Hi fellas, I can't believe how much you guys are getting done. Especially with all of the set backs that do seem to have. It seems to be hurry up, wait, wait some more. Your patience is amazing.😅 I have to say that I think lilacs are the most refreshing flowers. So Beautiful to look at and the smell is intoxicating. God bless you and yours. Love, jenwhite ❤❤
@@patrickjourneytothechateau9452 Hallo Patrick, danke, uns geht es gut! Toll zu sehen, was Ihr so schafft.
😉. Herzlichen Dank dass Du an uns gedacht hast. ❤😊❤
The planters at the door are very nice. Loving your blooming roses, irises and I myself love wisteria it reminds me of Monet’s Garden. I’m excited for the Coronation of King Charles III and the party at Jane and Tony’s sounds wonderful. How Sweet of you guys to make the Quiches and Cakes. Yum! I hope you have a fabulous time you deserve it. 🤴👑 P.S The Bunting is awesome Patrick ❤
Kitchen colours r lovely fresh & bright. Loved watching the sewing of the bunting that was a big job! I've sent a message 2 yr friends at Not Quite a Chateau & had a reply. Have a blast at the Coronation Party 🥳 we will b watching it on TV also being a Royalist & part of the Commonwealth. Keep your motivation going guys yr inspirational. Victoria 👱♀️ & Richard 😎 🥮 looking fwd 2 next vlogg & the preparation/party. 💛💚💙💜🖤
Thank you so very much we enjoy the fresh kitchen ambience. Glad Jane got back to you. We will have a blast and will film baking the Victoria sponge and the quiches. May I just point out that you both have very royal names…..! Next queen of Sweden will be Victoria. Much love from Colombe. 😊😊😊
Hi Patrick & Stuart , I watched Janes video yesterday, you both talked each other’s socks off 😊 while cutting out the bunting for King 🤴 Charles Coronation Celebrations which looks fabulous! love red white & blue, beings I’m English🇬🇧 this is the ST George🏴 flag which people usually display in Manchester UK where I come from,it’s also on the Union Jack 🇬🇧 I’ve made lots of bunting Patrick, in my time, for my Grandson’s bedrooms, from babies upwards! I make bunting by sewing two pieces of fabric, inside out, leave a gap at the top,to turn to right side. I pin flat, every piece on to bias binding,it’s so much easier to sew it together very quickly then! Love wisteria,it takes time to established & gets better with time, the lilac’s displayed behind you both, reminds me of my childhood, beautiful! Well I’ll be Celebrating King 🤴Charles Coronation here in Australia 🇦🇺 it’s starts here Saturday 6pm I’ll be having a glass or two of bubble 🍾🥂🎉with family till late! I definitely will be jealous & home sick, that i won’t be celebrating with my siblings in the UK Have a fabulous time on Saturday Patrick & Stuart 😍🍾🥂🎉🇫🇷
Making bunting, dear Sandra, is such a fun project. How amazing to have if made for your family by your grandmother. ❤❤❤ I can imagine that it isn’t easy to be apart from your siblings. Having lived away from my family for 24 years now, I can relate. The lilacs are fantastic here. 👍🏻💐👍🏻. I hope you have a fantastic time for the coronation. Much love from Colombe. 🥰💕💖
Gosh, who doesn't love Wisteria? Haha there's always that one party pooper online, ignore! One of my favorite spots in the world is a terrace on the back of a remote chapel on the very top of the island of Capri. It's an off grid setting with a really steep old donkey trail that won't allow vehicles of any kind, so all the local retired folks keep fit trecking up and down in early morning hours and late afternoon to make sure the place has provisions for the young clergy (dominican monks etc) who sometimes stay over in the little cells. (there's all the stations of the suffering of Christ on the way to sit and catch your breath and be reminded of the motto "no pain no gain", very handy 🤨) That one small terrace is basically the powerhouse of all the elders on the island, that's where they sit and play cards with the priests, drink a little sweet espresso and a drop of spirited spirits made up there, and avoid the tourists and the midday sun with the most tremendous view you can think of as the ravine drops vertically from under the terrace straight out to sea. The entire thing is dependent on an ancient Wisteria covering the whole pergola over the terrace lending proper shade and a mesmerizing dance of tiny cobalt butterflies and bees all season from the hanging purple canopy. My mind goes there everytime I see Wisteria, it's so beautiful when it becomes older with wooded curving stems, like a self supporting structure in itself. Violets, lavenders and blues are such a cooling sight for the eye in southern sunbaked months! The scent of lilacs is definately a sign of early summer here in Scandinavia but it will be june probably, before we get there. Did you know, if you prune them within 2 weeks after the flowering is over you will get two blooms for everyone cut, the following year? Alot of work but really worth it in places around the house! Coronation-party sounds fun in an anachronistic way Bring out the floral hats and teacups! I'm so impressed with all the work you get done between only the two of you (and all your nosey little supervisors!). Love/Jo 💕🕊️
