Facts, NO ONE could've foresaw this, and its not like he had to walk through the hood/village to get there. Plus the boy is HIGHEST level envoy. No self respecting noble family would attack a messenger,.... especially one just that's a kid,.... especially one that's a noble,.... especially one who's from the most powerful royal family,... especially a literal PRINCE.
It's all on Aemond. Nobody else. He should have been able to go, leave a note and come home.
I blame Rhaynara's because this was the same thing Veserys got upset about when she went to Dragon Stone. The heirs should not have gone and especially not without escorts.
@@leliamiller1609 I understand and respect your position, but this situation is different. In that initial situation Rhaenyra was going as a "hostile force" with Daemon. The reason this should not be laid at Rhaenyra's feet is due to precedence and honor. In Westeros there are three things that are absolutely taboo. They all have precedence and they are all actions that are known and respected by the ruling houses of Westeros. If you violate them you are known as a craven and a snake. Those are kinslaying, murdering or harming a guest under your roof, and murdering or harming a messenger/envoy. These are established wrongs in this world. So by sending her sons as messengers, an option her counsel would have championed and Corlys did, to a house that her family shares blood with and abides by Westerosi customs is not a move to create blame. Her son absolutely should have been safe under these preconditions. Sending royal children as messengers, wards, and potential marriage contenders is something that Westerosi royalty did. It was something European royalty did as well. Aemond is at fault. I apologize for this super longwinded message, but I needed to provide that context. Especially when fans are constantly much more critical of Rhaenyra than most other characters in this show. Your point though is totally valid and I think would be accurate in a hostile situation. But this was not that because of the situation. Peace terms had already been brought to Rhae so actual war was not in play.
The flashes of her Dragon while she was screaming in pain and agony was because the dragon was feeling her pain as well…. That’s how deep their connection is

Actually the reason daemon sang that lullaby to vermithor was because vermithor killed any person who tried to claim him since king jahaerys and that lullaby was the same song that he used to sing to viserys, rhaenys and daemon when they were kids as well as vermithor, so daemon did it out of familiarity to not get killed right away and he could be recognized by the dragon

He did all that to familiarize Vermithor with people again, like you said, but no a dragon rider cannot mount more than one dragon at a time, there's a bond that's formed and it's those two til death do them part, a marriage you might say. That's why Seasmoke is a big up in the air mystery because Leanore is still alive...surprised he didn't follow Leanore where ever he went to?
I thought that as well...unless he's been chained up and couldn't follow Leanore, that's the only logical reason. .
So if Daemon is familiarizing Vermithor, is he going to try and do the same with Silver Wing? sing they were always together flying about the realm with the King and Queen?
The reason why Vhaegar is so large is because she is over 100 years old. Arrax is only about 14 since he most likely hatched when Luke was a baby.

Emma D'Arcy said that was the first time Daemon was violent toward her, and it shocked her. But she was able to process it quickly because she also realized that Viserys had truly chosen her in that moment. He never told Daemon his most important secret, even after he had named Daemon heir (back before Rhaenyra). He only told Rhaenyra. So in that moment, she lost some respect for Daemon and gained respect for and belief in herself. The acting is top tier.

Daemon is impulsive and can’t control his anger he’s grieving and he lashes out when rhaenyra told him the prophecy
Daemon’s reaction was quite natural for his chaotic character as he realized that he was losing his wife to the very thing that made him lose his place as the heir to the Iron Throne. These dreams that Viserys was always talking about mattered little to him as he never understood how important they were. And when he realized that Rhaenyra was becoming Viserys with her reliance on a dream that he never understood, that was when he snapped. He loved his brother as much as he loves his wife, but the problem is that he just didn’t seem to see eye to eye with Viserys in matters related to how the Seven Kingdoms should have been ruled.
Also don’t forget, kinslaying is looked down upon by almost everyone. like it’s the one thing you don’t do. i wish they emphasized that a little more in the show.

Under normal circumstances, Arrax is faster and more agile than Vhagar. But because he's so small, he struggled to fly in the storm.
The very large dragon in the cave is VERMITHOR , the Bronze Fury. It was King Jaehaerys’ dragon. It’s remained riderless since the King’s death. Vermithor lives in a cave on Dragonmont, a volcano on Dragonstone. Silverwing also lives there.

Daemon isn’t bonding with Vermithor to ride it. He’s merely communicating with Vermithor so it will be on Team Blacks’ side in the war. Vermithor will have a different rider.

