Finger rolling gives me the best results when I first apply a curl cream than roll and than apply the gel and scrunch. When I put the gel on before rolling it has the same „artificial“ effect you got. Hope this helps 😊

Do you finger roll your entire head of hair then scrunch with gel after or scrunch with gel after each section?
I scrunched right after rolling and it helped. I would give it a shot again😊 Maybe try harder hold products too.

I believe youre supposed to roll it all the way up and then twirl it with your finger down.
Yes would love to see finger coiling. Roll up is kind of difficult for wavy hair. I have the same texture as yours. Overall it looks nice.👍❤️

Maybe try bigger sections and alternating direction next time for a more natural look and root clip for volume! 😃

Finger rolling was really hard for me when I tried it. I have the same hair you do though mine is more fine.I feel like I get pretty much the same results when I twist it.
You did a great job, wow. I know it’s not your fave look but it was good experiment. Gently scrunching and maybe even diffusing would give your locks more bounce if you try this again, and I think those results would be bomb. Thanks for the vid! 💞💞

I do finger rolling and it goes so much better! and maybe yes, you should scrunch after, to encourage the roots and have more volume. also I've seen that people do finger rolling and stay there for a while, it holds better the curl pattern but I don't know haha maybe I should try it too

When I use my denman brush to create spirals, it looks a lot like this. I’m always torn between thinking it looks weird and great. Spirals are so satisfying. My top layers look awkward with it though…they don’t know how to lie.
Curling in a diagonal direction plus scrunched might produce different effects.
It looks super cute, almost like you did it with a curling rod

Yeah it looks like it stretched out your waves. All coiling techniques work weirdly on my hair but I might give it a try too. Just worried that because I will roll it for such a long time the bottom section will stretch out just of the weight of the water because that happens to me quite often. Let's see!

your hair looks good, i finger roll every wash day and for me it works styling my hair by scrunching right after i get out of the shower, and then the parts that don't really get defined i apply more water, styling cream and gel on the section that i'm trying to define and just finger roll on the specific section, because again, finger rolling your entire head takes a lot of time. I would recommend you to give it another shot.

I have the same hair texture to yours. I personally think it's not that good or bad on my hair, but I'd rather style it with finger coiling to make it curlier and more volume :)
I don't hate it, but I love volume like you so I know what you mean. Also what if you try this again and then diffuse at the end with cold?

I am not sure that is best for your hair or mine (mine likes to seperate too). I love the Scrunchit brush. I saw poor Mel's Live one (I💓Mel, but that was painful). I don't think it is good her hair type but I get awesome curl enhancement in my mostly 2bc.
I got same results as you with finger rolling & my hair doesn't like clumping either (like yours)
RUclips how I use a curl enhancing brush differently.
(I prefer Shrunchit but you could use Denman the same way). Scrunchit give me better definition.
First 10 min is brush technique the rest is styling routine.