All of those beautiful flowers are amazing. If only there was smell a vision. You both are working hard as always. I can't wait till your kitchen is completed as you want. I love the editing and music, and Stuart, you are awesome with the camera. I don't know which dog was doing the graceful bowing, but it was precious. The bunting looks awesome, Patrick . I am looking forward to the recipes and the celebrations. Patrick, Jane's episode yesterday when you were both chatting doing the bunting was lovely. I felt like I was sitting in the room with you. Please, you two do more like that. The brocanting/ antiques looked very high end. I obviously have expensive taste but a poor bank account. Newfoundland flew the Union Jack until it joined Canada's confederation, but it is still considered the true flag to many. My dear mom, may she RIP felt proud her heritage was British. However, someone did some research to say her maiden name was actually Irish. She didn't believe it, though, and she may be right, as most of our ancestors were hard to research due to church records and archives being lost to fires. As you see, you are not the only one to digress.😂 Lots of love to you both and the fur babies.❤
Hi Peter. Oh, how I love your comment and you digressing. What a great anecdote about your mom. Stuart is doing such a wonderful job filming and editing. I’d be so clumsy 😮😮😮. We’d be stuck at 500 subscribers. Jane and I have a lot of fun chatting. We will do more, I promise. She is a very smart lady. ❤❤ Now, sisnce you are part Irish…. Will you celebrate the coronation? And the stretching gentleman Irish in the Vlog was Aiden….. he is a true sweetheart, the second one is his sister Ember. We all send you love from Colombe.
your gardens are looking stunning and I was smiling when I saw your supervisors watching you doing it. The bunting looks great and will be a wonderful addition to your coming party @ Jane and Tony. Wish you fun there and till Friday 💖💖🥰🥰🥰🥰🍀🍀💮💮🌸🌸
Hi Ulrike. Thank you. We have some serious planning to do but it’s great work. Love it. Glad you li,e the bunting. My first attempt. ❤😊😊. We are excited to help Tony and Jane for this historic moment. See you Friday and then we’ll film some of the party. 😅😅😅. Love from Colombe. 🌷💖🥰
Hi there. It is fun to see a different angle 😊. The pot is really heavy and so unique. I carried it for 90 minutes and am glad it hangs on the wall. 😂. Huge from Colombe
Our Wisconsin weather has finally turned to spring, so I have also been outdoor spring cleaning. Planting will wait a few weeks as you no doubt remember that Midwest spring weather. I do not want to lose my flowers! HUGS....Eager to see the coronation party. I will be getting up at 4AM to watch. My hubby is making me English scones.
Ohhh we remember. 🥰😘. Don’t plant too early. But I am glad you see spring. We will have a fantastic Coronation party. Lots of guests and plenty of food and drink. Real scones…. Great hubby and what a wonderful couple you to are. Hugs from Colombe. ❤❤❤
Love everything that you do always the amazing flowers in your garden is beautiful like imagine all the smells also Patrick I realise you were sewing with still no cover underneath the table I am in our craft and a slower myself I'm very impatient and don't like to wait I realise after I saw the damage is on my table love watching your show as it expires me all the time and have my told my family to watch U2 can't wait for the next update❤
The iris are such an amazing color! Wisteria are magical. I’m sure they will complement the beauty of your property. I’m continually struck by how much you have accomplished in such a short period of time. Happy Coronation weekend!💗
Hi Sarah. The color of the irises is so delicate. The wisterias will be a welcome splendor. We always think we should be much further along…. But you are right. With only a little help (and some huge help from Tony), we have come a long way. Thank you so much. Happy Coronation weekend to you too. Even my parents are going to watch. ❤❤❤
Stuart please be careful of your foot u dont want to hurt it again ,l love the dogs . l wish you both lived near me we would be baking alot and laughing drinking wine . Can u put in little lights in your flower boxes by the front door now that would be beautiful?
You're both lovely grazy.😊 Stuart loved the combination of the dance music with the movement of the dogs👍 Flowers and plants give the Chateau a more softer image🪻⚘️ Scones are so delicious with jam and whipped cream...mmmmm. Growing up in Australia I have an affiliation with the English Royals. 5 years a song the Englisch National Anthem so singing along is no problem🎤. We have a saying in dutch : met de franse slag...what means: taking your time with getting things done. Like the delivery of goods😅 It's now also lovely weather here. Hugs 🥰😘🌻
We are. ❤❤❤. The bulbs and flowers are goin to be fantastic. I think we finally planted everything. 🎉🎉 We love scones. Delicious. Cream and jam…. Yummy. Great memories from England. And you grew up in Australia? There is a great story and we are want to hear it when you come visit. 😊 I wish I’d be taking my time. We adore you. ❤❤❤
The door planters are beautiful and it's so nice to see all the flowers coming on strong in the garden again. The dogs are really the princes aren't they as they watch with bored approval while you two slave away at the yard and gardens.
