that amp under the carpet! Amps need air to cool the heat fins + the carpet will keep the heat in. You'll cook it.
The RatBack is frickin awesome. Nice work.
Paul, great job! You and your helpers know how to get her done!
Awesome build!! Well done Fab Rats crew!!
That Ratback is looking AAHHHH-MAZING!!! Some nice swooping fender flairs on the front would wrap that up extremely nice!
Runs nice and smooth. The Camero fits really good on it too.
'67 Firebird (not Camero😵💫)
Landon I do understand why you picked that truck it has the sole of your grandpa and the soul of your dad I understand completely so does your dad like seen it in his eyes❤
That truck is special to Paul and it shows. Very Cool. Just had to add the sherry on top. Firebird
Can’t wait to see the Ratback with your Fab Rats logo.
Paul Your flatbed truck looks awesome. That truck, it's gonna be with some trophies. At car show.
The Rat-Back turned out awesome !….This is one of my favourite builds along with the Golden-Nugget and FJ.
The Ratback is a really nice looking truck. Every mod has been a challenge but, you guys did a great job and it relly turned out awesome.
Love that Paul puts good sound in his vehicles. 🤘
Yall have made some really cool stuff but this one is my favorite!
Y'all are quick ✓ it's so cool to see what's going to be next .
That front bumper is sweet!
When you drop something into the engine bay, the sweetest sound it when it hits the floor and knowing its not stuck somewhere. haha
What a very cool truck Fab Rats crew, you all outdid yourselves on this one. Go old school with tuck and roll or diamond pleat headliner, in this old girl would be the cats meow. Just sayin.
Came together really nice. Well done Team Fab Rats! 💪👍🏼
