Just like Charlie said he saw Rick and Leslie playing a junior and wanted one too, I saw Charlie Starr playing his black junior and I've been playing mine ever since! Thanks for getting me excited about playing guitar, Charlie! It has enriched my life and is so much fun I could just play the guitar all day long... I'm looking forward to the concert in Munich this year. Kind regards, Chris
Just found this channel and im subbing. First I wanna pay my respects to Brit .....The Smokes drummer passed away a few days ago and the BBS family is really hurting and needs everyones prayers . RIP Brit .
Cool interview. New stories. So relaxed it's like we're in Charlie's house sitting on a chair in the corner just watching and listening. Thanks Kylie Olsson. Much appreciated from France.
@@KylieOlsson Well thank YOU. Wow to hold those guitars in your hand. To be in Charlie's house. Sincerely, it was a great interview and I was just sitting there on the couch watching. Will see them 3 times in the fall in Europe in concert. Merci again, it was a window into the BBS world. Best, Linda
Love Charlie's guitar style, no over distorted shredding, just great tone and feel. Hits the sweet spot, just as his vocals have the perfect mix of country, blues and rock. He loves all the rock bands i like , who mentions the Georgia Satellites these days, i still have their first three albums. I discovered Blackberry Smoke in 2015 when my mate, who had RUclips on his TV, rang me up and said get round here, there's a documentary about a band i know you will love. He was right, love this band.
Great band and great dudes. Paul is also a very laid back guy and super nice. I’ve been watching these guys since late 2000’s when I saw them at a festival in lower Alabama on a little side stage. I was rooting for them to make it and tearfully for all of us music lovers they did.
Can't say enough about BBS and Charlie is so gracious, Signed my southern rock Las Paul one night in Douglas Georgia. Paul signed it too but you can't read his writing. Thanks guys, going to see you again in Douglas next month both nights and also two night at the Ryman in June. After thoes 2 we will have seen the 81 times.
I always kick myself as I was emailing with him a while back about doing an interview as I was going to be in NY but in the end i couldn't make it out to where he lived so the interview never happened... gutted
I’ve got a 1957 ES125T with a P90 that sounds like nirvana through my 1937 Gibson EH150 amp plugged into the mic input and turned up to about 7. I don’t tour with it but I can’t wait to get home to it. Every single time. Just punchy warm a hugely musical.
I have a clear body Les Paul style guitar. The reason i fell in love with clear body guitars was from Joe Perry playing one. My cousin's uncle from her stepdad was ronnie Stewart, he was the original drummer for the Joe Perry project. It was my first cooncert. When i was 9 year's old, got to meet Joe back in 1982. I'll always be a Les Paul and SG player. But wouldn't mind having one of those though in my collection
The History behind all these instruments,😍 , these are very emotional pulling on my own feelings, and I don't even play , but we all have memory's about all these musicians. Thank you for all this effort you go to. (I guess I'm going to subscribe now.)
Mark Agnesi demoed a Dan Armstrong on Norms channel. Showed how the pick up swapped out. There are/were various pickups available. Joe Perry also a user of that guitar. The Everley is J-180 with dual guard and star inlays. Yet another Keith guitar. Charlie is on Gibson TV running thro his guitars
Great interview...Blackberry Smoke have been my favorite for years, what a great band and awesome humans...I was at that Beacon show with Leslie West...there is a video on RUclips
Yes...and like most of the Brothers and Sisters at that show, we knew...it was a special time and Leslie was loving it...he sounded and played like he was in his prime although he was in a wheelchair...great connection to what it must have been like to see Mountain @@KylieOlsson
I love me some Blackberry Smoke! They are excellent live. It also excites me that Charlie is also a big fan of Tom Keifer and Billy Gibbons. Tom is such an underrated guitar player.
I'm 60 years old and play guitar as a hobby cause I lack the talent but still love playing. I always thought I wanted to be Jimmy Page till I saw Charlie Starr couple times and now he is the person I wish I was from a guitar player stand point. Such a talent, a gentleman and looks like he is enjoying every moment performing.
They are all up on their website and app now... they have already aired at a specific time so think they are just airing at random times now. Although there is a date in March (whichI will find out) where they do a big LISS marathon
The Satellites played at Hedgens in Buckhead every Monday night for about a year. They were known for taking long breaks between sets, the back parking lot was a great place to hang out, ended up sleeping in my old Chevy van out there many a night because I was too high to drive home to L5P. Dan Baird is a great guitar player also.

Charlie Starr is a hell of a talent...
Blackberry Smoke is one of my favorite bands and they sing some of the best songs to play bonus room guitar to.
Charlie reminds me a lot of my favorite, and best of all time imo, Tom Petty…very humble, funny, great songwriter and musician

I HATE that picture of Mick Jagger, but I love Charlie!
Everyone who knows, knows charlie is the real deal!! 2 in the pink…
What would Paul Reed Smith think of this plastic guitar.
Rawk!!
I had a Dan Armstrong back in the early 70's and thought it sucked!! It had lousy sustain and the sound would just die.
This is fucking awesome, but I got shit to do, Cyrus.
Been into the band along time and love em!!… gotta say this new album is alittle disappointing… oh well
Is there a tighter more talented, more disciplined band in existence?
I actually don't think so!
The Buddha heads are silent.
Those clear lucite are heavy as hell, very cool though
