With all the depressing/toxic content on the internet today it’s always so refreshing watching your videos. The vibes are immaculate and you’re just a genuine wholesome dude.
Mav, if you intend to keep the truck over another winter, I’d advise keeping that truck bed liner instead of disposing of it. Spray it with foam insulation to fill in the grooves. Then lay down some rigid foam , topping it off with 1/4” wood of some sort on the floor and walls. Screw that wood to the ridges with coarse screws. This will add much needed R-value to the interior. After I insulated the van (lil 2017 Ram promaster city) It saved soooooooo much time and fuel to heat the van and keep it heated. Plus it makes a great base for build out.
I’ve actually found car camping in the cold far preferable to in the heat. I think this summer you need a series of camping in the heat and ways to stay cool! I’ve always got my golden retriever with me and his long furred self for sure prefers to be a bit chilly. We’ve traveled around the southern U.S. out of my suv over the last few months just adventuring and filming but with it being still kinda winter haven’t actually dealt with too much heat because it tends to cool down at night. Keep on trucking!
@Hen of Mayhem we spent a couple nights in Florida car camping in December it was like 70 degrees at night and it was by far the worst sleep I’ve gotten in my car. I’ll take 0 degrees any day of the week lol

For insulation, if you go to a carpet store and beg for their samples, those sample squares have a rubber backing on them that makes a great insulator. I used them in the Air Force to insulate the wooden floors of my tent, when deployed to cold environments.
I made the mistake of getting carpet with plastic liner on the back (not thinking) and it's honestly one of the biggest issues I've had in my van Build. Horrible thermal properties. If not for my dog I would have tossed the carpet weeks ago when the weather turned cold, but the old guy needs a soft surface for grip. Already lined up a replacement carpet with foam-rubber backing if I decide to redo the floor.
I’m hoping he does this lol cutting and bolting some 4x4’s is what I would do! Or trade out for a taller shell, got one for a f350 and spent some time at different resorts with my gf! Cramped for 2, spacious for 1!

You could try some insulation board like they use under tiles, then carpet on top. Its only about 6mm thick. And maybe a hinged drop down side to your cot that you can flip up to widen the cot when its time for sleeping? It definitely looked more comfortable being able to sit with your feet down and easier to cook when you are inside

Mac you can spray foam the underside of the truck bed w/o interfering with brake cables electrical wiring etc., there is at least a 1”-2” gap between the bottom side of the bed and the metal frame that the bed is attached to that actually bolts to the truck frame. The truck frame is where all the wires and cable are run.
Hey Mav! I’m loving the videos and cant to see what you come with for your new setup. You said you like to have leg room but also a wider bed. My suggested idea would be to have a bed that folds. One half could fold upwards latching to a hook or something while the other half could be used at a chair. It’s a tricky explanation
Love the vids! I have to say, chopping up and down that way is dangerous for your hands, inefficient, and wears down your knives faster. A smooth, down and forward, gliding motion is going to get you better results all around, bud!
I think a good fold down countertop, kind of like how they do in tiny houses could be the perfect way to get you table space and leg room in the same area.

ANOTHER PRO TIP, Padding padding padding, with a moisture barrier,/to keep the cold air in out and your body heat in, and you will sleep so much more comfortably!
VERY IMPORTANT SAFETY WARNING MY FRIEND! The fact that you had a mouse come in, tells me that you had plenty of fresh air ventilation! And your first idea may be to seal your truck back up completely, but always remember, the reason why campers are built with an upper vent and an intake vent, is to prevent carbon dioxide poisoning! And also, lack of oxygen, With catalytic type heaters.Important Message to everyone! Always make sure you have plenty of ventilation, with a screen to keep your oxygen margins safe, and rodents/snakes/bugs out!!!

