Hello friends! First off, I truly appreciate your active engagement with this video. It’s great to see that most of you have understood my perspective and why I reacted the way I did. However, after reading through the comments, I realized that a few of you may have misunderstood my intentions. I want to clarify that I am not against any language a person chooses to communicate in, nor do I believe that any language is superior to another. The issue only arises when speaking Hindi becomes a requirement to be identified as an indian. It’s as simple as that. I’m simply not very fluent in Hindi because I’m not as familiar with it. That doesn’t mean, as an Indian, that I don’t understand or speak Hindi at all, even though it’s widely spoken. When I’m in a place where people primarily speak Hindi, I do my best to communicate in it. However, forming complex sentences can be challenging for me. That’s exactly why you see me speaking in English here. I can understand the Hindi he speaks back to me-this is usually how it works in conversations. Over the years, I have had the oppourtunity to travel to almost all the states in India. I did not speak the language of the people there, nor did they speak any language I understood. Yet, most often than not, by mutual cooperation we have managed to communicate. That is the beauty I wish to see more of. Thank you!
Look, don't get this wrong, but a lot of South Indian especially Tamils have a notion of not speaking Hindi or accepting it. You will happily accept English which is a foreign language but not Hindi, agreed that hindi isn't the national language but still most of the people in north east and west India understand and speak Hindi not because they hate their native language but because of Hindi's acceptance as a language of communication for majority of less literate Indians who can't speak fluent English like I or you do. Hindi connects them, the civic volunteer that you encountered was one of them, he didn't expect you to speak Bengali as it isn't native to you but hindi, but you were shoving English on him, he didn't get what you were saying and also why did you expect him to know English??? And when you go to a remote place atleast learn some local words which might come in handy. People generally in remote areas don't speak or understand English but can understand or speak Hindi, so Hindi comes in handy while communicating in north east and west India. And even some parts of south India. For example I lived in mangalore, and villagers in the vicinity didn't understand English but a lot of them understood Hindi, which came in handy at that time, and agreed not all states are literate like Kerala, so you have to understand their sensitivities as well, you can't just shove English on them. I am sorry, if my words hurt but this was a defence of illiterate India. Thank you!!
@ First of all, knowing English doesn’t define literacy; it’s simply another language. When I go to remote places, do you think I communicate in English or Malayalam? Clearly, you haven’t watched my other videos. I always make an effort to connect with the local people, speaking their language to the best of my ability. Let me clarify the main issue here. This isn’t about him speaking Hindi or me speaking English. I was speaking English because I was frustrated, and expressing that frustration in Hindi isn’t easy for me. He clearly understood what I was saying, but then he asked me if I was Indian. When I said yes, he replied, “If you’re Indian, you should speak in Hindi!” This is the point I highlighted in my comment above, and there’s no offense taken here. I’m glad that most people in the comment section understood this.
@@astronautonroad1 you haven't seen real India then, in India english is all about literacy atleast here in North and east India because people learn English as a subject not as a language in villages. And you were right on point making the claim that hindi ain't the national language but you missed the point that, the poor fella may or may not know English, and I do agree that he was too aggressive with his body language and the way he was speaking to you, he shouldn't have done what he did especially to someone coming from a different part of India on a bike. As a Bengali, I'm ashamed of these people for whom you had to face the issue. Hindi is accepted, that is okay, but we need to respect every language, either that be Malayalam, Tamil, Odia or anything. Those people in Blue Shirts are Civic Volunteers, who basically are uneducated Politically supported people. They are casual staffs who work under Bengal Police, and actually they have no authority to stop a bike or cross examine anything. They are just assistants of Bengal Police. I'm ashamed of these people who harassed you for no reason. It wasn't your fault, as in Bengal the barricades are actually too much irritating and have no visibility at all or warning lights! Don't let this incident affect you da. Hope you have a great journey ahead ❤

one tip bro , I agree with all your points that India is a diverse county, but in a new place don't argue with people too much about such things , you dont know how the other person will react, you are travelling solo, try to avoid such conflicts.