Rhaenyra doesn’t care that daemon choke her, she knows the man she married she was lusting after him ever since she was a child, she understands him more than anyone
Yup and she know it wasn’t for her he was more hurt at viserys not trusting him with the secret even actress said that was daemon first time ever being aggressive like that.
Daemon felt hurt & betrayed. He supported her 100% as she begged him to protect her from the greens. She assured him they will burn together and put back their house to its proper glory. Didnt they want to be perceived ruthless by their enemies? Why the sudden change? When did she she believe in dreams? Hence grabbing/ shaking her might bring her back to her old dragon self..(my 2 cents)

Balea and Daemon are out there on those missions too. Rhaenyra understands her connection to her dragon, she knew Syrax was getting ready to fire them up without an order from her because DEEP DOWN it was what she wanted and the dragon could sense that.

@@Caraxes_RoguePrince Daemon is going to the Tullys as he said in the episode 2x. Whether he's left or not I guess we'll see next season. After watching the episode again, I realize the THIRD dragon we saw LEAVE DRAGONSTONE could have been Rhaenys on 'Meleys' but initially I thought it was 'Balea'.

The Sea Snake is Lord of Driftmark (the island), Lord of Hightide (the castle) and sits the Driftwood throne. Yes it’s confusing. 😅
Rhaynera would have NEVER sent her son on that mission if she knew Aemond was there. She knows that her half brothers have it out for their nephews. She thought it was a simple mission but it was a missguided decision. Goes to show that the young are especially vulnerbale in a world like this. It doesn't matter if they're of a certain blood.
She is a bad mother . Why would she send a kid as a messenger? As a mother, you should always predict danger when it comes to your kids . I’ve hated her since Ep6 . Honestly not only is she a whore, but she’s also a bad mother .
Arrax was more agile than Vhagar, and could have probably outran it in clear skies, but the rain was so thick that it made it hard for the tiny arrax to stay up, whereas Vhagar didnt have that problem.

In the book Aemond he kills Luke and because he wanted not to and as he is showing in the series that he is sorry, the name of Rhaenyra's baby would be a girl and her name would be visenya
Rhaenyra wasn't dreaming of a dragon giving birth. Her own dragon, Syrax, was screaming in pain at her because they are so bonded. If you notice during the Battle of the Stepstones, Caraxes screams when Daemon is hit by an arrow. this shows how Rhaenyra and Daemon have a great connection with their dragons. Rhaenyra's anger burns the whole transition was so well done, her anger is completely justified compared to how they made Daenarys
Daemon as crazy as it gets, he loved his brother. From the scene where he stopped Corlis talking shit about Viserys in ep 1, helping on the throne to mourning on the beach. I don't think Daemon wanted to show weakness because Rhaenyra was at her most vulnerable and it wasn't easy.. (His last wife died in childbirth, and I believe it is also said that his mother died in childbirth and the wife of Viserys died in childbirth.) So the only thing he could do was prepare for the war he knew was coming. The scene on the beach was much longer of him on the beach Matt the actor he shot a scene on the beach the daemon suffering from the death of his baby who was a girl and her name was the series visenya but HBO preferred to remove this scene the daemon he is not no saint anymore he loves his family he loves his children and really rhaenyra just unfortunately the writers prefer not to show that side of him much, i think the reason daemon didnt go to rhaenyra when she was giving birth is because he feared having to make an impossible choice. The last woman he had complications with died. He didn't want to have to make that choice for Rhaenyra. He couldn't lose her that way. When he dropped to his knees, he was relieved that she was okay and had survived. Rhaenyra didn't want help during the birth because of her mother's death. She wanted to get that baby out so she wouldn't suffer the same fate. This series/book is awesome...
Matt Smith said that Daemon would give his life for Viserys and Rhaenyra. I fully believe he was heartbroken to see his brother in that condition. we books Alicent she hates Rhaenyra she was always jealous of Rhaenyra so much that I wish rhaenyra's death no and as in the series it shows that alicent is like that and because we books she does things because she because she is a bad person
Let's see the losses Rhaenyra lost mother and father and daughter and son and Daemon lost father and mother in childbirth and also lost his wife who is Laena and son and now he lost brother and daughter and two other children They are suffering, but each one of their own ways, the daemon starts preparing for war because he knows Otto very well and he is afraid of losing his family One thing I say is that the two really love each other rhaenyra she can't survive without the daemon They are the best couple like it or not they are everyone's popular Daemyra forever
I think the biggest reason people didn't like the scene of Daemon smothering Rhaenyra is because he's supposed to be a bad guy to the greens, but the protector of his family. Daemon isn't a saint, but he's definitely not a villain. He does a lot of bad things, but he's a gray character, and loving his family and protecting them is one of his redeeming qualities and some writers are trying to take that away from him.
The whole show is summed up with, "that's Barbara's boy!" Comment of the day.

The dragons went rogue. Both princes lost control of both and they started beefing with each other. Viserys warned that humans were never in control of dragons plus dragons have never been in war. It's new to these dragons.
Actually Vhagar does have 'battle experience'. Neither of the boys or the younger dragon have/had it.

