    More Catch-as-Catch-Can tutorials! This was really good and clear, I need to try this at next roll. Also I dig that you shoe how his going to try to defend and what to do then. Too many tutorials are just showing some move as if no-one ever tries to resist it.

    • @EnglishMartialArts
      @EnglishMartialArts  Год назад +3

      There'll definitely be more, but they don't get much in the way of views so don't help the channel much. But I agree 100% about showing some resistance. The internet is full of crappy "instructionals" that clearly wouldn't work against resistance.

    • @moz5831
      @moz5831 Год назад

      Well, maybe not straight away, since it’s unlikely that people in thousands search for the sme technique as soon as you telease it, but if the content helps people, eventually people will find it, right?
      I wish there were more Catch-style content on youtube, since although it does the many same techniques as BJJ, I somehow like the Catch straight-forward approach. If you had Danaher to make an instrunctional on how to sit on a chair, it’d be series of 10 of 3.5h videos, whereas wrestling-style approach is ”just do this”.

    First of all its not a double wrist lock, its a kimora ;) (I knew you would like that)
    Second the reason why some BJJ guys call that a cross face is because if done correctly the shoulder and bicep is across the face creating a lot of pressure. The elbow pressure is a nice little addition to bend the arm. As is the downward pressure to break the grip.

    • @Kwisatz-Chaderach

    Double wrist lock, got to love it and all its various forms. The Only submission my wrestling coach said we ever need to learn to win a submission grappling match if we ever got in one. I wouldn’t agree on that point per say. But it is unbelievably effective if you can do it well.

    Try this:
    When you have their hand pinned to the ground and your other hand under their arm-pit, slide the pinning hand from the wrist to the meat of the hand pinky side, and bend their wrist toward their body as you bring that hand up toward their arm-pit. Firmly bring their hand up to your other hand (under arm-pit) and switch to firmly holding the hand with the wrist bend with that hand.
    If you don't get a tap by then, continue to bring the hand closer to their shoulder.
    You're welcome.

    If my opponent pulls his hand in or joins his hands to fight the lock, I like to put the point of my elbow in the shoulder joint and press down until they let go. On an especially big or strong guy, I step all the way around the head after I fold both my arms around his. After I've stepped around, I kick my near leg out, sit down, and crank.