Well come to West Bengal! Hear no one know the rules hear so you can't expect them to follow the rules. And that blue shirt guys are called Civic volunteer Police.
First episode i see thanks to YT algoritms, waow its became more and more chaotic, i just bought my Hanle Black and waiting for the shop to diliver paper work and the bike here in Belgium, i love how this video was edited, will you do offroad to? i don't know alot about indian culture but that guy was just being stuborn i think. good luck on your journey, i will defenitly follow you :) Greetings from Belgium

I am sad you had a bad experience but I believe it is a general attitude I have noticed with public. If they see someone in riding gear, they think the guy is a "Racer" and in the wrong . There is a high chance police will stop you and scrutinize you more. They never question the splendor guy who is riding without helmet, rear view mirrors and is cutting across lanes of a major highway without looking.
loving the ride. How is the google + MX helmet working out? Is it more of a hassle? I was looking to upgrade my Helmet. I was considering a google and motocross helmet setup. What are advantages according to you? Is transparent lid just better?
I could see that slight shift in your calm demeanor when you had to check if he could speak Malayalam 😀 People are quick to read into things when they see someone fully geared up, and while it’s usually positive, occasionally you get the other side. Either way, you handled it smoothly. Enjoyed the video. Looking forward to the next one. Ride safe buddy 🙌😊
One thing ive learnt when j travel across borders in hour country is learning to say, i dont know rhe language but im actively learning. It may come out as absolute gibberish, but the the locals of that state immediately turn soft to appreciate us attempting to soeak their tongue. Its unfortunately one of the only ways to defuse the situation most of the time. Speaking in English kind of pisses them off as rhey mostly dont knwo it or pretend to not know it.
@astronautonroad1 it's ok...l Love your journey and how you capture the thrill of the ride! Your videos are inspiring and full of adventure. And welcome to kolkata
Why these guys always gets triggered when someone doesn't speak their language!!? You handled the situation very well brother...Ride safe...Keep producing quality contents...
That guy was rude but bro just a tip learn a few sentences so that you could express yourself it helps in such situations and do try to avoid them completely. Before I went to Maharashtra for the I learnt a bit of Marathi so that I could atleast say and understand a basic few lines. Cause I can't expect the locals to understand English( it's a foreign language afterall ).
Be it Kolkata(West Bengal, where the incident took place on the highway) or anywhere in India, speaking hindi or rather have to know hindi isn't necessary. The world doesn't revolve around hindi. First of all, hindi is the official language of India and not the national language. I know for a fact that your intentions were true and the blue shirt civil whatever guy just wanted to bully you. Trust me, you tackled it very well. Keep going brother. Wishing you the best. Ride safe!
There will be idiots on roads who keeps on crossing without even caring about the oncoming traffic. Because of them we’ll fall in trouble and when that happens there are always some random people who try to support their villagers. They don’t even care who is at fault.
Bro recently I travelled to Sikkim from Shillong with my family, a similar incident happened to me in west bengal when a lorry is in front of me and the guy in blue uniform accused me of crossing the red light and took a picture of our vehicle. It's now understood that these guys in blue uniform a manipulative. Yes India is a diverse country Hindi is not a national language
Superb Goutham I loved the way you gave him back by asking whether you know Malayalam,it's such a foolish thing to keep baracades on the fast highway with no proper lighting, with stupid people crossing the road, take care Goutham.
Good picture quality. Stay calm brother, don't get into arguments when you are alone. People in these parts are unaware of a motorcycle riders in full protective gears, they are used to see riders without helmet, without footwear, without any regards and care for traffic rules. Roads in our country are full of idiots coming from anywhere and from everywhere. Be careful drive carefully and within speed limits. And no harm in speaking a few words in hindi, like dhanyawad, namaste etc, even foreign riders use the same while travelling in India. Best Wishes Happy Diwali Have a nice ride 🎉 Thank You Gautam നന്ദി ഗൗതം 🎉
Bengaluru people needs to understand that not everyone residing there due to occupation or studies are not bound to learn their language. Embrace differences.
