3:06 the guy on the left getting out immediately and checking on the flipped driver made me tear up ngl
Zhou: *Sliding upside down in the background*
Crofty: THAT'S GEORGE RUSSELL OUT OF THIS RACE
Also Crofty: Roll hoop doing its job
Roll hoop: *Has quite literally failed*
well if it hadn't then zhou's head wd have been shaved, not the roll hoop.
@@ryugatsuchiya9018 the roll hoop had failed on the first impact. While Zhou is sliding theres no more roll hoop, only the halo and engine cover are protecting him. There's several videos and even an investigation from the FIA as to why this has happened.
Least biased British commentary
@@philipjkb15 after that crash they pretty much banned the blade style roll hoops for next season
@@lol__VEVOAlso Croft needs to give us the George Russel stat, very cool
I forget how fast they actually go until I see them start flying when they crash
That Zhou crash was a near miss. Terrifying to think what may have happened there was a fire
Also no Halo
fire wouldn't have changed much
@@polar2741 he's in a horrible position if a fire starts, even with fireproof clothing you're still stuck in a fence
from his interview he said he switched the engine off when the car started sliding, that was some quick reaction
It could be similar to this one: ruclips.net/video/mN_7jkgaEEQ/видео.html
8:20 "the roll hoop very much doing it's job"
The roll hoop: completely crushed, not doing it's job in the slightest
It's Crofty, even Legard was better lol
I mean, surely it obvious he meant to say halo and just got caught up in the moment of the crash as it was right at the start, hence why the other commentator corrected him quite quickly.
the synced up "ooo"s at 7:24 really got me
Stereooo.
The craziest part of this video was the usf juniors at COTA, I knew Alessandro. I raced against him here in homestead it’s crazy how much time flies. But also I’ve never seen him in a crash like that.
WOW thats cool, you actually knew Alessandro?
Too bad he had someone divebomb him after coming from the outside of the track
1:38 dude used Sandevistan to check on his buddy
1:25 cameraman's finger lmao
I know it’s been great protection, and i would even say the halo looks fine on f1-2-3 cars
But god it looks hilarious on the formula metropolitana
I was at Indianapolis this year and was in turn 1 when Colton flipped. Idk I’ve ever screamed louder😭😭
Honestly it's cool to see how many halos are mandated now and you can see them in action for a lot of these crashes. It's even made an impact on the smaller know open-wheel races.
6:37 very poor choice of words
"NO Fatal Crashes Were Included"
Respect 🙏👍🙌👏🏁
20/12/2022 23:14.
Also it’s that youtube would put this video to behind last thing to suggest in the alghorytm
@@Denes2005 Yes.
Lmao there were no fatal open wheel accidents since Hubert let alone fatal flips in 2022. No respect needed
oh omg.
Nice video as always, MSVD, you're my favorite motorsport channel
In the world of Halo and Aeroscreen, there are many small categories of open wheel racing that they did not use any of those systems... Unbelievable...
I suppose the sort of debris the halo and aeroscreen are designed to deflect are less dangerous in slower cars. And many cars in use at the moment simply weren't designed for those sorts of devices to be retrofitted onto them.
The roll cages in sprint cars are extensively tested and proven to be effective.
Everytime I watch a MSVD vid I get half way through and think how the hell does this guy find the time to watch all this motorsport. I barley manage an Adac race and F1 every weekend.
it's called 'having no life'
nice to see how many drivers rush over to see if another driver is okay
The formula Ford at brands hatch my grandad used to own such a shame to see it demolished like that
It is actually so great to see people ruin their race just to help people. It shows true character
The first clip shows how aerodynamic they are because it got caught in the wind
Thx for the beginning notice
I saw the freca flip from the tarzanbocht, super scary
Zandvoort, my beloved.
6:20, I remember pre-rework that man would stand on the pit-building, then watch the start, then run to the other side to see any potential carnage in Gerlach-Hugenholtz!
Seeing the mass of people run to see some cars go vroom is cool.
6:20 i was at this race and saw it happen live. It was the first big race I've been to.
eu amo seus vídeos☺❤
There was fatal flip crash in 2022?
just in case, and some crashes in this video looked ugly too
haha i got scared for a moment
I dont think there was a fatal crash (or.serious injury) in any major or minor open wheel series in the world, and I think that this may be a record.
RUclips be RUclips. It's to prevent the video being takendown or age-restricted (which impacts ability to monetize)
@@miguelelgueta5830 Mick Schumacher in Saudi Arabia qualy is the closest to that
Was at carb day in the upper level at turn 1, no one saw the crash coming, herta looked fine, but that small wiggle on the replay shows even the smallest mistakes on ovals is paid back in a disaster. Shame it ruined his race that sunday too
5:05 another halo save
"ohhhh dearie me!" Still makes me laugh for some reason!"
hola el video está Genial muy bueno 🤜🤛👍
3:20 he only went on his side he didnt flip over
Impressive how HALO and aeroscreen do excellent job to save driver lives
Formula Metropolitana 🤝 Flipping
Every open wheel racing should have mandatory halo safety.
Was there any fatal Motorsport crashes this year ?
🔥
Zhou:‘cough’s’
The voice crack at 3:30 sent me
1:42 the steering wheel has flew out of the car
Were there any fatal wrecks this year?
I think 3:20 doesn't really count as a flip
2:18 your playing iracing with rtx on
Oh no.
This is not biggest crashes, this is ALL flips in 2022 open wheel
well, there are still Noah Stromsted's flip at Catalunya, Jing Zefeng's flip at Pingtan and more
7:02 never race at a track that doesn't have plenty of safety crews.
I was there for Colton's crash.
1:59 still struggling to understand how that car flipped
The gravel trap turned the car over
The collision lifted the left side of the car off the ground a few feet so the gravel trap only slowed the right side, left side kept going causing the flip
Everyone how See my commune i wish you merry cristmas
most of those cars dont have fins that stop them from going airborne
Those really wouldn't work well on open wheel cars. They don't make lift in reverse quite like stock cars do
some of these cars doesn't seem to be that safe
Hello to Boos
Nice video, but where is Mick Schumacher ? for example Monaco
that's not a flip
With the first crash that was just a dumb cut away keep the Camara on the track and not on pit road where there is nothing going on
*QUE PIÑA*
ARGENTINA CARAJOOOO
Houve um acidente fatal com o carro capotando nesse ano? Tomara que não
remarkably no single seater driver deaths this year at all (according to motorsportmemorial, which is a really really big database)
My name is Colton
🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
no sprint car? kinda sad because its better racing than all of this
Why wouldn't you include fatal crashes, that's idiotic. Bring glory to their death instead of letting their memory fade so you can virtue signal.