Hi John. We really love the planters too. The ground here is rough to work in. Tons of stones. But it seems to be what plants love. You described our supervisors to perfection. Made me laugh. Thank you so much 😅😊😅
The Coronation will air here at 3 AM, so I think I'll have to catch a rerun. Your flowers look so festive, and the bunting will be lovely. I'll be curious about the Coronation Quiche. Had to google broad beans to learn they're fava beans here. I think Anthony Hopkins ruined them for me, alas, with that famous Hannibal Lector quote. Hope the party is as fabulous as I imagine it will be!
We'll gather lilacs in the spring time 😂😂😂😂 beautiful, my favourites just budding here another couple of weeks. Iris and wisteria too !!! All beautiful.
Oh,guys you did a lot this week in the garden.Allthe plants, new and old ones, are looking great. I hope the problem with the tractor can be solved, because this is the growing season and you hardly can without it.
Thank you and as far as the tractor goes….. grass is growing like there is no tomorrow….. waiting for a response from the dealership. 😱🤔😩 Love your comment. ❤❤
Hi Stuart and Patrick, oh my goodness I can’t believe some people don’t like wisteria. When I think of France I think of wisteria climbing on walls and over terraces, outside Parisian restaurants, it’s very romantic by candlelight. I have a very old one above my terrace that I keep trimmed and a candle lit chandelier hanging from the beams where it grows. It’s where I have meals in late spring and summer with friends and family. I love all of your flowers and the lilacs are wonderful. It’s still too early for them here, but in a few weeks they will be blooming and so will the iris’s. You are going to be very busy baking and cooking, but it sounds like you are going to have a fabulous time with current friends and meeting new ones at the Coronation party. I love your enthusiasm and laughter. Many hugs xx
Good evening Stephanie. Like you, I associate wisteria with France. ❤ The image of your wisteria, candle lit chandelier and dinners with family and friends is just fantastic. Thank you for that wonderful image 💖🥰👍🏻 We live the scents in the garden. You are so very kind. We will share the baking and some of the coronation party…😅😊. Celebrating with new and future friends. Seining you lilac scene t and spring wishes. 💐🌷🌹
Such hard workers in your lovely garden with les chiens supervising! That is the most fabulous brocante I have seen! I too wish we had smellovision for the lilacs. !
I can only imagine. That must be like paradise. I read that the French had over 400 varieties of lilacs in the late 1800s. Was a favorite the. Great comment. Thank you. 😊😊😊
The party seems so exciting! I hope we will get a little peek of the festivities. My parents had a wonderland of a back garden that had wisteria draping a huge pergola and sitting under it was like a little world away from everything. It was stunning! You are both so busy, with a whirlwind of excitement! So much fun. I swear it's a good thing I can't get out to go borcanting because I would buy way too much. Well I already have, so my home is breathing a sigh of relief. Can't wait to see what you share Friday. 😘😘
Hello darling. With over 70 people invited…. 😮😮😮. It will be fun for sure. The description of your parents back garden sounds just like a magical place. Amazing for children and adults alike. We’d have a blast brocanting with you. That I am absolutely certain of. Love from Colombe and thank you. I always love your comments. ❤❤❤
The flower and front entrance tree plantings are beautiful. It looks like Springtime! The banners for the coronation party are festive and the party sounds like fun. Was that sweet Nessa assisting with the planting? She is clearly a love bug and doesn’t ever want to be separated again. Take care my friends, Ralph Rocchiccioli
Hi Ralph. Glad you like the planting for the season. The banner sewing was fun. Loved it. Nessa was the superior supervisor 😂😂😂. She loves her life but if she had a chance, she’d go explore again……. But she’d miss us much more. Love from Colombe ❤❤❤
YOUR 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY IS COMING UP OR RIGHT ABOUT NOW. IN THE VIDEOS ITS ABOUT MAY 18 BUT I WASNT SURE OF THE EXACT DATE. ANY WAY YALL HAVE MADE SO MUCH PROGRESS SO CONGRATULATIONS 🎉🍾🎈🎊
So nice to see the sun in a garden. We have had rain every day for almost two weeks. If the sun comes out, then it's while I am in my cubicle at work. As soon as I head home, the rain begins again. Ugh! Sounds like you're going to have a spectacular "coronation day" party 🥳 Enjoy yourselves!
