Hi phantomrose1999. I started with a damp cloth which removed the dust and loose stuff. Don't use dish washing up liquid as it's corrosive and can cause corrosion/ bloom. The S640 has a nickle plated chassis so I used car paint restorer (or Brasso) with a soft cotton cloth. Use it very gently or you will go through the plating, then remove residue with solvent or a damp cloth. Steel chassis are more of a problem especially if there's rust. Professionals strip all the components and get the chassis acid dipped and re-plated, not cheap. I've used Brasso and then a light spray of clear lacquer but remember to remove lacquer around any chassis connections. See my rebuild of a 'Phillips PCR' for the result; ruclips.net/video/9waEzKgK9J0/видео.html Regards - Mike
@@mikeb1043 Tks for responding. I do electrically restore many but never went all the way to make the chassis like new. Thanks for the tips, never thought of brasso
Great RADIO indeed.
Magnificent restoration ! How did you clean the chassis pls ?
