Kerrigan was transformed 4 years ago. Remember when the cutscenes started Kerrigan was already leading the swarm on an invasion.
Cut scenes are dope but I highly recommend watching/playing the whole campaign including the gameplay. The dialogue and conversation arent necessarily needed to get the first of the story but the overall experience is enhanced and you get the understand better. It is tedious and a little boring if your the watcher but me personally I would really enjoy you getting the full experience.
Tosh is a Specter... they are basically next gen ghosts but are feared to be a bit more unstable in the mind. As you play the game you get a part where you have to choose to side with the Tosh and the Specters or go along with Nova who is a Ghost and kill the Specters. Obviously this play through was one which sided with the Ghosts instead of the Specters.
She is the queen of blades because of the bone blades on her back that she uses to cut people in half
the infested doc was a choice direction for the campaign she leaves if you help her research into the Zerg and turns if you don't
The two Ariel Hanson and Tosh clips are two different cutscenes depending on missions you choose, so it's a bit strange to see it like this. You get a lot of information in the mission briefings so those should really be included also. The Tosh clips are dependant on if you help him and release the Spectre (a new Ghost prototype) or Nova, Mengsks current top Ghost.
You have different paths you can take, and the two videoes with the science chick, is the two different outcomes from your mission choices.
so Kerrigan is known as the queen of blades because it's said that zerg claws are sharp and long like blades. one the zergs most feared creatures is the Ultralysk which is like a giant elephant type thing with huge blades/scythes on either side (u'll see the creatures in heart of the swarm and legacy of the void). when the swarm attacks in full force it just likes a sea of fangs and claws (blades) hence she is the queen of blades
ps they kept Kerrigan alive because the overmind (zerg central controlling entity) sensed her anger at being betrayed (because she's a psychic as well as a ghost)... thus it knew they could harness that anger and hatred to use against her own species.

@Vk Deen So Mengsk really messed up then. Botched betrayal and left her to die which backfired as the Swarm used that anger to turn her into the Queen of Blades and the rest is history. Well done Mengsk...well done 👏😁
The reason the zerg kept her alive was because she had an extremely powerful psi rating, the most powerful on record, and they sensed it. The Terran had to readjust their entire psionic power measurement scale because of her. So instead of just killing her, they infested her, and she eventually took over and became the Queen of the Zerg.

the actual reason the Overmind took her and kept her alive was because it wanted to create a being that could stop Amon, a godlike being bent on bringing annihilation to all three races of the galaxy. The Overmind was enslaved to Amons will but this was its act of rebellion against its master.
A little late but great observation on Raynor constantly drinking! This was deliberate by the devs to show how far he has fallen and show the only way he can live with his guilt is to to drink.
Some of the missions you have 2 options. For instance in the first clip Ariel Hanson mentions the Protoss being angry, and in the next cutscene she is a infested terran. You get those cuscenes depending on the choice of the mission you take. If you side with the Protoss, Ariel Hanson doesnt find a cure you detect that the terran populace is infested and you eliminate them and then Raynor has to kill Ariel Hanson. If you side with the Terran colonists Ariel Hanson finds a cure and you have to fight the Protoss.
6:18 me too! Mengsk has the pocket watch with a chain. You should react to the Brood War intro for the Original Starcraft. It hasn’t dated that well, but the admirals in that cutscene have an old fancy clock.
that mission has two endings with the doctor
In case you're wondering, the cutscene where Ariel leaves uninfested and the cutscene where you team up with Tosh are the canon ones.
I actually prefer the ending where she dies. I think it fits the story better. Also, it's the one I went with, cause I was convinced by the Protoss' argument.
@@christoperwallace6197 I prefer that one too. Though I hated that they made the zergified Ariel spew those cheesy lines. Would have been better to have just kept her quiet, would have made us question just how much of her was left.
@@Servellion interesting. I never thought how that scene would play with her silent. I feel like she needed to talk though, to really drive home the Kerrigan Parallel for Raynor. Maybe she could have talked less.
noice there is a very big things that doesn't showed in cutscenes when tychus meet's wit Jim he said about artifact. in the last scene you've seen Jim meet with Valerian. at that time you've collected 3 or 4 artifact thats the key to rescue Kerrigan i'm saying this because in the last cutscenes you will see the artifact all together but in all cutscene they only mention it once .

Man I love you reaction to these. Once you're done with the Starcraft 2 cinematics, might I recommend you watch the Heroes of the Storm cinematic trailer. It's a fun little thing after meeting alot of Blizzard's different characters. Maybe watch Diablo 3 cinematics prior to it aswell.
Heroes of Storm? Consider it add to the list! I have had my eye on the Diablo 3 cinematics and cutscenes for some tome now too. The only problem is my list is growing faster that I can go through them! 😂 Then again I guess that is a good “problem” to have!😁
There is definitely a hate triangle going on. Kerrigan leading the Zerg in a war against the Dominion empire against emperor Mengks, slaughtering thousands along the way. Mengks not only having to defend his people, but is also hunting Jim Raynor who poses a political threat, as Jim knows about the war crimes Mengks has done and Jim conflicted between loving a monster that slaughters innocent people, hating Mengks for being a tyrant and hating Mengks for what he has done to Kerrigan.
The doctor bit, theses are 2 alternative versions of the same mission. The ending depends on your choices.
The Guy Tosh is in fact a "ghost", but not really. They are a special type of a ghost, they call themselves specters, they uses special gases to enhance their abilities. The the scenes are also 2 different parts of the same missions. You either help him brake into a prison, or don't. Thus resulting in a friendly and a less friendly attitude. The blond chick is Nova, she is a ghost and representing the authorities, by not braking into the prison you help her find Tosh.
As for the ending scene, remember at the start where Tychus said that someone is paying to get alien artifacts. Well that someone is the Moebius Cooperation, which as the end suggests is owned by Valerian Megnks, the prince so to say.

