Oh yes by the way, we learn English, French and German, sometimes already on primary school, and Spanish is also possible. And ofcourse we're very intelligent people 😉🤣🤣 another tip, Davina Michelle with the song Het duurt te lang. (It takes to long 😊) also from de beste zangers.
Yeah indeed! We learn English, German and French at school in the Netherlands. And some people also learn Spanish, Greek and/or Latin in Highschool.
Monique's right. Please do "Duurt te Lang"
Too long 😉
@@bertsplci oh ja! 😊
The Netherlands has the highest percentage of people worldwide (non English speaking) who can speak English in someway comfortably. From what I understand it is over 90%. 96% of the people are bilingual. This does to some extent explain why many artist perform in more than one language. Again great reaction!
Belgium as well..
Golden earing radar love 😍😍😍
Carmen is an opera from French composer George Bizet and its lead role is one of the big female opera roles. Davina sings it in a straight style at first almost in the style of French chansons.
Davina is amazing
Me too, I think low registers for women sounds so good. Davina Michelle is a master in it. The controll she has 😍😘
She is one of a kind ❤️
Love Davina and i Love your reactions!
So realy good.
She is super talented
No, she doesn’t speak French. We all know some, because we get some in high school and it’s the favorite holiday country for the Dutch. I can hear from her pronunciation that she just learned the words, respect thought and great fun.
She could be on Broadway... a big big star. Come to America, please!
She already walked on that road.. America rejected her….. just like Glennis Grace 😉
Didn’t I buy furniture from you many years ago?
@@RvW1985 She is better now.
@@THSeaNotes I don’t think you bought any furniture from me because I never sold any 😉 davina always was great… she went to the states after pink discovered her… not that long ago actually…
A bit of an insight in the Dutch speaking multiple languages:
The Dutch have always been a seafaring nation and we were and are trading all over the worls since the sixteen-hundreds. But there aren't many people in the world speaking Dutch! For trade you need communication so early on people started to speak multiple languages. Given that our neighbor countries are speaking German, French and English, those languages where the most obvious choices. Nowadays for the very same reasons many choose to learn to speak other languages too: e.g. Spanish, Russian, Japanese, Chinese and so on. On top of that in classical music Italian is a must.
And yeah it's pretty handy to be able to make your choice from any music in the world if you are multilingual.
From the opera 'Carmen' (composer: Bizet) the 'Habanera' is the most famous and well known song. Quite a challenge for a not classical trained singer. Davina definitely did a fantastic job.
This is magic.
At school we learn Dutch, English, French and German for 4 years. Greeting from the Netherlands
I am Dutch and lived in The Netherlands for 35 years, but now since 11 years we live in Austria and my father is American. My son is 5 and even though he can not separate the 3 languages perfectly he already speaks 3 languages. He prefers English (picks that up from TV and YT), we speak Dutch with him and everyone around us speaks German (with a thick Tyrol dialect). If they are exposed young they pick up languages very quickly.
This is exactly how it goes in the Netherlands, we learn those languages at an early stage and are always interested in learning more...
I love this one so much! I think I've watched this Beste zangers video the most of all those Video's!
Carmen is an opera!
This is from classic opera...I think Carmen, but I'm not a real opera buff at all....THIS IS AMAZING !!!!
I love this!! Carmen is a French Opera about a firey Spanish gypsy named Carmen who seduces a naive soldier Don Jose. It’s a tragic love story. But is very well known as well for its music. She beautifully did this! Makes you want to tango. 💜
Davina is Carmen 😉
Another magical moment at BZ.
Today has been full of them, the only thing that worries me, is doing so many in one day, we will run out of reactions and songs too soon.
A sad thought to me - but in the meantime, I am absolutely Loving them all.
Such talents should never be allowed all in one room, and this show should be a major prime time TV moment around the globe.
Think how happy the world would be then - world peace could even break out.
Oh well, I can dream can't I?
I don't understand why the concept of this show/program is only being done in the Netherlands and Belgium (and I also believe they did a season in Germany).
This could be amazing worldwide.
I don't see why certain networks don't pick up on that.
I mean, same thing happened with Got Talent, Idols, The Voice. Why not something as amazing as this indeed?
@@bornwithoutconsentobviously …and in Denmark. Versions of Beste Zangers are/were done in Norway, Finland, Estonia, Lithuania, Switserland, France and the UK
@@ingridwatsup9671 okay I didnt know that. That's nice.
@@ingridwatsup9671 No version of BZ ever done in the UK.
Only crap with judging panels, stuff like BZ would never get on air here.
I mean, no cocky know all presenters, no absolutely no hopers wheeled out to make fun of, by the interchangeable panel members from all the shows.
Prime time TV here is the pits and has been for years.
Like Radio 1 for the eyeballs.
Excruciating drivel.
