    Another top tip for the carrot is to rub the flat of a coin from the battery cap to the button and back . Do this on the opposite side to the button and it gives you even more depth range.

    I know nothing about the Deus II, but usually Fast Programs sacrifice depth for speed. Great for seeded hunts with 2" targets, but not so good for deep relics. 'F2' = Field 2? Good Garrett Carrot information, David Earle is hilarious. I haven't seen anything from him for a while.

    Ellie I added a link to It’s Only Me Again’s channel for the forager programs. But I had a driveway and culvert job to get to and now I can’t find that post. If you can’t find his channel let me know and I’ll post it again. Sounds like you’re doing fine metal detecting isn’t magic it’s digging allot of trash to find those treasures…

      Only me again, Ha ha, his programs use far to many filters to be any good, bottle cap reject, and silencer are set far to high for detecting in the UK..

    • @martinsmith2984
      @martinsmith2984 8 месяцев назад

      @@shooterjohn7163 It dont matter where you live, filters degrade performance, the whole point of detecting is giving your self the best chance of finding what it is your looking for, there is far to many youtube celebs who lets face it only want likes and subs and know very little about detecting and the machines they use.

    • @shooterjohn7163
      @shooterjohn7163 8 месяцев назад

      @@martinsmith2984 I understand what you’re saying and I’ve been a detectorist since 1982. I worked for White’s way back then. Ellie wanted to see the program so I was just pointing her in the direction. Everyone knows you have to dig allot of trash to find the treasures. There is no miracle setting that does it all. People think that if you mask pull tabs it is better and they should know most rings and jewelry falls in that range as well. Every different shape and material makes a different signal so there you have it.

    • @martinsmith2984
      @martinsmith2984 8 месяцев назад

      @@shooterjohn7163 So if you have been detecting since 1982 then I would question why you would recommend this forager program,, bottle cap reject at 3 in what situation is that setting going to be of any use, good small targets on the fringe of detection in iron are not going to signal at all with bottle cap set that high. I have been detecting 40+ yrs and used the deus 1 for ten yrs, and have owned the Deus 2 since its release. Not to mention all the Minelab machines and many other top end brands over that time also. Here in the UK the forager program is of no use at all and I would not recommend it to anyone...

    I hate to say it but picking up the manual and actually reading over it will greatly enhance your understanding of the detector. All of the programs are explained and lists the differences between them. And believe it or not, the factory programs work extremely well. The designers did a great job on the factory programs. About the only thing I tailor to my liking are the audio tones and audio response. Don't make it more complicated than it needs to be. Not trying to discourage or pick on you so please don't take it that way. I still go over my manual every now & then just to keep abreast of the program differences. Hope this helps and you know how the saying goes.........knowledge is power.

      I have had a quick look at the manual but I have been lazily relying on advice from my buddy who has the same machine. I will spend more time on it, I just haven’t had a lot of time lately and have been managing well with my current settings.I know I need to study the manual sometime not 100% looking forward to it tho 😂
