this game is so immersive that it simulates my horrific sense of direction
May the Lord watch over you.
Hopelessly Lost in the Forest Simulator
The game is so good and honestly so easy and there's no such thing as to immersive I'm hoping the 2nd is much harder. If you don't play on hardcore games very easy even then it is but it's atleast a little challenging in the beginning
Then you should play its hardcore mode which removes the UI almost completely and removes your marker from the map so you have to use points of interests and landmarks to navigate
@@cy_pher03 the other day I got lost in the forest in the night somewhere west of Sasau, and wandered around trying to find a clearing so I could see the stars and figure out which way was north.
Sir Hans is one of the best written side character ever. You immediately hate him, but soon learn to love him. And their friendship is one of the most natural one from any media. Jan Vavra is a great writer.
Lmao, "Jan Vavra" :D It is Dan. There is Jan Valta, who is a composer.
I like Sir Hanush quotes, sometimes funny, mad, polite, even arrogant af, but he's a really good representation of the character. " Why not? Someone made a priest of a pig" LOL
Kingdom come deliverance made me realize how much of a medieval geek I saw, As if Game of Thrones and the Witcher 3 weren't enough
Does it come close to Witcher?
@@emin62bek It's a good game in it's own right but they aren't comparable other than being medieval or medieval adjacent
@@emin62bek Witcher 3 is my favourite game of all time. Kingdom Come is also my favourite game of all time. And RDR2. These three are just the best.
Did you watch The Last Kingdom?
@@InfinityReptar yes, it's definitely on par in GOT
Kingdom come deliverance is one of my most favorite RPGs of all time, absolute gem! It wasn't perfect but i enjoyed it. Can't wait for the next chapter!
Agreed one of my all time favorites cant wait for 2 been waiting years lol
Kingdom come deliverance went from Kickstarter to now having millions of players and much bigger budget for the sequel, Great to see
It's one of, if not, the best crowd funded gaming story
And about 20 times the people working on it
I'm plugging my ears and humming because I don't have a next Gen console to play it...😢
I know makes me very very happy I remember the Kickstarter days look how far we've come lolll
@@robcampion9917 They grew "just" by around 100 people compare to finishing the first game. Initial group of 10 folks starting the studio was probably in a pub "Let's make a middle ages game without dragons"
If anyone is watching this video and is thinking about trying this game out. DO IT. I was skeptical going in but it was $7 one day so I said “to hell with it”. I wasn’t sure I would like the combat but I was fairly sure I’d like the rpg elements since I love Skyrim, oblivion, etc. I ended up really enjoying it. It’s very deep and there are many ways to deal with situations. I also really love the medieval setting without the magic of fantasy games since I’ve always been a history buff and this scratches my gaming and history itch.
To anyone who does try it out, I played it three times, the first two runs was painfully painful. But here’s a tip on my third run that made everything so much easier
TRAIN! TRAIN! FUCKING TRAIN! when you can train, train your ass off with that benard guy. Get yourself and your favorite weapon to atleast level 10, learn the master strike and what not. Pretend you’re on an anime training arc
I assure you, the difference between a well trained Henry and a no trained Henry is sky and day, and the game becomes so much manageable if you do
I just picked it up on a PlayStation sale for $5. I did the first quest but I’m hesitant to continue cause I’m not sure if I’ll like the combat
@@kylinslittlecorner8888 1000% this. The MOMENT you get access to training with him, spend some in game days just training with him. You'll get a ton of stat boosts and more comfortable with the combat overall.
I love how the combat/levels work in this game. You dont become an unkillable murder machine at higher levels which is usually the case in many other games. You can still get your ass kicked if you screw-up your tactics. Big love for the gear too, you go from a holes in me clothes swinging rusty swords to a full blown knight with the swaggiest sword in sight but you have to seriously WORK for that
biggest flaw in combat system is that it punishes you for attacking.
so you end up just waiting to parry and counter attack.
good movement and parrying, and you are invincible
@@spatrk6634 Devs said that master strikes would no longer be OP in the sequel for this exact reason.
@@Cody-qh3os that is good.
one of the best medieval rpgs ever. you can tell how much passion went into it. also the dice game fucken rules love that shit
I've played about 40 hours of this game, and haven't even gotten halfway through the story lol. There's just so much mischief to be had!
The game really is more enjoyable if you do most of the side quests before ever speaking to Radzig at Pirkstein.
Dang... I have 109 hours on two playthroughs combined, and I haven't beaten it yet 😂
@@Cody-qh3os 100 percent agreed, my last play through was the best one cus i did alot of the sidequest before talking to sir radzig. literally going from sasau to uzhits on foot multiple times but it was the godamn best way to play the game.
