Always wanted to do winter camping. Can’t wait to start experiencing that. Me, my wife and 3 kids have one week left here. Then it’s load up, and off to Fargo we go.
Sleeping bags do a good job capturing body heat too. I've slept in tents in winter sleeping bags in 5 below temps and I never needed a heater or electric sleeping bag, all because if you get a good winter sleeping bag, it'll trap your body heat for you to stay warm.

Your comment reminds me of me at 22. I lived my life with caution and got super sick. 7 weeks in the hospital, chemo, surgery, steroids… my husband dumped me. I went back to college, learned to ski, moved to Alaska and had a life of adventure. There’s an Eagles song about how we are locked in chains and only we have the key. Find a way to live your life as big as you can! I’m 66 now and a little worse for the wear, but I’m still doing what I can!
The "they want me to live at home so bad" grin was spot on..... Yes, they do but, they trained you your whole life to be an adventurer and they know you are competent to do it successfully. (Just as I typed this you dropped your pot handle in the flames!!!🙄😏🥴😵🥺)

Mav you are a HUGE inspiration for so many people who want to get outside and car/truck camp! Recently got a Ford Maverick xl, after watching this video I’m even that more excited to do some “mini truck camping”
It totally amazes me on how many of these camping videos there are. Glamorous camping, stealth camping, camping around the world, renting a moving truck to sleep in. Everyone is shilling a product from vitamins to tires.
I don’t know if you’ll see this or not but that doesn’t matter. Just wanted to say thank you! Lost my cousin on august 25 in a motorcycle accident. He was my brother honestly and we lived together. Your videos give me a lil joy everyday and I need that. So thank you Mav keep on trucking. I know my cousin would’ve enjoyed your vids as much as I do!

So Thumbs up or down on the sleeping bag? Thanks for testing it out for us. Love your videos. I've been living out of my truck full-time for three years and this kind of information is very helpful
Hi mom mav and dad mav. Good to see you guys again. I still think you need to use rechargeable hand warmers for a nights warmth, boss. This is pretty close, though. Keep on truckin, sir!
I found the perfect single mattress that is so comfortable and fits perfectly in the back of my Telluride. with the second row of seats in the third row of seats down and then of course you have rear air conditioning and or heat. Don’t even have to get out of the truck, just climb between the two bucket seats in the front hop in the bed I even run a plug-in fan into the AC outlet because I like the ambient noise. There’s just something cozy about sleeping inside your vehicle like that. Of course I just used it when I pulled over at rest stops and what not but I got some great sleep.
The fact that for the first time in my life last night I thought about how an electric heated sleeping bag would be cool because I hadn’t heard of it and just now you mention how you’ll be using one in the first minute of this video.
Hey Mav, I love watching your videos and seeing you out there doing your thing. We basically have the same truck too, I have a 2013 F150 XLT with an ARE shell. I was going to say I think it's super cool/fun that you make recipes from your followers and you were recommending for us to make the recipe but we don't know what exactly you made. Maybe include the recipes in the info for the video? Just a thought. Anyways, thanks for the videos and keep on truckin'!
You need to continue to add water or whatever for at least 25 mins when cooking grits. Stir every five mins so the grits don’t stick and don’t become clumpy.
For any of you contemplating doing below-freezing camping, just buy yourself a subzero sleeping bag. Don't experiment with gimmicks like electric sleeping bags, because you may just end up freezing to death or getting seriously sick or frostbitten. Mav is an expert, most of us are not. Videos like this are for entertainment purposes only.
That's for sure! I have a small custom built woodstove in my truck camper. At bedtime I let the coals burn out in the stove and I climb inside a very thick and extremely warm sleeping bag. In the morning it's just a few degrees warmer inside the camper than it is outdoors. All night with no heat can really get cold. Fortunately, it warms up super quickly after firing up the stove. Can't imagine trying to sleep in sub-zero temps without a very good sleeping bag. One can cut corners on some things but that's not one of them. An Oregon nomad 🌲💗🐶🐺💗🌲
Hey mav I live in Minnesota too and for the longest time I’ve always wanted to travel around but never had the time. Thanks for making these videos, really gets me hype to explore more when I get the chance.
I wonder how many miles his F150 has on it now. Ik it's a 2011, and he takes alot of road trips. Just watched a video few days ago where he went from California to Chicago... Route 66.. 2500 miles!!! Keep on trucking Mav!!!
I put 10,000 miles a year on my vehicle...and that's just driving locally. I should have 160k. But I only have 102. Mav has to have 300-400k on the truck.
Hi Mav, I feel that something was a bit off this vid and it wasn't the grits. Please take some time for yourself away from all of this. You deserve a break! Everyone will still be here regardless :)
to think they actually took the time to manufacture something that only works for 1/3 of the time that you would need it too is ridiculous lmao great vid MAV keep on truckkinnnnn
I have to let you know I've been appreciating these videos where you test heating methods! I'm from Vermont and often wonder about other people's understanding of cold/surviving winter conditions. I know you do, and definitely appreciate it! I have an idea to head south in my Yukon but won't be able to leave till after Christmas but also know I won't be able to make a 12 hr run without a nap. I have concerns about that first night 'cause I know how cold it could be! I also suspect a more traditional heater would be too much! Thank you for testing stuff like this!
Shrimp-n-Cheesy Grits is definitely one of my favorites. Season, your Grits as they cook, salt, pepper, and butter. Add sauteed Bell Pepper and onion. Season shrimp with Cajun seasoning and a dash of Old Bay. Chow down, brother.
Imagine that you are now in the woods and you wake up in the middle of the night and someone knocks on your car windshield! Really it will be a good experience with ghosts 😂👌
One can only strive to get to do this on the regular. Hopefully I can get my dream truck this year as well. Love the channel Mav and keep up the adventures! Keep on trucking!