They are some fucking civic volunteers.. most irritating part of the traffic system in India.. specially in West Bengal. Stay safe brother.. ❤ Ride Hard 💯🔥 and Happy Diwali 🎇 I am from West Bengal.. welcome to my city Kolkata ♥️
This is absolute bullshit. There is no such mandate in India that one should know hindi. Not necessarily. Respect should be equal for all languages. I am really ashamed because of these people even being a bengali. I also ride to different states and never ever faced this kind of words from people of other states.
Bro i want to know, why are you getting triggered at the first place?? The police didn't disrespect his language, he just asked him to speak hindi when he is travelling in the north that's it. The problem with this guy is why can't u speak Malayalam, instead police would have also asked him, why can't u speak bengali when u r in bengal?? The problem here is ego which is same in that rider and u who prefers to speak english, a foreign language but not speak a common Indian language....he is not imposing Hindi on u, it's just that in India "most" of the people understand Hindi well and it's for his own good if he get stuck one day in a remote village. So stop blabbering like if someone disrespected someone's language which is not. Education is necessary to understand things at this level.
Bro they didnt disrespected the Malayalam for say any other language, he was simply asking you can to speak in Hindi there is nothing wrong in that and u expecting them to talk in english us wrong
@astronautonroad1, being a Bengali i am ashamed. Those Blue Shirt guy or in-fact anyone on the earth should not mandate to speak Hindi. It's just the medium to express your self. Those Blue shirt are civic volunteers and holds no authority. Since he noticed you are not Bengali so he thought he might have upper hand. Good response from you and you kept your nerves calm in that tensed situation. All the best for your north-east ride.
That’s ridiculous behaviour by him what does that mean if you did hit then what could have done? Why did he asking you to talk in Hindi if you don’t know. Safe Journey brother your videos are tremendous 🥳
These blue dressed 'official' people are all over Bengal, their designation is 'Civic Volunteer', but they get 'paid'. Most of their work is to cause nuisance. We the people of Bengal don't know how they get hired, based on what qualifications. All we know is they think of themselves as IPS officers. They also love to collect fines....ahem ahem.. Also a tip, never show them your physical documents.
When a South Indian goes to North India he is expected to speak in Hindi. When a North Indian goes to South India he expects the South Indians to speak in Hindi. That’s the fundamental problem. As per the constitution there are 22 scheduled languages in India. Hindi is just one of them. The Hindi speaking population is just around 40%, and the rest 60% speak their own lovely languages. Tamil is at least 5000 years old and the oldest language in the world. Hindi is less than 1000 years old.
Its not about how many years old your language is. I am an Odia and I vouch for Hindi because being the most spoken language and also the official language of India, knowing Hindi make it easier and more convenient to converse with ppl in most parts of our country.
@AbhishekPatel-bd8cu One person need not to know Hindi to prove that he's Indian or Not. Because you are from Odia you might be more familiar with that language. But not for everyone. Imposing one language that people are not familiar with is unacceptable. Everyone should be more empathetic and intolerable for others. Talking about the Official language, English is also an official language in which Gautam is conversing. Based on your logic English being the most spoken language globally, knowing English makes it easier and more convenient to Converse with people in most parts of the world. But the majority of Indians are not good at English.
@@aravindyogeeswar Bro I am saying that everyone must know Hindi. I was just stating the advantages since our bro is a tourer, it might help him. Also I am against any kind of imposition. That Bengali guy was very rude af. Thats not how one should behave. Believe me I know how it feels. Recently one kannadiga person made fun of me as I didn't know Kannada while I was returning from Mangalore ride.
@@AbhishekPatel-bd8cu He's traveling to Northeast there Hindi won't help much. Since Hindi is spoken by the majority we can't tell everyone to do the same. Many foreign travellers are visiting India without knowing even a single letter of Hindi. Language barriers will be there as long as the whole world don't speak a single language. That's part of the cultural diversity. We can't say that one MUST learn this or that language.
@@aravindyogeeswar Man don't learn if you don't wanna learn. All I said is knowing Hindi is really advantageous. If anybody asked me what to learn as a third language(first being the mother tongue and 2nd being English). I would confidently suggest Hindi in India. Now don't make unnecessary arguments as I didn't try to prove anybody wrong here.
