I don't know if this post will ever be read by Ana or Cenk but I hope so.
Some European nations, Germany as an example, have had successful centre-left governments for years. Particularly using Germany as an example, their healthcare, social security, education, housing and transport models should have been followed by governments in your country of America and mine of Australia however our collective politicians are simply too stupid or corrupt to copy those German policies.
Only a Democratic Party like a Roosevelt one could emulate Germany and move away from the elitist, WOKE-style the Democrats are now. But that would require getting rid of what I call the Democrat Mafia which includes Pelosi, Clintons and Obamas.

I agree with the premise of paid leave. My state of Oregon passed it recently. My first hand experience is not great. Attendance has been terrible since it passed. This has lead to crazy under staffing and increased work load. 1-2 days a week now I'm doing my 8hr job plus 4hrs of my coworkers work but still in an 8hr work day. They need to include enough funding to fill the loss of labor. I work for a public entity that has a fixed budget, so they can't just hire extra people to sit around waiting for people to take leave. Other people's ability to take leave should not come out of my hide! Plan for the potential downsides and write and fund the bills adequately please!

When are the Democrats going to do something for working people: 1 Minimum wage of $22/hour, 2, National (free) health care, and elimination of Health insurance companies,3 Free University education, 4 Paid Maternity and Paternity leave (4 weeks), 5 Fix the broken electoral system, 6 Age limit (70 years) for person to be elected President, 7 Government Regulation of Mass Media including Internet companies, 8 Regulation of Banks, and limits (10%) on interest rates on credit cards.

The only reason someone should join the Democratic Party is to change it. We need to back progressive candidates who push populist economic policies, and don’t take PAC money. We need to vote for candidates who will Constitutionally abolish super PACs. We need grassroots campaigns funded by the working-class. Our policies are popular with right and left voters. We need to vote for progressives in primaries. We need to start with our local and state elections. We need to change the Democratic Party for the better, like Trump has changed the Republican Party for the worse.
I'm sorry, I don't believe any far left candidate would win an election, even if they were the nominee.
They would be branded socialist and liberal, 2 words Americans hate most. And the right with their gigantic multimedia ecosystem, would decimate any progressive candidate. It just can't be done in America.
The UK tried it in 2019 with Jeremy Corbyn and he got decimated. He received the worst loss of any labour leader in history. Boris Johnson of the Conservative Party won Labour heartlands, areas that had NEVER voted for conservatives before. Again the people actually liked Corbyn's policies, as they would like a Bernie Sanders, but FEAR politcs would win the day, as it aways does.
The Republican platform was based on pure lies to their audience, and the lies which were never fact-checked became their truth. That's very tough to beat, because even if you do fact-check and debunk the lies, it has sown so deep, they would say the truth is fake and part of the deep state.
There's too many uneducated people in America to discern fact from disinformation.