It didn't cross my mind that the doctor scene and the one with Tosh might both be alternative versions based on in game decisions.
Never thought about that with the end scene, so like he said technically i am your backer. Glad i unintentionally left part one on a good ending!
I bet seeing both endings of alternate paths was a bit confusing.

I'm obviously a little late to the party here, but originally the Zerg were led by a single being called the Overmind. The Overmind was created by the fallen Xel'Naga called Amon and was given the purpose of wiping out the Protoss. The Overmind realized after centuries of war that they couldn't win and continuing the war would only end with the death of the Zerg. So when the Zerg captured Kerrigan, the Overmind recognized her psionic potential and turned her into the Queen of Blades so she could lead the Zerg and free them of Amon's directive. That was the hope anyway, but Amon's influence extended to the new Queen of Blades which is why she went on a killing spree during the event known as the Brood War and all throughout Wings of Liberty
Not sure if this was answered somewhere else. I did skim the other comments and didn't see it, but maybe I missed it.
Anyway, the reason she is called "The Queen of Blades" is because she is named after Nancy Kerrigan, the figure skater, nicknamed "The Queen of Blades", referring to the blades on ice skates. She was famous at the time of making Starcraft 1 for getting assaulted during the tryouts for the Olympics. The makers of SC1 thought she was badass for continuing to compete despite injury to her knee, so they named a badass female character after her ("Sarah Kerrigan").
Some of the cut scenes are where you can go 2 way that changes the gameplay and what happens.
so that is why some of them contradicts each others.
and most other questions can be answered by playing the game :D

maybe a little late, but the cinematics are half there, you should check the
"Movies" or the recopilation of cinematic runs, as those are in a chrono order that makes more sence than the way you are doing it, as you are not seeing the intros to the missions, and theree is alot of context there. the run in your instalattion is more or less a speed run for each character instead of a walkthorugh for the story
men, direction in this ingame cinematics is amazing

Yeah think it’s going to be maybe 15 parts in total but I really want to cover every aspect when I watch something as deep as Starcraft. No point in just a skimming over it by just watching the main cinematics.
The reason Sarah Kerrigan was not killed was because the leader of the zerg, the Overmind, sensed her strong psionic ability and her anger toward Mensk. She is a troubled girl for sure, tore her mother head apart with her power when she was young. Got conscripted into the Ghost program, forced to use her power that she hated. They inject the kitten with tumor to force her to use her psionic power to either kill it or cure it by killing the tumor. When she still refused to use it, they pull out a gun and threaten to shoot it. Suffice to say Kerrigan life was shit before Jim Raynor..
I kinda guess that he life might have been hard but had no idea it was this dark!😳 So after all that.... Mengsk then leaves her to die on an alien planet?! No wonder she's pissed. Looks like the Zerg are just a vehicle for he to get her sweet revenge!
@@TheReelSym Oh man and she was brutal after she became zerg.. She and zeratul (mystic protoss dude) has a past in SC1 too. Basically used her friends from when she was human((jim, zeratul, even mengsk) to manipulate them into helping her consolidate power over all zergs (even after she was turned she was nothing if not for her cunningness). Millions died, blood on her hand, also killing Zeratul's leader by corrupting her. Thats why Zeratul said Justice demand that she die for what she did.
how she was turned into queen of blades, will be shown in Heart of the swarm. And why she was picked, besides her psionic powers, will be shown in Legacy of the void mostly (but hints will be here and in Heart of the swarm)
No not every ghost is that valuable, but Sarah Kerrigan is the most powerful Psionic being in the universe. Later at the end of the games she becomes just that

That’s good to hear! Will be going through all cutscenes all the way up to The Legacy of the Void, think it’s gonna be 15 parts in total! Thinking if I’m going to cover something as deep as Starcraft I might as well try and do it properly! 🙂
@@TheReelSym Another Video idea for you is a cinematic cutscene of Zeratul (the protoss who gave that item to Jim) and the Queen of blades. The cinematic shows Zeratul finding the "riddle" that he later tells Jim and why he was injured (he was holding onto his arm).

They absolutely 100% should have made Starcraft a movie series instead of Warcraft.
in original game, zerg took her in, because of her psyonic abilities, but you will see deeper explanation in next xpac cutscenes, so dont read comments, where people are telling you explenation already.
A lot of things not explained here, will be explained in next expansions also.
About the scientist, 2 cutscenes show 2 different choices you made in game, so is with the spectre, spectres are like corrupted ghosts, if you chose not to help him, you get the second cutscene, if you help him, you get the first one.

Really late but it was stated that Kerrigan had the highest physonic ability for humans pretty much ever
Tosh and the doctor Ariel have both good and bad endings depending on yohr choice in the game
Pls play the game you get barely any story just on the cuscenes