I had deep concerns for you the moment you said that sleeping bag only went to 32 degrees. You should ALWAYS bring your zero-degree sleeping bag just in case! I worry about you freezing your ass off! Love your videos! Stay safe and warm!
Haha I thought the same, I went camping with an inadequate bag one night and wound up going home in the middle of the night because it was too cold, but Mav’s always got his trusty propane heater to fire up in an emergency!
So true, wish they could last for hours cause I like to fall asleep to them since they’re relaxing, he does have a live stream that he did awhile back that’s over 2 hrs that’s a great watch if you’re looking for a longer video!
One of my all time favorite meals, nice and simple is kialbasa pan fried, then remove and fry up some peppers and onions in the fat, and add back the sausage! Served over rice it’s a great meal.

Watching mav makes me realize how little I've done with my life I watch videos like his and other youtubers to feel like im there

I’m from Turkey and I love your videos I watch all night
*Maverick I remember seeing you grow since the day the thieves broke Into and stole your laptop you got a good positive attitude man, you make me smile I remember you did a review over the electric blanket but you accidentally got the throw lmao keep up the good work man safe travels and I'll see you down the road*
Mav you are a HUGE inspiration for so many people who want to get outside and car/truck camp! Recently got a Ford Maverick xl, after watching this video I’m even that more excited to do some “mini truck camping”
4ft bed? Goodluck with the sleep situation
@@user-white007 haha thanks. I’m a short guy so hopefully it won’t be too bad
Steve is nice and all but the Truck camping never gets old.
I think Mav should be heading back to Mexico for the winter.
It's not a competition and they're friends.
Who's Steve?
I like that you’re cooking with more fresh ingredients than you used to. Way to go.
It totally amazes me on how many of these camping videos there are. Glamorous camping, stealth camping, camping around the world, renting a moving truck to sleep in. Everyone is shilling a product from vitamins to tires.
No part of me wants to winter this year and you’re voluntarily trying out sleeping bags in -5 degree weather. You brave soul.
I’ve been watching Mav for well over a year and I can’t figure out why, but this is by far my favorite channel I subscribe to.
Wow. That's pretty pathetic, not gonna lie.

