- Police moved protesters out of an encampment at the University of Wisconsin. The operation came after campus police gave protesters 15 minutes to remove their tents, according to the student newspaper The Daily Cardinal.

I find it incredibly upsetting that there's so much coverage of the campus protests, but not the genocide they are protesting. It's irresponsible journalism pandering to an apathetic audience.

Police removed all but one tent while clashing with the demonstrators. But scores of protesters resumed chanting and, a few hours later, had erected more tents on the square.

3:50 p.m. update: UWPD is sharing preliminary arrest numbers. A total of 34 people were arrested this morning. A majority of those arrested were released with no citation issued. Of those arrested, four were booked into the Dane County Jail on the following offenses.

Caleb A. Brown: Attempted disarming a police officer and resisting arrest (x2)
Leo A. Randle (UW affiliated): Battery to a police officer
Karl M. Schultz: Battery to a police officer and resisting arrest

as a uw-madison 2000 alum i attended many protests in my day but i never harassed other students in the process. it's sad this had to happen but it is what it is.

Agree with the peaceful protesters or not, their freedom to do so is one of the many things I treasure here in America. We must protect and hold that right sacred. 💙 This does not apply to "outside agitators".

Outside agitators were hired last night to attack students in LA. The students have it on film. It has been happening in smaller confrontations for days. Last night was escalated. There is a boxing gym owner who has been spitting on protestors and calling them the N word during the day, and the student protestors do not react to him. He is not a student. In his group is a blond woman who tells the students to go get sexually assaulted. She has also been identified. The students do not react to her, either. Police and counter protestors try to stop the protestors from receiving their water, food, and medical supplies from reaching their encampments. That sounds overly familiar to the students who are protesting against a besieged and occupied people facing genocide.
What about "outside" folk who show up in support and solidarity? Gonna tag them Troublemakers?

Responding to protestors with police aggression, will only make the protests bigger and more angry, by encouraging more people to join the protests.

Well, I'm not going to say "all" but in most cases the schools have tried to negotiate with the protestors. You won't see that on the news because it's not very exciting.
The flipside of your coin, is when protestors get violent and destructive, it reduces the number of people willing to join the overall protests. We're talking about a lot of schools, multiple groups, over time, so things run the whole gamut.
Just like arresting shoplifters will only increase shoplifting? Like kind of idiotic democrat party logic?
Why aren't we hearing from Republicans that, you know, if you didn't know this footage is from a protest it would just look like a normal tourist visit. Students just on a campus tour maybe.