600h in (don't tell my girlfriend) and going for third time, second time hardcore mode which is more immersive for me..just wondering through the woods is mediational
jayvees videos are more or less him saying "yeeees" and/or "siiick" and im all here for it
oh and don't forget a series of grunts and "hiyahs" too 😅
@@jayveeeee 😆 i forgot about those
8:21 well the towns in this game are based on real towns in the Czech republic (called Bohemia in the time setting). Rattay would be *Rataje nad Sázavou*
also allot of the characters are loosely based on real people from the time too, Radzig Kobyla = Racek Kobyla of Dvorce, Hans Capon = Jan Ptáček of Pirkštejn
Poop button would be a bit much, but I always felt that they should have added an option to save by using the outhouses.
can't wait for KCD 2
Same
My favorite game of all time. You had some impressive early game bow shooting. It's really difficult early on. Good work!
KCD is one of my favorite games of all time. An underrated game i was totally immersed in this game.
This game serves as a perfect example of how to evolve the Elder Scrolls formula, like if TES 6 takes inspiration from KCD I think it will do very well😊
i think i say that twice in this video but it hasn't been up long enough for you to have seen that part yet. great minds think alike eh? 🍻
Guess I don't need es6 when I can get kcd2.
Jayvee has come to see us!
I literally just bought this the other day on my PS5 since it’s $5 rn and last thing I thought I’d see is Jayvee posting about it
How you finding it bro ? I got it on ps5 for 4 bucks lol played 2 hours yesterday and loved it
I’m also curious how you feel about it. I just picked it up on the same sale and I played the intro and it does seem like a fun beautiful game but I’m hesitant cause of the combat
Who turns down a game of Farkle? I’m in awe of your discipline lol
Jayvee we need Part 2
I love this game so much! Super pumped about KCD2. I was less pumped at the harsh words you had about Sir Hans, although, I definitely felt similarly when I first met him.
Finally you did follow up on this, i don't know why but i waited for too long.
This is a great video. I hope you continue to make this series
KCD 2 comes out in 2024.
This channel is about to become a KCD channel, and I'm here for it.
This game is much better than any Bethesda game, and I like all Bethesda games (even Starfield and FO76, yes). Especially in hardcore mode btw. It is just better written, has more interesting quests, fully realized historical setting that does not rely on fantasy gimmicks, physics-driven combat, total focus on immersion. There are imperfections of course (poor facial animations, animation glitches in general) but no game is perfect. I expect KCD2 to be GOTY this year tbh.
It's better than The Witcher 3 and Red Dead redemption 2 too. Everything is so much more realistic and immersive.
Exactly how I feel as well. It'd be nice for bethesda to have competition, for a change.
2:34 funny that you say that, Daniel Vávra one of the makers of this game said that oblivion had a big influence on this game:)
Even the Sunrise and sunset and to the emersion in this game over 300 hours put into KCD …
I'm genuinely excited for KCD2. It seems today, the bigger you're company, the more likely you're game won't work at launch. The trailer, plus the smaller dev team, I think this will be really good. Can't have a worse launch than starfield or cyberpunk
I agree with this. It makes me think of the No mans sky developers and how you just get this massive game with free updates from a relatively small team and the game is beautiful and it works. This is a big reason why I want to support this game even though I’m hesitant due to the nature of the combat
I just finished this game finally a 2nd time and by god I am hyped for 2, such a great unique experience that I have wanted for so damn long especially being more legit and not fantasy (but i love fantasy lol)
It will be the first game in years I buy on launch. It's going to be amazing.
It's the only non magic RPG out there, really. Medieval Dynasty is more like a Medieval Sims game, and Bannerlord is more strategy than RPG. Everything else is all fairy tale magic and dragons.
@@Cody-qh3os Kcd, Bannerlord, bg3 & dragons dogma 2 are all amazing games. I love Kcd for it's realism & combat, I love bg3 for it's complex choice system & I love Bannerlord for it's total war but in your face aspects and if a game every puts all these systems together I'll be one happy gamer
@@kalelson8861 KCD definitely has room for some Sims-like play akin to Medieval Dynasty. That's already in there with the "From the Ashes" DLC, ableit not as thorough as a full fledged Sims type game.
For Bannerlord to be even in the same realm as KCD, it would need writers to invest in plot and quests, and characters and communities etc. far more than currently exists in that overwhelmingly generic game. The potential is there. They "kinda" did it in Warband with the Viking Conquest DLC.
Nothing could interest me less than playing another dragons and magic RPG. More power to whoever may enjoy those games, but the minute any of that enters into a game, I immediately lose interest. KCD already scratches at that with the potions, but it's not so distracting as to mess up the game. Plague Tale seemed like it might be good, but it gets all goofy magical, too. Lost interest as soon as it started bringing that stuff into the game. RPG game devs just absolutely cannot resist sprinkling in some magical mumbo jumbo most of the time. I'm glad KCD exists as the one RPG where they really don't for the most part.
