- In my crochet tutorial today I'll be showing you how to make this child teddy bear crochet applique. This is part of a teddy bears picnic series that I'm doing.

For this pattern you will need 3 or 4 colors of cotton or wool, I used 4 ply crochet cotton. Crochet hook, I used a 1.25mm hook. Scissors, thread to sew together, a sewing needle and a darning needle to weave in ends.
The finished size will be 14cm x 10cm (5.5” x 4”) for the larger teddy bear, using 8 ply wool. The small teddy bear will be 9.5cm x 7cm (3.75” x 2.75”) when using 4 ply crochet cotton.

The hook is too small for me.
For appliqués it is best to use a slightly smaller hook than you would usually use for the yarn but use what you are comfortable with.