So sorry Edward. I remember that from living in Northern Germany. Weeks of gray and rain. Depressing and it there is sun, it’s while I was at work. 😮😮😮 We are starting the preparations for the cakes and quiches today. It’s going to be a great party. We will film quite a bit. Hugs and sunshine from Colombe. ❤😊❤
It sure does. The lilacs’ scent hangs in the air. We have a lot of flowers in our park since we don’t mow certain areas. Farmers around here have money bees around fields with flowering crops. And we have a wild honey bee nest in the alley across from the chateau. Much love from Colombe ❤😊
With regard to lilac in the house, when I was a child we had a very beautiful French lilac (white), however, my Grandmother refused to have it in the house as it was considered to be a symbol of death and mourning.
Quiches and cakes and a coronation, oh my! Loved seeing the dogs at play, the lilacs and that rose rose filmed at the golden hour - Mother Nature is amazing. You guys are amazing, too - wish I was there to help y'all and hang out too! Enjoy the party at Jane & Tony's. Laissez les bons temps rouler!
It’s going to be a lot of fun. The bunting sewing was already a fun afternoon. Preparations for cooking and baking start today. 😊😅😊 Isn’t Mother Nature amazing. Love those roses. We sure could use some help 😂😂😂. Thank you for your wonderful comment. Hugs from Colombe. ❤
Good morning Stuart & Patrick, what a busy video!! Again you are looking so good. Happy relaxed and absolutely beaming, could it be the new season?, maybe you are more at peace now that you are settling down at the Chateaux, something is working well for you, The garden is looking so pretty, love the Irises, the roses and the grass is lovely. The hairy dogs were all around to see what you are up to, that is so terrier, they just have to get that black nose into things, alas, they are so lovely, great company. The brocants had such beautiful items, the temptation must have been great not to buy unnecessary things. I am sure the coronation party will be a great success, it would be interesting to see the celebrations. I bought some violas and dianthus to plant into a nice cement pot for a bit of winter colour, I could re-visit the nursery again for something else to see the colours as they were still very young seedlings and had no flowers. Petunias are also most inviting, but my favourite would be Irises. Enjoy all your preparations for the celebration sheet cake is great you can get quite a lot of slices and it is perfect for eating. Do show, we all have in interest in all you do and accomplish. Do take care, happy days, many blessings. Kind regards, Elize.
Darling Elize. Your comment is just wonderful. We are settling in and are more at home. Was just thinking about the sleepless nights in the beginning. 😊😮😊 Our supervisors have to be in everything. 😂😂😂. Love them. The coronation will be fun. I can I,amine your planters being fantastic. Our Irises are in bloom and I wish they lasted for weeks. Love them too. Looking forward to Stuart’s Victoria Sponge cakes. Love from us at Colombe. ❤❤❤
Cant wait to see the perimeter plantings in a few weeks when everything has taken off. It's going to be spectacular. Glad you're planting wisteria too!! I have a 16 foot "trellis" that I'm going to have mine grow on to afford me privacy from the neighbors. I planted it last year in a spot just to see if it would take and it did. Now I have to transplant it. So where did you find that "gazebo"? It looks like a beautiful old one. Any plans for it? Going to grow something to climb on it? enjoy the upcoming soiree's you have going on!!! Glad to see your channel is growing. It's no surprise - it's great!
Hello Stuart and Patrick , I must say that you always have fabulous music on your vlogs and how do you go about finding the appropriate pieces to suit the vlogs ? I love the planters outside the front door as they are very elegant but welcoming looking. The wisteria is only beautiful and you must be so proud of the work you have done in the garden so far. Bad luck about the tractor but thank god neither of you were injured . Enjoy your coronation party this weekend and looking forward to see all the food and cakes that you both are making. Xx🇨🇮
The music and editing is all Stuart. He is amazing. Glad you like the planters. The flowers will change during the year. 😊 We are happy about the work so far but it is not enough 😂😊😂. It never is. The tractor accident was bad luck…. But we have a coronation to celebrate. Yay. And we will be filming. Hugs. ❤❤❤
If you really want to give plants a real boost, deadhead or cut all the blooms off and give them a chance to settle in. I know its hard but you get stronger beading plants. Annual and perennials too. Lovely show. Greetings from Canada.
Thank you so much. I always cut all the spent flowers off and have had some good success with that. But you are right. It is a huge boost. Hugs from Colombe 😊
The Brocante looked to have some neat things i like baltic pine furniture and did see some dressers there . And the garden looks stunning loved the irises all lined up .
