Hey guys appreciate this is an older video but great viewing. I'm heading to Perth soon. Was this near Perth or a long way away - more curiosity. Beautiful catch. Might need some help and learn something one day. I've just bought a Penn 70VIS Hoping this will be ok and big enough? Cheers and good to hook up
I've never been fishing for sharks so idk.., is there a reason why instead of making the drag a bit harder ppl tend to keep it at a medium drag an just let the fish run an run?? I mean I would think it'dake sense to tighten the drag so it's not as easy for the fish to run in turn that would tire the fish more. Can anyone help with the answer to that? Thank u for help. Great video an nice shark guys!
Great video Any more videos of this giant shark Want to see the giant live shark struggling on the boat Want to see a live shark struggling in a boat Any more videos of this giant shark
Wicked shark man! Well done! Some constructive criticism is that I'd suggest to stop using the 3 point measuring technique. People will start to question the size of your sharks. I'm not saying that this wasn't a good shark but the 3 point method does measure them a lot long than a straight nose to tip measure. Keep up the good work mate!
Just trying to help out a fellow shark fisherman with a little advice. Not sure why you are having a go at me, you're the one with a disgusting attitude.
Maybe you don't understand what I'm saying. I'm making a suggestion on personal experience. Measuring a shark from nose to tail wrist to tail tip (3 point method) makes for consistent measuring between sharks but measures them a lot longer than if you were to measure a shark from just nose to tail tip. For example a 12ft shark measured using the 3 point method measures around 11'2" from nose to tail tip. Shark fisherman who have caught sharks of this size know there's a big difference between an 11ft and 12ft shark.
Joshua Fifis Your missing the point ... They are measuring them for there own use .. And wouldnt give a rats arse about some keyboard warriors disputing the size of them So why would they change the way the do things to cater for them ? And as you say the other shark fisherman know the difference In length from diff measuring points , so they can di the maths themselves right ?
It really comes down to the fact that a 12ft shark is not really 12ft if it was measured using the 3 point method. If you didn't watch the whole video you wouldn't know that the 3 point method was used. If you want to compare you sharks to some of the others big captures in the world (which I'm sure he does) then it's best to measure them in the same way. If you want to compare it to ILSFA records than you need to measure the fork length and girth and calculated an estimated weight. This is a good method but unfortunately it's not always easy to measure a shark regardless of the method.
Catch and release works fine with most game fish, but somebody told me the shark will die from this experience. Trauma and exhaustion is the claim. Is that true? Or will he be just fine? Next option after catch and release, is you bring him to me, so I can put a live sand tiger in my bosses pool. Haha jk, but for real, will the shark die?
The sharks have a very high survival rate, We use circle hooks so they're hooked in the corner of the jaw and we keep them out of the water for a little time as possible
Well done! I don't understand why you don't have any more views on your videos. They are some of the most genuine around.

Joshua Fifis Are you actually farking serious ?!?! What kind of "constructive" and suggestive criticism is that 🤣🤣