The Dragon Daemon went to see is believed to be Vermithor. The second biggest (living) Dragon to Vhagar at the moment. He was the Dragon of King Jaehaerys. (King before Viserys) He's seen a lot of warfare, and that's why I wouldn't be surprised if Daemon wants to hurry and get him on their side fast. He said to be about 100 years old.
Also Arrax was still consider a baby. Rhaenyra even said most of their Dragons don't know warfare (Caraxes,Seasmoke,Meleys,and the Riderless Vermithor being exceptions) and would just lash out when they feel threaten, just like what Arrax did. He felt cornered and tried to protect himself. And to quote Daenerys "Zaldrīzes buzdari iksos daor ("A Dragon is not a slave")." She even had her fair share on troubles with Drogon throughout the Seires.
Vhagar is about/almost 200 years old and probably senile and having flashbacks and thought she was still fighting the Dornish wars with Vesenya Targaryen. lol
Also in the books they way they found out Luc was killed was they found bits and pieced of Arrax washed up on the shore with no signs of Lucerys body. So they presumed him dead. They probably also thought what other dragon big enough could just chomp another dragon to pieces like that.

Rhaenyra didn’t react to the joke really because she knows who daemon is…rhaenyra actress said that was the first time daemon had done something like that it was more so him choking viserys than rhaenyra. He found out his brother that he loved didn’t trust him with something so important and he felt bad on top of him thinking his brother was killed and he wants revenge…he also didn’t like the way she was handling things and wanted her to see how dangerous things have become and if she listened maybe Luke wouldn’t be dead. Basically the anger was for viserys not rhaenyra lol

All she wanted was to have a daughter and because of the stress over her father's death and having what was rightfully hers stolen, she had a premature birth, it is described in the book that baby Visenya was born stillborn, deformed, twisted, with a hole in his chest where the heart would be and a dragon's tail with scales.
no, a person can’t have or ride two dragons at once. Dragons have one rider at a time. In the book they found Luke parts and his dragons parts washed up on storms end and that’s how they found out about him dying
Correction: they found dragon parts. They never found Luke's body. There's even a fan theory that he survived some how and lived out his life with amnesia.

Luce was 12-13 yo. Not 14 yet. He was 14 in the book. But at the funeral, he was about 7 and it's been six years. His dragon was like a scared chihuahua, so he reacted and tried to snap at Vhaegar. Vhaegar was the great dane and bit him, as they do. RIP.
Rhaenyra is new to the war thing, plus her dad died, plus her baby died, plus they stole her crown. She was doing her best and needed encouragement (not a choking); which is what she got from Corlys and Rhaenys. The rules of diplomacy say a messenger should not be touched. It's like being a foreign diplomat.

The title is called the Black Queen because the 2 factions of this civil war are called the Greens and the Blacks. The people who back Rhaenyra's claim to the throne are called the blacks because Black and Red are the Targaryan's colors. House Hightower is represented by the color green and references Alicent's faction.

You know when they first announced this show I wasn't too sure if it was going to be as good as OG Game of Thrones and I am Glad they proved me wrong because I'm so invested in this show it's not funny! It's going to be a long wait to 2024 my friends!
In a fun book scene that was cut from the show, Boros's daughter asks Aemond if Luke took his balls as well as his eye. That's what set him off to go after Luke on Vhagar.

I saw someone tweet that the news of his death was delivered to Dragonstone because the dragon's body washed up to shore three days later. I don't believe they ever found Luke's body. Allegedly.

So Arrax head and neck washes up on the shores of storm's end . Storms end and Dragon stone are close thats why Rhaenyra sent Luke there coz she thought it was the least dangerous, but didn't think the greens would be plotting the same move..
Otto outmanuvered her. In the last episode, Tyland Lannister mentioned Boros and his daughters. So sending Aemond to offer marriage was smart. Rhaenrya assumed the Greens would just send ravens. She should have thought to offer Joffrey, Aegon or Viserys in marriage.
Even if she knew that Otto had sent Aemond, they’re in the middle of a Cold War right now. It would be a massively stupid thing to kill someone of importance, for either side. The most dangerous thing about sending Luc SHOULD have been how inexperienced he is at flying.
@@Drummer4President disagree on that point. Rhaenrya knows the history between Aemond and Luke. She wouldn't have sent Luke had she known Aemond was there.
@@havok6280 but if we’re going by the show, then Aemond didn’t mean to kill him. So, he probably got nearly the same talk as the boys from Alicent, who we also know doesn’t want a war or to kill that side of the family. At this point I think even Otto would have told him to not to fight, because everyone is still trying to get an accurate headcount of their allies before they have an all out war.
And the blacks don’t know Aemonds personality all that well, because they’ve been on Dragonstone. They had no idea that he would go rogue.
I do think they should have sent him with an offer tho. As much as they think everyone should keep to their oaths, they know Baratheon is a dick who would want something.

