I agree on the acts of service! Any service like changing the light bulb, washing the dishes when I cook, offering to carry heavy things, are a huge turn on. It's like he's stepping up and saying I got you, without saying a word - very sexy.

As soon as he asked where I do my thought processing, I said car to myself and when she did I felt like I was on the right team. I have a Janis Joplin song that will always make me sob and it is such a relief to get those feelings out. And as an aside, I grew up twenty years earlier with the same family dynamic and a very dysfunctional half brother who used me as the target for his own confusion. Tony, both your wife and Jessica Alba were highly interesting with insight and ideas that were fresh to me at 72 (with a social work degree that helped me unravel my own life).

Can relate to October's story when it comes to growing up in an unstable household and having to grow up fast. Parents separated when I was 5 years old (1987) and moved to different states. Lived with my mom growing up and had no father in household since 5. Had to be my own father when it came to the things that a father is suppose to teach his son. I had to learn from others experiences, society, Television, sports, entertainment, church, etc.... Was really observant as a kid because I had to be to learn things on my own that a father was suppose to teach his son. The only things I didn't teach myself growing up were like 7 things (how to talk, how to walk, how to read, how to write, things you learned in school from teachers, how to cook and how to drive a car). The talk that a parent is supposed to have with their child about the Birds and the Bee's (learned about that watching movies on TV when I was like 8, 9 years old). The talk about how to deal with adversity as a child, teen, young adult , had to learn about that through life's good and bad experiences I had in the 1980's & 1990's. Got picked on , bullied, made fun of at school and had no one to talk too about it. How to communicate and talk to the opposite sex in a romantic way, had to learn about that by observing people in public and watching movies. Dad wasn't around and Mom worked full-time 40+ hours a week and was too tired to spend time with me after she got off of work. Maybe 1 or 2 Saturday's a month she would allow , take me to do something I wanted to do. Other times I was an inconvenience and if it didn't involve her and my older brother. Most likely couldn't do it or go there alone. Mom didn't believe in showing emotional, mental, moral support growing up and didn't get close to my dad until I got in my 20's in the 2000's. Pushed and encouraged myself to Graduate high school (2000), pushed , encouraged and paid for my own college and Graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Communications in (2015). The only one to have had graduated College in my family between my Dad, Mom and older brother. Taught myself how to do my own Taxes when I was 19 by reading about it at the Library. When a parent is supposed to be their for their child when they get their first car, I took myself to the dealership and the car on my own. Some of things that I had to go through growing up as a child in the 1980's, 1990's would not wish that on my worst enemy. Looking back at it at the things I went through back then. Can't do anything about it now, just make sure my kids don't have to go through what I went through as a kid in the "80's, "90's". I don't have kids yet, still single and have no kids. At the same time making when I do meet someone , get married and have kids. I am making sure my future family when they do come. Have the best life they can have and don't have to experience the nightmares I saw a as kid.

October is an inspiration for people who have gone with what she has. I know exactly how she felt when her mother passed away. I felt the same exact way when my late husband passed, he was an alcoholic and addict, but not on the hard stuff. I felt such a tremendous relief, yet there was no guilt. Of course when you lose a loved one, whether the relationship be good or bad, there is a change in your life. People say when someone dies, the love does not dies, probably for some, but the love for my husband did die; it took awhile, just as when you find love.

    Absolutely was inspired to comment-
    1) you two are beautiful inside & out (from what we can tell..!)
    2) thank you for reminding us that every part of this human experience is important, good or bad..& coming out ok on the other side is not too small of a thing to be proud of becuz it makes us who we are -
    3) as a mom and a realist , I appreciate how October can be matter of fact/straightforward (ie: heartbreak) & it doesn’t detract from her being open & loving ...inspirational without the usual lectures -Loveeee
    4) also as a stepmom who adores & raised my bonus kids...it’s nice to have something to point to & say bad experiences don’t have to be the only part that defines you. You are in charge.
    5) sorry longer post than I planned
Keep these discussions up! Amazing content and good vibes :). P. S. I’m only half way through it..lol....October’s definition of commitment /brutal honesty, parenting, Co parenting .....meeeeee 👋
Edit: cute Chanels ;) , it’s so sweet to see Tony’s admiration like he’s learning so much for the first time lol....and reverse psych RE: social media and most things ...works like a CHARM!...no Tony giving too much logic turns their ears off. Yes on the school class to navigate sm ..mine are scholar-athletes and they actually do have to preach protocols and ethics due to college recruiting

I feel her, I grew up with a single mom. Hard working and two brothers. I saw her work her ass off for us. I grew up to be a strong minded work hard female, who finished school have always worked. My brothers had lots of issues and they were not strong!! I think at times we’re born to be who we are. I grew up with not so great role models as friends and some family. But I like the way I turned out. And I’m trying my hardest to be a present parent who is fully involved in my kids life’s.

Amazing Interview! I can relate, as two one my cousins were in the adoption system. They've both fought to become amazing adults in this world. When she has time, I think October should provide Counseling services someday. Love ya'll! Go Seahawks! ;)
