well, these kids have been through so much hell at this point, that charging, guns and turrets ablaze (literally) is a 2nd nature to them. They were heroes before, and they'll be heroes again.
Actually, it was only threatened twice (or thrice if you count Bellenos and Vanargand's second awakening) in Fuga. Then, nothing happened from what I know. (at least until Solatorobo and the novels after it)

I wouldn't call six time in a thousand years (Vanargand, Belenos/Vanargand/Taranis, Lares, Tartaros and TC's thing (and the thing in the light novel) a lot, at least in a world where it exists. The thing is that us, the player is only shown moments where ancient weapons threaten it