Chef tip if it hasn’t been said in earlier comments little bit of vinegar in the water for the poached egg holds it together for that camping gourmet touch 😂 cheers mate 👍
Mav you should look at Adam Ryan's camper truck build. It has everything you were looking for and I feel like you could tweak it to make it Mavrick Approved!
I think as you had it before with the drawers gave you some clearence from the floor. Which in turn helped alot with insulation. Keep that in mind for your next build :)
That motor is going to be SWEET on your boat! Are we going to see any Mav water skiing videos in the future? Just make sure you have a driver and a spotter. My Dad's friend almost crashed our boat onto shore one time. She was the driver, I was the spotter, my Dad the skier, but she decided to watch him instead of looking where she was going. Can't believe you got another critter friend in your truck. Hope there are no more. Looking forward to seeing how you convert it this time. @@BrendanExplores i had already subscribed :) watched most of your vids , templar cave was cool there are some cool campers in the uk: off camping, Liam the terrible, Those happy days, Wills whereabouts, wandering where and Brendan explores :))
Yea old roots bring great memories I started seeing your videos basically since then I saw also when you built your back of your bed
"That felt so naughty" 😆 ohhh Mav, you never disappoint 🤘
Mac you can spray foam the underside of the truck bed w/o interfering with brake cables electrical wiring etc., there is at least a 1”-2” gap between the bottom side of the bed and the metal frame that the bed is attached to that actually bolts to the truck frame. The truck frame is where all the wires and cable are run.
Love u MAV keep on Trucking!
I have watched you from the beginning, I remember you shopping for your truck! Well done!
Love you Mav keep up the grind ❤️
9:42 Something like, “I think I SHOULD learn to pack a little more effectively.”
Next scene cuts to grabbing a handful of mushrooms... 😂 😂
Hey Mav! I’m loving the videos and cant to see what you come with for your new setup.
You said you like to have leg room but also a wider bed. My suggested idea would be to have a bed that folds. One half could fold upwards latching to a hook or something while the other half could be used at a chair. It’s a tricky explanation
Yay! 👏 A new build...exciting! 👏
Love the vids! I have to say, chopping up and down that way is dangerous for your hands, inefficient, and wears down your knives faster. A smooth, down and forward, gliding motion is going to get you better results all around, bud!
I always hear the Chef that I worked for yelling "ROCK THAT BLADE!!" LOL
Makes me nervous every time!!!
Bloody hell Mav! That's bloody cold!! At least the truck started! Stay warm Mate!
I think a good fold down countertop, kind of like how they do in tiny houses could be the perfect way to get you table space and leg room in the same area.
These videos hit different late at night. So relaxing 😌
I have been here before that video. One thing I love about mav is he doesn’t change he stays the same and keeps his videos raw not like other fakes.
Lol when you pulled up with the boat. I didnt know people had that strong of accents for real for real 😂 love it @5:27
This is a genuine comment. When Mav uploads, it always puts me in a good mood to go outdoors.
The way the mouse just looks at him like “bruh, it’s cold out here.”
Wow this take me back! My first time coming across your video was the ramen video! Love your contents! Just keep on truckin' Mav!
Yeah dude feel your pain. Me and my son spent a weekend in -40 in our cabin with our Cheapeake Bay Retriever. Cold held back by woods three stars bags that saved both of my grandpa's in a fire over 50 years ago This is a true story if you
ANOTHER PRO TIP, Padding padding padding, with a moisture barrier,/to keep the cold air in out and your body heat in, and you will sleep so much more comfortably!
Mate big congrats your awesome camping in those temps not that cold down under, great channel buddy thank you for the entertainment. Chef tip if it hasn’t been said in earlier comments little bit of vinegar in the water for the poached egg holds it together for that camping gourmet touch 😂 cheers mate 👍
I made your Manicotti recipe the other day, my 9 year old said "This is amazing.."
420 !
Safe travels bro!
Thanks for bringing us along...
Mav you should look at Adam Ryan's camper truck build. It has everything you were looking for and I feel like you could tweak it to make it Mavrick Approved!
Lmaoooo rocking with the old ASAP! Reasons why I fw your channel looool
I think as you had it before with the drawers gave you some clearence from the floor. Which in turn helped alot with insulation. Keep that in mind for your next build :)
Keep up the great work!! I definitely enjoy watching your videos!! On another note your tone of voice is similar to XXXTentacion.
The anxiety I get when Mav cuts WHACK WHACK WHACK with his knives 😂
I’ve thought many times, “If I ever meet this guy 1) that would be dope and 2) I need to show him proper kitchen knife skills” 😅
Every time he cuts the green onions like that I get so stressed out🤣
And I believe he has some sharpies.
Every time!!!
He’s gonna f up and learn the hard way
That motor is going to be SWEET on your boat! It looks way more comfortable sitting and cooking inside this way. Stay safe and God bless.
where was your mom
@@pratyush4real My parents were divorced.
@@coleengoodell7523 DAMN , WHY?
@@pratyush4real Well they lasted 14 years and both were wonderful people. But I suppose they were on different paths in life. It really wasn't my business and thankfully neither parent used my sister and I as pawns. People get divorced, it happens. I still had a very happy childhood and loved both my parents dearly. They have both passed. I believe I will see them again in heaven. God bless.
@@coleengoodell7523 I'm sorry for your loss sir.
Your gonna get a lot more mice since you drilled that exhaust hole for the heater. That's exactly how that one got in most likely.
You think a mesh screen would help
@@WhalesWilly, it would, yea
@@RogueRipple mouse will most likely bite through.
@@visaliabsaeteurn559, not thru chicken wire type mesh. Besides, steel wool packed into openings that mice travel or could get thru, will keep them from doing so.
14:59 pause it there bruh looks adorable n he's gonna be effed up xD the moment he was outside lmao all emotions xD
Idk why I laughed at 14:58 😂. The mouse looks like, "oh shit, he's about to throw me out in the cold now!" 🤣🤣
I put a piece of closed cell foam insulation on top of my bed liner and topped it with good plywood. It made a huge difference, especially in cold temps.
