It's like the old Waylon line, "if we could all sound like we wanted to/we'd all sound like George Jones."

Charlie is such a talented guitar player, singer and songwriter. If the world was fair, Blackberry Smoke would be one of the best known bands out there. I wish them much well deserved success. Thanks for the interview, Otis.

They are very successful just not ''wearing the monkey suit'' as Charlie put it at city winery NYC.
I wouldn't wish mainstream fame on my worst enemy .

My mother loved George and my sister and i have carried that on. When I was a little girl I remember being in the car and a George song came on and she was singing with all her might, when it was over she looked at me and said now that is the only man I would ever leave your daddy for. Scared me to death I thought she was gonna leave my daddy. They were married 49 years, a picture of me without you was her favorite song.

Otis, you should do a deep dive on that entertainment complex he mentioned. George even built a house there, because he was planning to retire there. They had a couple of music festivals. It got crazy! Illegal gambling was the downfall. A lot of people went to prison.
