- This is how I modified my 4x4 on board air compressor for $18 so that it can be turned on and off using a remote control. You can do the same thing with a portable 4x4 12v air compressor too. I used a small circuit board available:

Thanks for using the above link. It helps support my channel.
The circuit board (above) relies on 433mhz wireless frequency. The kit gives you the circuit board, a remote control and a small plastic case for the circuit board to sit in. The plastic case has screw mounts.
In essence, we remove the small switch on your air compressor. Find the wire behind the switch that turns the compressor on. We run that single wire to the provided circuit board and follow the simple wiring diagram in the video. The final product allows you to switch on and off the air compressor using the remote control provided in the kit.
In comparison, many air compressors have to be turned off using a hard wired switch. This makes it difficult to determine the actual tyre pressure on the in-line gauge since the compressor needs to be off to get a true reading.
This mod makes it heaps easier to get the tyre pressure without going back to the compressor to turn it off. Хобби
With the wire coming from the compressor does that go into normally open or common or normally closed
Hi great idea. I have a kings compressor which is negatively switched so is this possible without adding a relay to main compressor power?
Yeah the little relay board can switch negative too (it's just a different jumper wire config.)
Hey mate if you leave the compressor in the on position can you eliminate the switch to power the controll box
Leaving the compressor switch on would result in a parasitic draw. It might flatten the battery over a long period of time. Also it means if hit the remote switch accidentally, the compressor would turn on. I wouldn't recommend it but yeah, it is one way to eliminate the remote switch.
I totally agree I decided to set mine up like you did I’m currently waiting for my remote switch in the mail. Thanks heaps for the video it’s helped a lot 👍🏼
Your link to the switch doesn't work anymore dude!
Thanks mate, link updated!
@@Unfastened Cheers!
