Exactly. Houseboats are a great idea but only if your moorage costs are low. They rarely are. People really like living on the water though. Very peaceful. Keep in mind sound carries very well over water so if anyone is noisy around you, watch out.

People are going up to lakes and bays and having these house boats built and living on them. A lot of cottage and permanent house dwellers are complaining these house boats are unsightly because the owners dock them anywhere they want

I live in Nova Scotia and we don't even get snow for Christmas. I shoveled once last year and we had more rain than snow. The grass was green all Winter. Canada is huge and has many climates. The weather isn't the same as when I was a kid and had to wear a snowsuit for Halloween because it was so cold.