Learn a little bit of Hindi bro....North Indian Speak Hindi don't teach north indians to speak english or Malayalam. We don't speak any other language.
Well the Police/Constable or who ever he was did not pursue the issue ... whatever the reason, but good for you, and yes we don't have to speak Hindi as a MUST, yes it is the most spoken language in most of India, but the moment you make it an Issue , you start a communal divide...... but if you are travelling to some place , it is better to communicate in some language that they can reply to, no matter how broken it may sound, sometimes it gets you out of some tricky situations..... Have a Fruitful journey...
its not necessary to speak hindi. its our choices which language we want to speak. Bing a bengali extremely sorry for inconvenience . its our government fault to not give you best service. again extremely sorry.
I am not against any language 8:53 You are telling that we celebrate our heritage and diversity and all, yet the irony is you are denying a Indian language and choosing to communicate in a foreign language. 🎉🎉🎉🎉 Being a Bengali that man couldn’t understand your mother tongue not you can understand his. But still you choose didn’t choose a native language but rather a foreign language. 😂
Brother. This is wrong. You planned to ride india and you thrashed your culture and your language insecurities to local people. Dude this is not south india or north india. Still that security guy told atleast speak in hindi, even their native language is something else. Just think about it. How this mentality ruins your respect around india. Shameful😢
Bro don't get so speculative, he is a civic volunteer, (in lower rank than police). I assume they don't know English like you. In this condition if he want to communicate with you it's natural he will speak Bengali as mother tongue, or Hindi as most speken language in India. That's why he told you to speak in Hindi to communicate. After realising you don't know Hindi he stopped himself. YOU YOURSELF MAKING THE ISSUE AS SOMETHING RELATED TO LANGUAGE OR REGIONALISM.
they are civic volunteer they didn't have any rights to fine you and you can complain about him he didn't know basic english and tried to force you to speek hindi which you can't speek they didn't have proper education how to talk to people and welcome to west bengal
you can learn bengali cuz its complsory when it comes to bengal as you south say you must speak maliyalam and kannada same way when other gives respect then you must be prepared to give back same respect to rest
Actually these are not police officers theyre civic police and they cannot speak english.....they only know bengali and hindi. Yes his tone wasn't right at all. But he should be nice to others thats all...and Yes HINDI isn't necessary for Bengal or anywhere in India...and in Bengal hindi isnt most spoken language its Bengali. He was trying to communicate in hindi because he doesn know English thats what I understood because these people are literally 8th standard pass or 10th maybe theyre employed by goverment to help the police officers.

Bro u not meet amit ( counting mailes)
Awesome reply bro "not necessary" 👍
Bro r u still in kolkata?
If you are then visit barasat for diwali pandel hopping
I could see that slight shift in your calm demeanor when you had to check if he could speak Malayalam 😀
People are quick to read into things when they see someone fully geared up, and while it’s usually positive, occasionally you get the other side.
That is not howrah bridge
I thought it was! My bad! Thanks for pointing out.
Thank you.
Kindly read the pinned comment my friend. Thank you.
Beautiful commentary ♥
Be it Kolkata(West Bengal, where the incident took place on the highway) or anywhere in India, speaking hindi or rather have to know hindi isn't necessary. The world doesn't revolve around hindi. First of all, hindi is the official language of India and not the national language. I know for a fact that your intentions were true and the blue shirt civil whatever guy just wanted to bully you. Trust me, you tackled it very well. Keep going brother. Wishing you the best. Ride safe!
Thank you for understanding Rohan!
Keep it up nice vlog from nagaland
Hello brother me hi himesh apse mila ta na bairakunda pe ❤🎉🎉🎉
7:51 cracked me up 😂😂
There will be idiots on roads who keeps on crossing without even caring about the oncoming traffic.
You are right my friend! Thank you for sharing your experience!
Superb Goutham I loved the way you gave him back by asking whether you know Malayalam,it's such a foolish thing to keep baracades on the fast highway with no proper lighting, with stupid people crossing the road, take care Goutham.
Can you give your luggage bags buying links
Lazy ass bikers
Good picture quality.
