Dude, it's so funny; not only do I feel your pain ("can't believe I'm ranting about a pencil sharpener," etc.), but I WATCHED THE WHOLE VID in rapt attention (because I've been using one of these guys for several years now, and, yes, you are not crazy, it IS that awesome of a pencil sharpener)... Anyway... ONLY REASON I LOOKED UP VIDS for this sharpener was to see if I was alone at NEVER getting the damned "mounting bracket" to work, and was gratified to see that, no, I am not a frigging idiot, the thing bracket is just an astonishingly terrible implementation of what should be a basically super easy feature to design... which is made even more crazy because (like you demonstrated), this is like, the greatest feat of engineering that I've experienced in terms of pencil sharpening. So cheers mate and thanks for the vid!
Also available from Classroom Friendly Supplies dot com. Procedure:Remove the handle/cutter assembly.Protect your left hand with a glove, rag or something similar, and hold the cutter firmly in the left hand. With the right hand, turn the handle counterclockwise and lift it off.Remove the plastic/metal piece, thus leaving the cutter assembly.Reinstallation is exactly the reverse. If you're left handed, make the necessary modifications to the procedure. The cutter blades are so called for a reason: they're SHARP!!Classroom Friendly Supplies has videos of this, minus the hand protection.

Great review! I read on amazon that the cutter assembly can be changed when/if it gets dull. They sell both on amazon.