I've been doing streams on Twitter spaces about the show I am utterly obsessed with it probably more than Game of Thrones. I got to be honest I've read the book so I know what's going to happen somewhat because the books are not that reliable because it tells you three different accounts for almost everything of what could have happened. But I wish I didn't know because this show is just so good. And I despise when people spoil it for other people. I love seeing you guys reaction to that it's so good

Great reaction! Clearly the real queens are the three of you. So I’m sure someone has mentioned this but the book this comes from is a collection of “he said/she said” word of mouth stories - many of which are questionable. The show, according to Mr. Martin, is what actually happened. So you may read or listen (audiobooks are a thing) to the book and find the show dramatically different.

Be careful rewatching GoT. There’s a major spoiler for HotD in season 3. I forget which episode exactly but I’m sure someone will comment which one.

The dragon in the cave is Vermithor the 2nd biggest and oldest dragon next to Vhaghar. Vermithor was risen by the old king guy in the very opening of Episode 1, King Jaehaerys! So cool.

I had no issue with Daemon Choking Rhaenrya.
I completely understood his Frustration and utterly incredulity at Rhaenrya trying to spout Prophecy and Restraint as literally all of her allies and her enemies are starting to gather allies across the realm after Aegon has been Named king.
Daemon is right,if she is The Rightful Queen she needs to do HER FUCKING JOB and Eliminate Rebellion.

Rhaenyra lost her dad and 2 children in a week... Visery's said, "The idea that” Targaryens “control the dragons is an illusion." Luc's dragon was scared of Vhagaer and breath fire on her. Vhagaer was pissed that the smaller dragon did that and control was lost on both sides by the riders.
Yes, I was even like she lost her dad, her 2nd born and her newborn in the span of a month. No time to grieve. Anyone would lose their entire mind. I wouldn't be surprised in the next season we open up with Rhaenyra and Daemon on dragon back on their way to burn everything.

There will have to be two characters aged up somewhat next season or in Season 3 - When the Dance of Dragons ends, Rhaenyra's son Aegon (seen in her arms as a toddler) will be 10 or 11 years old; so he'll have to be played by an older child at some point, also the little one playing the even younger son Viserys will need to be seen at least once so he'll need a recast.
Well I like how they did Aemond with this because in the book he is the devil. He wanted to kill Luc and then take both of his eyes. But with this series they made it like it was an accident that Aemond didn’t wanted to go that far. However George RR Martin just released the novel for House of The Dragon this week. So excited for that. I also hope that Rhaena will play a big part not only did Aemond stole her mother’s dragon and now he killed her fiancé as well, (even though they’re all family) it’s about to go down!!!
You should read the book again and learn to interpret texts, Aemond didn't want to kill Luke, that was the gogumelo's perspective that he was lying, he didn't take his eye off him, after Luke died he left.
Luc's dragon is itty bitty, and it's weird because for the age of Aaryx, he should have been bigger than that, but Aaryx blew fire at Vhaegar because it's just what he knew for self defense against Vhaegar, in other words, just what dragons do,...well good thing, they only have 3 other dragons left they can do something...and Alicent isn't going to let Heleana go somewhere to try and treat with a house. Aegon is the king, so he won't....and Daeron is in Old Town, which already locked in with the Greens.

the dragon Daemon is trying to bond with is Vermithor, King Jaehaerys dragon, he is the 3rd biggest dragon, behind Cannibal and Vhagar, Daemon knows the war will come and he has been trying to get armies lined up and dragons for the war.
2nd biggest dragon* as stated by the Dragon Index, which is approved by George and doesn't rely on rumors or testimonies. The Cannibal's size is not comfirmed, but he's smaller than Vermithor, at least in the show.

the fact is luke did nothing wrong, he was like 6 when aemond was choking him out and gonna smash his and his brother's head with a rock. and also told him you're going to die screaming in fire just as your father did, and luke said "my father's still alive" still believing Laenor to be his father. Its just sad. he was just a little kid at the time it happened. so tragic.
Rhaeynera is a kind and loving mother and she raised sweet children. She did a great job and at the end of the day, shes a really good person in a world of misery. People are looking for reasons to not like her because it basically comes down to punk rocker liberals vs fox news conservatives. You find the people who gravitate towards team green tend to lean right wing. Conserve the status quo, keep with tradition, change scary. Everything team green holds against Rhaeynera are 10x of a bigger issue with Alicents kids. Btw, she taught them how to hate, thats Alicents legacy.