Thank you Keith. There are usually a few things that I’d love to buy but have to be realistic…. Maybe later. 😊😅😢. Yes there were some nice pine items. Glad you like the garden. Hugs from Colombe. 😊😊😊
I had a beautiful wisteria attached to a fence at the end of the driveway where I parked my car. One year it was incredibly and profusely covered with the wonderfully fragrant flowers. After the blooms were gone my car’s interior started having the horribly acrid smell. The pollen from the wisteria had permeated the ventilation system and began to decay. Just a word to the wise. Even after replacing filter the smell continued and subsequently had to have it professionally cleaned out. Chaching!
Oh gardening what fun, see you in the morning over coffee ☕️ 🌻🌷🌼🌸 oh it's a blue to have to wait for everything, and oh about the mower a much needed item ... waiting , waiting ✋️.. but the garden flowers are gorgeous 😂
I love that you do have wisteria and am a bit jealous. It looks lovely on a fence or supported on a nice arbor. I do have Clematis however which I also love. It's a bit early for lilac blooms here but it shouldn't be long. I heard from a little birdy yesterday that Patrick was going to do a Coronation Quiche - that would be a wonderful cooking with Patrick lesson ( hint, hint)
Love you Kathy. Thank you so much. And indeed, I will film it… that coronation quiche. 😊❤😊. Clematis is fantastic. We landed a few already but will go for more. Huge hugs from Colom ❤😊❤
Hi Pieter. In German we call it Blauregen. When I lived in Cape Town and volunteered in a hospice, people were speaking Afrikaans, expecting I couldn’t understand. Being from Hamburg, my family spoke flat German (official language) that is so close to Africaans. They were soooo surprised. 😂😂😂 And we have now increased the height of 3 doorways….. yay for the two tall guys (us…. And you are even taller than me!). Love you comment. Thank you so much and yes, I digressed. 😂😂😂
Yes, but they aren't here. We have encountered many people with old large wisteria, and it is not invasive at all. There are plenty of other real problems here like ivy and mistletoe. Thanks!
Oh, I envy you being surrounded by the fragrance of Lilacs! That is probably my favourite flower, with gardenias a close second. I love what you did in the planters with the single tree and surrounded with flowers....so tasteful. Wow, you two are good gardeners...the Iris, Lilac varieties, Roses and more! I love the bunting Patrick and I mentioned that in Jane and Tony's vlog. I'm very much looking forward to watching the Coronation. I love Victoria Sponge Stuart, I've made some in my time, so I'd love to see your designs. Great music throughout! You two are a joy to know! I apologize for not sending something for the time capsule, but I will certainly get in the next one. I was so caught up in things that were beyond my control, it totally skipped my mind. Sure looking forward to the Coronation!!!!
Hi Norma. Lilacs are magical and gardenias….. oh wow indeed. Glad you like our spring design. We even have a bird building it’s nest in the left planter 😊😊😊 The bunting was such a fun project. A treat really. We are excited to attend and support Tony and Jane’s coronation party. Don’t worry about the time capsule. Life has a way of interfering 😂. So, you will be there in the next one ❤. Love from Colombe. 😊😊
I could smell your lilac. My dad was a keen gardener and where I get my love of gardens from. He Planted a lilac tree at the bottom of our garden the perfume was indeed beautiful. The house was always full of its scent, 😘as vases were full during its flowering session. ❤
@@patrickjourneytothechateau9452 it’s truly amazing. I have so many happy memories as the eldest child I was his help mate. Which has stood me in good stead, Gardening, decorating even cooking. A man before the times. God bless him.
I read once that the size of the wisteria plant is the size of the root system to support it. Keep your plant well pruned and you will have no issue with suckering of the root system. I love your gardens.
In defense of wisteria, it's only invasive in regions where rainfall is abundant. It won't run rampant in arid or semi-arid climates. I bought a symmetrical, long ranch style, faux Georgian house with a 75 foot long front porch 35-ish yrs ago. My dream was to have wisteria grow on the porch facia from one end to the other. My plant struggled to leaf out to the top of its 8 ft tall trellis and never got to the point it was growing horizontal along the porch facia. I'm not an inexperienced gardener, but that darn wisteria taunted me. On or about year ten I decided to fertilize (organic mineral mix) the heck out of it. It finally bloomed... then died🤦♀️. I haven't bothered to replace it. Good luck🍀 with your wisteria gentlemen.
