- Well, there goes my couch... Mr Hedgie is destroying it, look at his sharp teeth! But he's so cute, I can't stop him. What happens at the end with the foam in its mouth is called "self-anointing", a mysterious behaviour that is linked with new smells. It's cute and weird, totally normal for this little guy.

That’s my my hedgehogs name :( mr hedgie and he loved me so much we would nap with me on my nap during the days. And play everynight before I went to bed. His face use to always melt my heart I miss him so much :(
I am so sorry for your loss. My hedgehog passed away a few days ago, and i understand that it must have been painful to let him go. ❤

How long do hedgehogs 🦔 live for?
3-5 years only. And they are nocturnal but hedgehog 🦔 owners are recommended to bring them out at least once or twice a day for bonding/ snack and play time. you only bathe them once a month as well there are videos are how to do it and you can only use certain baby shampoo non scented, tear free and a tooth brush and cup ❤ you once use a little shampoo too because to much can irritate the hedgehogs clean as they are VERY sensitive and get dry flakey skin as well. But once awhile they just float on their backs in the water and soak it up so it’s cute after getting the hang of it. And they also highly recommended LIVE mealworms but you can also use dead once’s as well . And you can feed them a lil fruit and some scrambled eggs made with water and not butter or oil. when it comes to their kennels you can dump the kennel out and rearrange it. That can stress them out. You have to spot clean 👌 my hedgehog couldn’t be around bunnies or anything as both were territorial. but he liked my female bunny she was lazy. and when you FIRST get once. You can have leave it alone in his kennel for 2 weeks so he can adjust to his new environment, the new smell, sounds. And once time you can go to it is when you fell the food and water. Also learning to pick them up and carry them bare hand is also HIGHLY recommended because of your scent and don’t force the relationship on it. Just put your hand out it front of it and he will come out of his ball stage and come to your fingers and smell them. Try not to scare them when they accidentally nip you in the process they won’t know any better and soon it will just walk right into your hand. Singing to them, talking to them, laying with them on the bed ,bathing them, and feeding them is all bonding process. The first month or two you will be discouraged like your hedgie isn’t bonding with you but trust me it is and 6 months down the line you’ll realize how you were just overreacting because having a hedgehog is a new experience for you and the hedgehog^.^ I loved my man so much his name was also MrHedgie haha and he was also an albino.