Stay calm brother, don't get into arguments when you are alone. People in these parts are unaware of a motorcycle riders in full protective gears, they are used to see riders without helmet, without footwear, without any regards and care for traffic rules.
Roads in our country are full of idiots coming from anywhere and from everywhere.
Be careful drive carefully and within speed limits.
And no harm in speaking a few words in hindi, like dhanyawad, namaste etc, even foreign riders use the same while travelling in India.
Best Wishes
Happy Diwali
Have a nice ride 🎉
Thank You Gautam
നന്ദി ഗൗതം 🎉
Average person who runs out of a valid argument in india. Take the INDIAN LINE.
Bengaluru people needs to understand that not everyone residing there due to occupation or studies are not bound to learn their language. Embrace differences.
They are some fucking civic volunteers.. most irritating part of the traffic system in India.. specially in West Bengal. Stay safe brother.. ❤ Ride Hard 💯🔥 and Happy Diwali 🎇 I am from West Bengal.. welcome to my city Kolkata ♥️
polichu muthe...achante mwoon thanne...😂
Please visit north east ♥️
Sorry from my side on behalf of West Bengal.
Never trust or encounter any police in west bengal can't tell what could happen 😅
Nope. Kindly read the pinned comment my friend. Thank you.
Thank you.
and the same people refuse to speak kannada in Bengaluru 🤣🤣
That’s ridiculous behaviour by him what does that mean if you did hit then what could have done? Why did he asking you to talk in Hindi if you don’t know. Safe Journey brother your videos are tremendous 🥳
Gauthama padalle padiyal.theernnu😅😅😂😂
These blue dressed 'official' people are all over Bengal, their designation is 'Civic Volunteer', but they get 'paid'. Most of their work is to cause nuisance. We the people of Bengal don't know how they get hired, based on what qualifications. All we know is they think of themselves as IPS officers. They also love to collect fines....ahem ahem..
Also a tip, never show them your physical documents.
Paisa agar app ne de dete,, civic police polite ho jaata😂
5:30 😊❤
He don't know English thay are volunteer police
You are right here,, but be it any rural area similar to this people including the police will not be knowing english tbh. (Just my opinion)
Yes! I agree. Kindly read the pinned comment my friend!
Learn a little bit of Hindi bro....North Indian Speak Hindi don't teach north indians to speak english or Malayalam. We don't speak any other language.
Kindly read the pinned comment my friend!
As I am from Kolkata , this cv is bogus...
its not necessary to speak hindi. its our choices which language we want to speak. Bing a bengali extremely sorry for inconvenience . its our government fault to not give you best service. again extremely sorry.
Speak whatever language at home.. yet need to be prepared for all sort of languages away from home.
expose this guy who is ranting rubbish . i speak Malayalam, hindi, english . no one has right to say, only speak hindi
I am not against any language 8:53
You are telling that we celebrate our heritage and diversity and all, yet the irony is you are denying a Indian language and choosing to communicate in a foreign language.
🎉🎉🎉🎉
Being a Bengali that man couldn’t understand your mother tongue not you can understand his.
Shameful😢
You planned to ride India?? He is from India!!!!! 😅
Kindly read the pinned comment my friend!
Worst kolkata I have experienced the same
I don't think it has anything to do with a particular place or people. People are everywhere and some of them think like that.
@astronautonroad1 yup 👍 understood
Kindly read the pinned comment my friend. Thank you.
I think so he is not educated properly
1st
they are civic volunteer
they didn't have any rights to fine you
and you can complain about him
he didn't know basic english and tried to force you to speek hindi which you can't speek
they didn't have proper education how to talk to people
and welcome to west bengal
you can learn bengali cuz its complsory when it comes to bengal as you south say you must speak maliyalam and kannada same way when other gives respect then you must be prepared to give back same respect to rest
bro no one will ask you to learn or speak malayalam when travelling to Kerala 👍🏽
Kindly read the pinned comment my friend!
Why are you talking in english? Why dont you speak in Bengali in West Bengal?????
Kindly read the pinned comment my friend! I hope it clears!
