A double wielding Ranger Knight was my first character that I played back in the beginning of 2021, in Early Access. I had tremendous amounts of fun with this tank/damage dealer, jumping straight into the fray, demolishing every enemy. And that happened before level 5 was even available. Nice class, but my first character will be a Female Drow Dark Urge Sorceress!
I really wish that they had 1 bonded animal companion for base ranger, named. Then beastmaster would build on that bond, make it stronger and even add other situational summons, but all rangers having a pet would have been nice. Rangers without pets seem lacking and Beastmaster rangers seem lacking because they do not have a bond with an animal companion at all, they are all just a bunch of summons. Pet not being nameable, being a summon and not a real companion really feels different. Yeah they added versatility with all the different animals utility, but I'd rather the roleplay and depth of 1 choice and making it stronger.
Great video 😊 So many interesting classes and combinations . Thank you for the tips. Longest play time I ever had in a game is 205 hours (Witcher 3). This will probably beat it 😅
I don't know if you have a list of the abilities that have been added to the game, however if the Gloom Stalker is being directly transferred as it is written in D&D there are a couple of abilities you didn't mention. 1. You mentioned that in the first round of combat that they get an extra attack, that is true, they also add an additional 1D8 force damage to that first attack and they add +10 to their movement speed. 2. One of the abilities that makes Gloom Stalkers so effective is that in addition to gaining darkvision, or getting an additional 30 feet of it for those who had it already, they are also invisible to darkvision. Again, I don't know if these abilities are going to be in game, but I hope so. Also Iron will gives you proficiency in wisdom saves, or another mental stat if you already have this proficiency from something else already.

I'm def leaning to ranger for my character. But one thing I am really curious about is how in depth the animal companions are. I know they are "summons" but I really hope they get a lot of interactivity outside of combat (haven't played early access so no clue). Like petting them or being able to talk to them with the talk to animals skill, hell just having them around in general like they're actual characters instead of just a combat ability. Great vid and breakdown btw love these class videos!
@@jacobyrassilon Ah bummer, I'm probs leaning more to gloom stalker then. But will keep my eye on beast master in the full game to see if they added anything more! I know the devs talked about getting like armor and shit later on so perhaps there is more in the full game.
Honestly they are a solid class if you use the new Tasha stuff. If your an archer you almost always will have the highest to hit in the party and if you know how your abilities work you can do more damage consistently then the rest of the party
As someone with over 600 hours in the game since they let us in 3 years ago, the ranger will be my first play through for certain. Might be my 2nd as well as a Dark Urge character with gloom stalker and multi class into assassin.
Bro what I can tell you about ranger beast Master that he is the Beast in bg3. He will got a companion that will lvl with him after lvl 5. And those companions are brutal.
I would think a Drizzt Do'Urden ibuild variant. He s a hero in many books from the forgotten realm world. He is know as one of the few good and kind drow elfs where normally they are chaotic evil. Drizzt Do'Urden is a ranger beast master with a magical Panther as follower. Plenty of lore about him, just look his name up. 😀
There's nothing a ranger can do that another class or class combination can't do better. The different favored enemy types are useless because the skill you get proficiency in will be INT based and your INT will probably be sub 10. Ranger is very underwhelming.
Seriously... I already did the overview, now it's time for 12 videos that will become outdated the second the game goes live. From a content creation stand point, I have to make myself stand out in the algorithm and the only way is by volume since I'm. Not a large channel. It's a shitty toxic game we play dude. Hate it

Ohhh god i thought i was set with my dark urge paladin/warlock but now im very tempted to play a gloom stalker/assassin.....😅
If you're looking for ideas...I've started to wonder what the best possible build to fight mind flyers would be...
Gloom Stalker 3 Levels with 2 Weapon Fighting
Fighter 2 Levels with Action Surge
That could be fun 😮
Could it be better just Gloom 5 that has extra attack? No need to surge
"Play how you want not how the internet tells you..." ... key line boss.... still torn between PS5 version or PC .... :( any suggestions guys before I delve into this beautiful world again??!! As always thanks for the videos and keep it up Spartacus....
sorted... PC it is... game was built for it and definitely ps5 version won't give us the gfx options the pc gives...
I'd go PC too and later, get it on PS5 if it's on sale because you have cross saves and can play your saves on console :)
@italianspartacus really?!?!? oh for sure then ... did that for diablo 3 but had to restart (not that it wasnt enjoyable) ... tks mate grt info to have
I'm def leaning to ranger for my character.
I never tried talking to them, but in EA they just kind of hung around...not much utility outside of combat that I could see.
@@jacobyrassilon Ah bummer, I'm probs leaning more to gloom stalker then. But will keep my eye on beast master in the full game to see if they added anything more! I know the devs talked about getting like armor and shit later on so perhaps there is more in the full game.
Rangers rule. That is all
Sure, doesn't change the fact that his hairline is all fucked up.
Gloom stalker ftw!
Honestly they are a solid class if you use the new Tasha stuff. If your an archer you almost always will have the highest to hit in the party and if you know how your abilities work you can do more damage consistently then the rest of the party
Will it be possible to get a full party of same race companions through hirelings? (ie: an all dwarf group, etc...)
I need a Ranger Strength 2H build ASAP!
How do you know / pick what your beast will be?
Is there a powerranger subclass?
It's called Zordon
Cleric next!!
As someone with over 600 hours in the game since they let us in 3 years ago, the ranger will be my first play through for certain. Might be my 2nd as well as a Dark Urge character with gloom stalker and multi class into assassin.
And doesnt Dark vision double in range if you decide to play a character that already has it?
Yup!!
Great video
im torn between ranger gloom stalker or shadow monk
Bard overview soon? 👀
Good video, but I think you've convinced me to not be a ranger on my first play thru. :-)
What about the ranger knight?
Bro what I can tell you about ranger beast Master that he is the Beast in bg3.
He will got a companion that will lvl with him after lvl 5.
And those companions are brutal.
Ooo and by the way they are separated from you that mean no bullshit using the reaction and action of the ranger.
I think I'm gonna do 5 gloomstalker 7 rogue
Is the beast is controlled by AI or the player? Or both?
By the player :)
Do Cleric Next. No one ever does the Cleric until the end. :(
I have bard already done, and I'll do cleric after just for you
@@italianspartacus Love
Coming out tomorrow bro!
Im hoping bg3 just goes to lvl 20 at some point. You almost never get to lvl 20 when playing dnd.
Im goin full drizzt for a playthru
JUST TELL ME HOW TO MAKE DRIZZT
What's a drizzit?
Who is a Do'urden!!
Do barbarian at some point
I really hate these videos cuz I really wish I was playing the complete version of the game right now
Me fucking too man
There's nothing a ranger can do that another class or class combination can't do better. The different favored enemy types are useless because the skill you get proficiency in will be INT based and your INT will probably be sub 10. Ranger is very underwhelming.
Furry
Aw shit, its content milking time
Seriously... I already did the overview, now it's time for 12 videos that will become outdated the second the game goes live. From a content creation stand point, I have to make myself stand out in the algorithm and the only way is by volume since I'm. Not a large channel. It's a shitty toxic game we play dude. Hate it