The weather way so sunny. Loved seeing the dogs running about and supervising as they always do lol. The countryside when you are driving is magical to me, It looked like you passed another beautiful chateau? The villages and towns are so picture perfect. I so hope we see you sealing the time capsule, what a thrill. I must become a patron soon, I know even a little helps along the way! 😘😘
Hello my dear Cliff. Loved your contribution to the time capsule. Fantastic. Our supervisors are making sure all goes smoothly. We love the countryside and a short drive and you will have a change in the scenery. Fantastic. We love your contribution and support of our little channel. Every subscriber and the people who recommend us are such a wonderful support. They are all patrons of our journey. With much love from Colombe. 😊❤😊
You have my approval for planting wisteria. I love their blossoms and as you say, they do have to be trimmed back to keep them in control, but that is about all they need. Your gardens are beautiful. Congratulations. You'll have to show off all the muscles you're building with all that gardening work. 🥰
Hi there Bruce. Thank you. You are so spot on. I sometimes don’t understand people. One person commented a while back and she never had a garden……. She just saw someone on RUclips commenting… 😂😂😂. I still have to loose quite some weight before I’d show myself with less fabric on. 😂🤣😂. But we definitely build muscles. Huge hug from Colombe. ❤😊❤
How can anyone call wisterias horrible? They are gorgeous plants and with right pruning and training make fantastic additions to any house. Well done for planting those. Much better that ivy being everywhere!
Are 100% right. First…. Better than Ivy any day. They don’t destroy trees and walls. And so easy to prune and train. Thank you Ludmila. And those flowers. 🎉🎉🎉. We sometimes stop and just look in awe. Hugs 😊😊😊
@@patrickjourneytothechateau9452 Clematis is another great plant. It needs support to clime up but different varieties can provide beautiful blooms all year round without ruining walls and trees. ❤
Gardens look great. To control wisteria and get better blooming, cut back the long runners in mid summer then a proper prune in winter or very early spring, depending on your climate. It doesn’t need to go crazy, hence its suitability as a bonsai….
Your garden is looking wonderful with all the flowers blooming. Love the dogs balletic poses! 😂 Hope the tractor recovers! Enjoy the coronation party. Should be fun. I must admit I’m a bit of a republican here in Australia. I’d prefer an Australian head of state rather than Charles III. Still it is an English historical event with all the pageantry. 🥰🥰
Hi Jennifer. Thank you so much. The dogs are a hoot. 😂. We will bring all the calories and cholesterol…. 😮😅😮. OK. 50% 😂🤣😂 As a German, we have an elected head of State without power. They are completely worthless. And no pomp and circumstance. However, I totally understand what you mean darling. Love your comment. All of it. ❤❤❤
when I used to live in upstate NY, I had gorgeous light purple Lilacs, I always wanted white and deep purple .. you two are making monumental beautification of the land at your awesome Schloss!! Tschuss till the next vlog 😍
You are so very sweet. Thank you. My granny had white lilacs and she adored them. They smell heavenly. I also want the deep purple. I’ll find it for next year. ❤. What a lovely comment. Hugs from Colombe. 😊😊😊
Hi guys. Really like the kitchen wall behind you in this video. Are you replacing the countertop? I do like the butcher block though. We have to build a fence also. Always something that needs to be done, and we just have a house!!! Anyway, love the garden work and the doggie trot throughs. Have fun at the party.❤️
Lovely video ty nice to see more of the dogs in the video with you love the plants and new planters look amazing nice comments in chat just can't keep up must be a old person's thing and great your still digressing
Me, digressing….. indeed. I can’t help it. 😂😂😂. Thank you so much. And our dogs, wonderful. Just so much love. 😚😚. So glad you like what we have done. Hugs from Colombe. ❤❤❤
I know how damaging ivy is on the walls but it looks so pretty - perhaps next year you could consider honeysuckle on lattices against some walls ? you garden is so lovely- thanks for sharing it with us
Your lilac trees are gorgeous! I’ve never seen one in person, nor smelled the flowers….maybe they don’t grow here in Georgia? I would dearly love to have some. And I like very much the topiaries you planted in the wooden planter boxes. I love the symmetry. Have fun at the coronation party. We’ll be watching as well…..wouldn’t miss it! Hugs! 🥰
Thank you so much. Lilacs need 4 seasons. It might be too mild in GA? Wish I could se😊me you the scent. The topiaries we planted are olive trees….. hardy and heat resistant. They are great. We will celebrate together in spirit. Love that we will be connected with so many people from around the world. Hugs. ❤
I love watching you guys and the dogs! I sure miss my girls. The chateau and the grounds are really coming together through all your hard work and planning. ❤
@@JourneytotheChateau I am doing really well, thank you! I moved my acupuncture practice to my house and it is awesome! So much less stress. I hope to save up to get back over to Europe in the next few years.
We’re planning a coronation party also. For us near Vancouver BC, the coronation starts at 0300 am. We plan tiaras and housecoats. Of course a high tea. With champagne. Love your vlog.