@@Cody-qh3os I understand where you're coming from to an extent. The original game "thief" had me hooked til everything went sideways on the 3rd or 4th mission. Bannerlord does have a long way to go before it becomes an actual rpg as well. Only thing I find weird is that basic alchemy is science and not what I consider to be in the fantasy realm whatsoever. It's the root form of chemistry and without it we wouldn't have science as we know it today right?
More! We want more!
top 3 games of all time for me. soon to be top 5 when the second one comes out and replaces its place.. genuinely the most passionate Dev's
Who else wants a playthrough of KCD from jayvee??
I kinda hope to see more, then again I need to go back to this game before the sequel and finish it
omg you beat Hans. I always get my @$$ wooped.
Played KCD before RDR2 and I expected something similar in terms of gameplay and immersion, but nothing has the very specific balance found in KCD.
Learn master strikes from Bernard, it will help when Henry's out numberd
KCD is one of the few immersive rpg's that I've managed to get into.
One thing that I rarely experienced in the game was going hungry. I found it more difficult to eat all the food before it went bad. You have to look at the nutrition value of each food item. An apple gives only 2 points, whilst bread gives 17 points. Meat goes off fastest until you get the perks that prolong their freshness. Meats can also be doubly preserved. If you have raw meat in your inventory, you can add preserver potion to raise it 50 points of freshness. Once it is at 100 again, you can cook the meat, and it will be possible to use the preserver potion on it again once it goes down to 50%. One of the advantages of having Mutt, is that he'll eat meat cooked or raw, and even if it's gone slightly rotten, he'll eat it with no bad consequences.
To keep things realistic, I never allow Henry to carry food (or anything else that a real person would be unable to functionally carry), and I still never have any issues with food. Just have him stop off at inns, grocers, etc. During Awakening is really the only time you might have some issue if you didn't get the groschen from Lady Stephanie for bribes. You can find food at the back of Miller Peshek's house, though, and also in the barn near his house. It's more than enough to hold you over until you start the main quest or side quests.
Oh please continue this as a series!
Need a whole series
God. This game really is good. I love coming back to it every once in a while. Im just so bad at it 😅😅 mainly the combat. I just cant get a full grip on it.
just block before they strike
Master Strikes are pretty much mandatory for KCD 1. Devs said it's not going to be as OP in KCD 2, but in KCD 1, your enemies use it, so you have to use it in order to win, as well. If you don't have that feature yet, you need to go back to Bernard and finish training. Not sure why it isn't included in the initial training you get from him.
Playing this game as intended, saving only with potions and sleep, I once again felt that immersion that had been lost in more "streamlined" games. This immersion manifests as a real sense of fear about losing an upcoming encounter or a situation that has gone out of control. Hadn't felt that way since Morrowind... It also manifests as a real excitement for what you stand to gain with every risk you take, and a real sense of accomplishment when you come out on top.
10/10 - do not mod.
please upload more of this! I love kingdom come so much!
Vavra said that the game is inspired by Oblivion in some ways, as he is a fan. If you listen closely, you may notice some iconic Oblivion NPC speech.
One if the top 5 RPGs of all time
i could watch a whole series of this :D
I love it when you play this game. I'm so glad you enjoy it and although you never say it out loud, I feel like you have a good idea of what makes it so special.
sometimes it is nice to not work on a mission and just go for a ride and pick off wayward foes and just enjoy the countryside.
@11:08 LMAO Yes she will totally be back tomorrow. That made me laugh.
Haha I love how you actually killed that guy, I got caught and ran like a coward to lead him to the guards 😂
I LOVE this game., I am going to replay too. One of my favs. I can not wait for 2.
Id love to see more of this game
If you buy a horse yourself before the hunting mission with Hans not only does the dialogue change, but the entire section where he gets captured is different
I need to give this game another try
Watching you play this is making me want to return to the game. I stopped playing after I got myself stuck on the woman's lot dlc 😅
One of the best games I put down and glad I picked it back up
I didn’t get this game when it was free on PS Plus. Then I saw a vid on RUclips while this game was on sale for $4 this month. It was the best God dang $4 I’d ever spent on anything. I LOVE this game, really enjoying it! I can’t wait for the sequel!
Might be, but still good!
I adore this game. It is more than that. It is a playable medieval LARP piece. :)
I want to like this comment, as I agree that this game is a cut above all the others out there, but LARP is so cringe.
The way you learn skills in this game is like how Ultima Online worked in 1997. I like that aspect.
KCD does have a feel of oldschooly rpg translated into modern game
I have the game but I never played this game, seems like I should play it
Yes give it a change. Its really good. And if you get stuck because it combat. train with that guy. Once your skills and you get better its really enjoyable.
