There is a corner you turn in any renovation where you stop tearing out and repairing substrate and you begin to build anew in earnest. You all have definitely turned that corner full force. I'm in awe of all the hard work and seeing your vision come to fruition. Bravo.

I also think you have struck gold with your building team, such trojon workers. Again a great weeks work. Laurel is a prolific grower and will help with a wind break. This has to be the best channel on RUclips by far.
What a wonderful video guys, you Astonish us wish every video you post, with the unbelievable progress you make every week without fail on the stone cottage, you have been relentless since the very beginning, working in all weathers, and now seeing the roof take shape has blown my mind to be honest.
I so can't wait to finally see the slate go on the roof of this 200 year old cottage is just so exciting!❤
Watching you try to get Toby and Tilly interested in the squeaky chicken was funny, but they may show some interest in it later when they have got used to the noise it makes 🤷🏻‍♀️

You have become one of the best self build videos on the net, purely because of your simplistic can-do attitude. It’s not a million dollar mansion conversion, they are a dime a dozen, you guys are an upbeat family with a can do attitude and I, with a lot of others, respect that. Good morning Sam, Bec’s, and Family. A tip of me old hat and a top of the morning to Dessie, Francis and DL ( Dessie’s Lad). Seriously guys… I’m almost lost for words at what you’ve achieved in this video. I’ve watched it twice already…replaying it and making sure I take in every skilled action of you guys. This is sheer bloody hard graft at its best. Once again you guys were on a mission and it was very apparent that nothing was going to stop you from achieving your goals. I’m sat here in front of me stoked up log burner … half yelling…Go on my boys… you’re doing a brilliant job….keep going….Another amazing couple of days work. As always…. My sincere respects to you all…. Dave..

Thanks Dave. Glad you enjoyed it. I was very concerned it was boring as Sam was too busy to film in normal speed this week. Sticking it on timelapse was the easiest option but left me little to work with editing wise. It's a relief to hear it was still enjoyable.

@@theirishhomestead Not be too hard on yourself Becs. I suspect most who follow your channel will find it all pretty interesting given the variety of content. From construction, to horticulture, to dogs and donkeys, what’s not to love ? Take care you all…. Dave

Hi Sam and Bec, you deserve some family time over the weekend, gosh, what a week and what a difference. The derelict 'possibility' is now rapidly showing that it will become a cosy, inviting home. Hard to believe the rapid progress of the past few weeks. Well done, all :)

I'm watching the build and I'm thinking, "Big wooden barrels filled with red geraniums at each corner of the house, or maybe red and white. Pretty painted pots of lavender on the stoop of each door. No hanging pots, the wind is too strong, but graduated size pots with herbs that won't attract the cats."
I'll bet the dog would like the squeeky chicken. Our dogs love squeeky toys, but two of them eat the squeeker!
Our clocks change on November 2nd. Bummer! I prefer longer evenings than mornings, but that's just me. I've never understood the point of getting up with the sun. It shows up whether I'm awake or not. The weather service is talking frost warnings for next week. I guess winter is arriving.😝😝😝
Enjoy your weekend Sam. You've earned some fish and chips, a couple of pots of tea, and putting your feet up!

Yes lots of planting ideas. It's odd as now I have to think about various animals eating/pooping on what I plant. Adds a whole new dimension to gardening I've never experienced before!
Hoping the roof is slated by the end of next week. Just hope the weather holds that bit longer.