Hi Fred. Yay to coronation parties. We had a breakfast for the wedding of William and Catherine in Chicago. Also started at 3 am. Great minds party (or celebrate) alike! 😊❤😊 I’d love being at your party. We wish you a fantastic celebration and sending you lots of love from Colombe. Hope we will get some fun videos from the party. 💖🥰😘
You have all my favorite plants! I love wisteria! Its so elegant and smells lovely. How about some nice pea gravel in from of the front entry door way? The planters look great! It's funny that most of us are all doing the same thing💕
Great taste in plants! 😘. Once we find a company that can level and remove soil from the front, we will welcome the gravel. It is something I’d love to finish yesterday….. actually, both of us will be very happy once that is done. Indeed, we all have a similar outlook. Huge from Colombe. ❤❤❤

Love your comment Linda ❤❤❤. Thank you. ❤❤❤
Thé roses…oh my !
The kitchen looks great and it was done quite fast.
Than’ you Rita. We are making progress. And it’ll be seen next week. So happy. Hugs. ❤❤❤
I agree, impressive speed I must say! Even a small kitchen can take alot of time to get done with all the installations etc.
Love the lilac flowers behind you! They must smell fantastic!
The scent fills the room. Flieder ist wunderschön. Hoffe es geht Euch gut. Busserl 😊
@@patrickjourneytothechateau9452 Hallo Patrick, danke, uns geht es gut! Toll zu sehen, was Ihr so schafft.
😉. Herzlichen Dank dass Du an uns gedacht hast. ❤😊❤
So bunting can be reused for Bastille Day & 4th of July!
Absolutely 🤣😘🤣. Isn’t it great.
Thank you for a 100% wonderful comment. Love it all. And indeed….. Monet’s garden wouldn’t be possible without wisteria. Much love from Colombe ❤❤❤
The filming just keeps getting better and better great job both of you ❤
Thank you so much Tammy. But it is 99% Stuart. Love from Colombe ❤
Kitchen colours r lovely fresh & bright. Loved watching the sewing of the bunting that was a big job!

Hi Patrick & Stuart , I watched Janes video yesterday, you both talked each other’s socks off 😊
while cutting out the bunting for King 🤴 Charles Coronation Celebrations
which looks fabulous! love red white & blue, beings I’m English🇬🇧 this is the ST George🏴 flag which people usually display in Manchester UK where I come from,it’s also on the Union Jack 🇬🇧
I’ve made lots of bunting Patrick, in my time, for my Grandson’s bedrooms, from babies upwards!
I definitely will be jealous & home sick, that i won’t be celebrating with my siblings in the UK
Have a fabulous time on Saturday Patrick & Stuart 😍🍾🥂🎉🇫🇷
Making bunting, dear Sandra, is such a fun project. How amazing to have if made for your family by your grandmother. ❤❤❤
I can imagine that it isn’t easy to be apart from your siblings.
As you see, you are not the only one to digress.😂
Lots of love to you both and the fur babies.❤
Now, sisnce you are part Irish…. Will you celebrate the coronation? And the stretching gentleman Irish in the Vlog was Aiden….. he is a true sweetheart, the second one is his sister Ember. We all send you love from Colombe.
I love wisteria and much less invasive than Ivy.
Here in France it is cultivated and we have never seen it grow wild. ❤😊

Lovely kitchen, gorgeous floors! Lovely Lilacs there in the background. One of my favourites, wonderful fragrance.
Don't forget down under they have same colours!
Exquisite choices of music, blooms, and timing throughout. Thank you for all this beauty and charm!

Hope the party is as fabulous as I imagine it will be!
get you a few sheep/goats... to mow that lawn until you get the mower fixed/replace. Love the boxed olive trees at the entrance...very nice.
Thank you. Our property is not contained enough for livestock.
Great filming (especially the flowers) and love the music choices!
So sad that you lost your thread while hanging on by a thread! 😂😂😂. 😅 😊. ❤ from NY, love you both!
We'll gather lilacs in the spring time 😂😂😂😂 beautiful, my favourites just budding here another couple of weeks. Iris and wisteria too !!! All beautiful.
Lilacs are just fantastic. 😊😊😊
Wishing you a wonderful display of Iris and of course wisteria as well. Happy spring. ❤😊❤
Love your comment.
The image of your wisteria, candle lit chandelier and dinners with family and friends is just fantastic. Thank you for that wonderful image 💖🥰👍🏻

Rochester, NY has one of the largest lilac gardens in the world. It is divine visiting in the spring.