This game was crazy 😂
THE NEXT GAME HAS BEEN ANOUNCED? very noice, I didn’t know that
Every one should play this game
more please this was amazing
I need to give this game a fair shot. Recently bought it with all dlc for like 15 bucks.
Im dying to ask, ia this falcon?
So glad you played this game
my guy what is that contrast is it the game or you turned up the contrast you have some super eyes
Lol
just wait for kcd2 ...
This game is so good, especially if you’re a massive medieval nerd like I am
Damn I'm gonna go play this or ghost haha completely forgot how to play though I know I have about 200 saviour schnapps and 2000 grochen from poaching though ha I maxed leg day by picking herbs
The ONLY thing I fear for the second game is that it’ll lose that small studio feel this game has. I think the menu has to do with it looking like oblivion but the feel of the the exploration, some of the interactions, and the very slight bugginess gives it that feel as well.
Only thing I didn’t like is that instant death cut scene when you infiltrate a certain Bandit camp and you get recognized in the cut scene and are killed
Nice, i love this game
Yeah the game is talking into politics, it's very historically accurate, it's the Czech history that we are tought many times at school.
As far as I’m concerned, this is one of the best games ever made
This is my favorite game of all time!
SO SKIBIDI W RIZZ SIGMA😂
This is a near perfect game for me personally.
near perfect story. Near perfect game? No
I guess they really fixed Archery, it was a nightmare at release.
damn, i’m usually never this early, hey y’all lol, and hey jayvee, great stuff as usual!
I’ve the same problem with the heavy hand. It prevents me doing all sorts of hand related tasks well
I want them to make this game but you're the Knights Templar during the Crusades. One thing I hated about Ass Creed is how you're the bad guys.... No I want to fight for the Templar!
nah it's perfect (not really, but just amazing still)
ahhhh training with bernard......repeat till you can get combat nailed....alot of ppl..lol me included just ran off doing quests...and killed by bandits...but bernard afew time gets you in the swing of the combat..and will keep you alive.....bow too......eye hits can 1 shot...and even leg hits....they can bleed out...had aknght collapse crossing astream and me falling back....but dead with arrow in leg and he bleed out....great game
yes.
you need to learn master strikes and counter attack from bernard to be able to fight effectively.
thing is that learning those things is entirely optional.
true, lots of people, me included just continued doing quests without realizing that you should've continued training
Ya. Going back to Bernard after speaking to the Bailiff is basically mandatory. No idea why they didn't include combos and master strikes as part of your initial training with him.
Anyone planning on getting the game, start picking herbs and making potions if you want to get rich quick. However once you have tons of grochen, game will definitely be less rewarding.
Powergaming ruins everything enjoyable about this game. It's far more enjoyable to play it with the same commitment to realism that the developers stuck to when designing it.
Hell no, one of the best games ever lol
Who else originally thought KCD is skyrim but replace magic with realistic combat?
Made me think more of Oblivion
Give is more Morrowind!
If the next elder scrolls was like this, that would be insane. The game is really too immersive, your kingdom is getting burnt down and in the blink of an eye you’re in full knights armor fending off an ambush of 3 other knights
(Edit: Blink of an eye as in time is flying because you’re having fun)
You definitely don't become a knight in the blink of an eye in KCD, particularly in Hardcore Mode. Takes a long time to even reach the level of a middling swordsman.
@@Cody-qh3os blink of an eye as in you’re immersed and time flies.
I honestly can’t stand the game. What breaks immersion for me is when you break into homes and steal things or if you commit any crimes where you were never caught, the game’s AI guards somehow knows and proceeds to either stick you in jail or just outright attacks you. And if you’re not a high enough level to defend yourself you instantly just die or have to run away. Either way I got sick of that stupid mechanic and haven’t played since. I feel like the only way to play that game is to be completely honest and good at all times so that you aren’t randomly being accused and punished of crimes as you’re walking through town. And it does happen randomly, I cannot stand it. It instantly makes me hate that game. I won’t ever finish just because of how insanely angry I get when it happens. I won’t even touch KCD. Too many other bullshit mechanics that also bother the hell out of me, but that’s the biggest one.
There are small villages where people know each other. Suddenly there is a newcomer and things start disappearing. Of course they will suspect the newcomer. You can avoid this by being smart and selling stolen stuff in other villages/miller
I love watching the game but it’s honestly too immersive for me. Too much micromanaging for my taste.
Love the game
He cant read. We'll keep it that way.
wof! wof! wof!
This game is conceptually cool, and now I think it runs fine, but this game was THE single most broken game on launch I've ever played.
Jesus christ be praised!
Early here!
Its not too immersive.