I love your content, Mav.. Im in aoutheaster Louisiana (the bottom of the shoe lacse on the boot) .. so I cant relate to the cold, (I guess thats one reason i watch you)... Keeeeeep on truckin- Crappyps here// are called Sac a lait's * sack a layes) also...they are fresh water gold!!!
Thanks Mav for another adventure. Would like to see more of the snowboarding. Keep on Truckin 😜
Seeing Mav stick his hand into a fire stove sent my anxiety through the rough lol📈📈
Roof?
So Thumbs up or down on the sleeping bag? Thanks for testing it out for us. Love your videos. I've been living out of my truck full-time for three years and this kind of information is very helpful
Hola!! From argentina!!....its time for new motorhome!!......💪
Haha love your mom she seems like a great mom and funny
beginning of the video "didnt read specs when buying" we've all been there!
Moms smile and wave was so good
Thanks you Mav for sharing another odyssey on a frigid night. An electric sleeping bag, great😜😜.
Is it me or did his accent get stronger around his parents? Lol
So adorable!
This man is living his best life, absolute *Legend*
Recording himself as a bum is a legend now? What the hell happened to society lol I like Mavs stuff too but cmon
Wow. That glowing horizon after your experimental night was totally worth watching the video.
Nice name
@@jesseruiz8411 Thank you :)
Hey mav I live in Minnesota too and for the longest time I’ve always wanted to travel around but never had the time. Thanks for making these videos, really gets me hype to explore more when I get the chance.
Oh Mav why didn't you peel the wrapping off the sausage. Lol
Love watching your content dude. 👊
From a southern mom - Grits can be put in before water boils & just stir - they are actually better that way 😊
I wonder how many miles his F150 has on it now. Ik it's a 2011, and he takes alot of road trips. Just watched a video few days ago where he went from California to Chicago... Route 66.. 2500 miles!!! Keep on trucking Mav!!!
the 2011 came with 5.0 so whatever mileage it does have doesnt make a difference. its gonna keep going long as he does the basic maintenance
I think he showed the mileage not too long ago like within the the last 8 videos I’d say I can’t remember

Alright Mav. Its time to show up for your youngest fam. My son is 5 and we have been following your channel since 200k. Every week he makes it a point to watch Mav and straight loves you brotha. Can you do a quick Facetime or Video chat and surprise him and say high. Hes your biggest little fan. That would be a blessing
I had deep concerns for you the moment you said that sleeping bag only went to 32 degrees. You should ALWAYS bring your zero-degree sleeping bag just in case! I worry about you freezing your ass off! Love your videos! Stay safe and warm!
Big mom energy
Haha I thought the same, I went camping with an inadequate bag one night and wound up going home in the middle of the night because it was too cold, but Mav’s always got his trusty propane heater to fire up in an emergency!
I subscribed to your channel👍
I am thinking of the same situation. Nd also think or hope to be in the same situation with ur company

I always get so sad when all of MAVs videos come to an end. I get so into it that 20 minutes flys by sooo fast and feels like a few mins.
So true, wish they could last for hours cause I like to fall asleep to them since they’re relaxing, he does have a live stream that he did awhile back that’s over 2 hrs that’s a great watch if you’re looking for a longer video!
Hey mav I'm a new subscriber i love the content you put out thank you for posting and making my day better keep on truckin 😁💯
Welcome to MAV world 🌎
One of my all time favorite meals, nice and simple is kialbasa pan fried, then remove and fry up some peppers and onions in the fat, and add back the sausage! Served over rice it’s a great meal.
Bro put his finger in a stove burner and didn't get one burn thats actually impressive
I love how you can tell that no one ever sits in the passenger seat because it looks practically new compared to the driver seat 🥺
You mean like every relatively new car ever?
