But it's more fun to limit yourself and do weird challenges. I'm playing it right now, limiting myself to only Insects, and it's quite challenging.
Fun fact about this game. When you defeat Heishin in the Vast Shrine, the background in the proceeding cutscene is different to the cutscene from before the battle. Fun fact about Duelist of the Roses, Darknite and Manawydan Fab Lyyr (or however the fuck you spell it) are brothers.

Like Rex, Weevil, Keith, and Mai weren't in the ancient portion, only the modern portion). That makes me wonder though, is Richard Slysheen a Descendant of Heishin? They look similar but Heishin freaking died. Who knows, maybe he had a certain someone Konami didn't want us to know about. Oh my god, maybe Richard is the descendant of Heishin and that one lady from the palace. O.O'

Thats basically how I played the game as a kid, one of my friends had a memory card with every card unlocked and we just made random op decks to play the game.
I didn't have that. Instead we had to grind mediocre cards for weeks and then retry each duel a million times to get the right hand. It became a little easier when I found I could buy my physical Jirai Gumo card in the game for ONLY 80 stars.
Same here, but I had more fun in my twin-headed thunder dragon run. I mean I had a fun time grinding to get Meteor Black Dragon without cloning, but after I got it, the runs became waaay too easy, and I didnt had megamorph or bright castle either. My twin headed run tho? Now that was fun, to find a way to beat the three headed ultimate dragom of Nightmare with my fusion twin head
This is the equivalent of playing a New Game Plus on Beginner Mode with max stats, and yet you still managed to turn it into something fun and interesting. Still a huge fan of the storytelling and trivia aspects of all of these runs!

I just found out about this videos recently and have been loving them. I have a huge soft spot for forbidden memories, and I love seeing it played through with different decks, and the commentary you give is extremely entertaining, making these a joy to watch.
This deck was basically what a lot of kids thought the best deck was on the playground in real life not knowing you can’t have blue eyes ultimate dragon in your main deck and just summon it.

As fun as challenge runs can be, it is very satisfying to play this game with an overpowered deck and just steamroll through everything.