We are starting the preparations for the cakes and quiches today. It’s going to be a great party. We will film quite a bit. Hugs and sunshine from Colombe. ❤😊❤
Your yard must smell like heaven. Such variety of beautiful flowers, sure to attract honey bees and hummingbirds
We have a beautiful white wisteria, it flowers later than the purple one
With regard to lilac in the house, when I was a child we had a very beautiful French lilac (white), however, my Grandmother refused to have it in the house as it was considered to be a symbol of death and mourning.
Yes, but we have wind chimes, so it will distract the faeries. All good! Thanks!
Isn’t Mother Nature amazing.
Our supervisors have to be in everything. 😂😂😂.

The tractor accident was bad luck…. But we have a coronation to celebrate. Yay.

I love wisteria…good choice…go for it❤
I had a beautiful wisteria attached to a fence at the end of the driveway where I parked my car. Chaching!
It is good for us that we do not have our cars anywhere near the wisteria.
Big Fan here! Hope Good things keep growing and growing for you both.
Hi there from Canada..have a ball at the Coronation party

It is great that you planted wisteria. In my language (Afrikaans) it is called bloureën (lit. blue rain).
La glycine in french, very popular here
Hi Pieter. In German we call it Blauregen. When I lived in Cape Town and volunteered in a hospice, people were speaking Afrikaans, expecting I couldn’t understand. Being from Hamburg, my family spoke flat German (official language) that is so close to Africaans. They were soooo surprised. 😂😂😂
And we have now increased the height of 3 doorways….. yay for the two tall guys (us…. And you are even taller than me!).

The wisteria here in GA, US, are wild and terrible! They engulf structures! Terribly invasive here!
We even have a bird building it’s nest in the left planter 😊😊😊
The bunting was such a fun project. A treat really.

I love wisteria!! I agree with you. I wish we had the climate for it here in Colorado. 😢
I live in Australia, and Wisteria is one of my favourite plants, you just have to prune regularly, for me there are not rules you can’t kill it.
Thank you Dale. ❤❤
I could smell your lilac. My dad was a keen gardener and where I get my love of gardens from. He Planted a lilac tree at the bottom of our garden the perfume was indeed beautiful. The house was always full of its scent, 😘as vases were full during its flowering session. ❤

Your plants are lovely, you should have an abundance of colour in the garden soon.
Thank you so much. We have new flowers every week. It is magical. Hugs ❤❤❤
I read once that the size of the wisteria plant is the size of the root system to support it. Keep your plant well pruned and you will have no issue with suckering of the root system. I love your gardens.
What a great tip and I think you are 100% right. Much love from Colombe. 🥰😘💖
The lilacs are beautiful. One of my favorites. I’m jealous.
Thank you. They are fantastic. Hugs. ❤❤
Fantastic fellas!!
My lilacs in Massachusetts are about a week away from blooming, and I just found my first iris buds. Keep up the great gardening!
Yay for lilacs. Happy to hear it. And yes we will keep it up. Enjoy your irises. Love from Colombe ❤❤❤

The flowers are beautiful.❤
❤xx
Gardens look great. To control wisteria and get better blooming, cut back the long runners in mid summer then a proper prune in winter or very early spring, depending on your climate. It doesn’t need to go crazy, hence its suitability as a bonsai….
Thank you John, for the input. Will make sure that we follow your advice. Huge thank you. ❤❤❤
😮😅😮. OK. 50% 😂🤣😂
As a German, we have an elected head of State without power.
@@patrickjourneytothechateau9452 Danke
Hi guys. Really like the kitchen wall behind you in this video. Are you replacing the countertop? I do like the butcher block though. We have to build a fence also. Always something that needs to be done, and we just have a house!!! Anyway, love the garden work and the doggie trot throughs. Have fun at the party.❤️
Hi Gloria! Yes, that is just a temporary countertop, but we agree it does look nice. We will reuse it later for another kitchen in the chateau. ❤️
all is perfect also love your flowers behind you
Purple irises are my favorite!
I know how damaging ivy is on the walls but it looks so pretty -
perhaps next year you could consider honeysuckle on lattices against some walls ?
you garden is so lovely- thanks for sharing it with us
we do already have some large honeysuckle plants growing against some walls.
Thank you so much, Fran! ❤️ We hope you are doing well!
@@JourneytotheChateau I am doing really well, thank you! I moved my acupuncture practice to my house and it is awesome! So much less stress. I hope to save up to get back over to Europe in the next few years.
I love your tractor, sorry about the damage...that must be infuriating.
I’d love being at your party. We wish you a fantastic celebration and sending you lots of love from Colombe. Hope we will get some fun videos from the party. 💖🥰😘
Another wonderful vlog. Gardening, sewing and brocantes. Do you have hydrangeas? Wisteria are beautiful. I will see you Friday!!!!!
Yes, we have a lot of hydrangeas, but we just need to get them planted. 😂