Carmen is an opera from Bizet. If you don’t listen to this genre but you stil recognize the melodie? Sometimes it’s used in commercials. Original it’s in French. In the opera, Carmen dances and flirts with the man. It’s a beautiful opera🥰
This song is from the opera Carmen and Davina is doing a fantastic job 🌷🌷🌷
Carmen is an opera
Most spoken second or third or more spoken languages in the Netherlands 90% speaks English 71% German 29% French and I know many who speak Spanish and also we have many Groups like Turkish, Moroccan, Suriname, Indonesian, Chinese, African and we have some parts in the Netherlands where they speak their own dialect. I myself met many Slavic/East European people in all parts of the Netherlands because of my work, I know Chinese is popular to learn as a language and there are about 250,000 Polish people in the Netherlands who work here, but also buy houses to stay. Many tourists from Germany, we love them! So many spoken languages in the Netherlands and if you do not always understand the language like I do in the Supermarket in Friesland as a North Hollander 100% of the Frisians speak Dutch and I think 95% English. In Amsterdam and some big cities, the language is widely English also in the shops, and it's harder to speak only Dutch. One very important thing from history is that we always saw any film, program, or show in the language it was on TV and we Dutch had to learn fast reading the subtitles, as a kid this was hard because You were not able to read so fast, but after you did learn this its the easiest thing we do now, and always hear the real voices and not like all other countries Europe with a voice from their own country. That gives us some advantage against other countries during trading because we switch to English, German, or French. I myself as a Dutch speak and write English but spoken is German my second. I did business with Germany almost all my life..Great Guys! Really always on time, what we agreed was 100% these are guys you can do business with! Soccer/football is something else :):) with them!
Not everyone here in the Netherlands is fluent in every language, Dutch and English works for most Dutchies but i forgot most French and German lessons. And we are good in faking until you make it. Watch Tim Akkerman singing in spanish for Rolf on beste zangers and his duet with Samantha. They all make some fun about his language but respect the effort and commitment! They all found it quite a thing to sing for a native spanish singer...
It's so amazing to see how much she has grown from being a talented girl singing cover songs on RUclips to now being a well known talented singing woman globally pretty much.
She has definitely grown so much as a person and as an artist.
Proud to be Dutch whenever I hear and see the amazing Davina.
It's because we in the Netherlands start learning English starting age 7, in high school we get another (german/French) and there are options to learn mandarin, Spanish and Greek.
My kids even started English at age 4.
@@yvkon yeah my son to. I meant when I was young we started age 7. Nowadays even earlier. Also with help from yt. My 3yo already counts in Dutch and English till 10
I like how she sang it in her own lower register instead of trying to do all the highest notes, the original is sung in a higher register and is amazing but it works just as well in a lower key.
The Opera Carmen was written by Georges Bizet and is easily my favorite Opera, great story of love and betrayal, a powerful lead character, passion.. it has it all.. on top of some of the most famous arias in Opera history.
If you are going to check it out, go for the full production in French, that is one of the best version you can find on here. (Full production as in, the big all out show with countless extras on stage and actual stage sets)
In this case.. i even suggest watching the entire Opera, such a great story.
Do you have a link?
@@merthemarijberkhout3814 Sure, several actually.
My two favorite productions are in part here on RUclips, the first is a short clip, not the whole song sadly but it is great : ruclips.net/video/KJ_HHRJf0xg/видео.html
The second is of a larger production and is the entire song with subtitles : ruclips.net/video/K2snTkaD64U/видео.html
And the entire production, albeit not my favorite (still good) because the other two i linked, dont have full productions uploaded sadly. : ruclips.net/video/zTDMvyj4TFg/видео.html
Enjoy :)
♥️I can't get enough of your joy and surprise when you find another Dutch gold, it's like searching for treasures.. and then you find a hidden gem
In middle school we all get french german and english in Holland. Well…. we used to when i was younger 😉. Don’t know about now 😄
Yup, and in some instances they added spanish, greek and latin too, gotta love the Netherlands
Yes they stil do and if you going to the Gymnasium then you get Greek and Latin to.
“Who is this Carmen?” 😂😂😂
DAVINA MICHELLE WAS #1 SONG IN THE NETHERLANDS.. IT'S A RAP SONG!!! PLEASE REACT TO IT...
DAVINA MICHELLE "DUURT TE LANG"..
Of course it's different than here in America but it just makes her even more Friggin adorable..
We learn English, German and french in school
In the Netherlands we learn Dutch, German, English and French at school, and in higher education we also learn Latin or Chinese. And Carmen is a very famous musical!!
Sorry, it's an opera and Musical
Chinese? Latin or Greek In think? Of course you can choose Chinese in some schools as well
"Carmen" is the name of an opera (originally an opéra comique) in four acts by the composer Georges Bizet (1838-1875). The libretto was written by Henri Meilhac and Ludovic Halévy, based on a novella by Prosper Mérimée. The first performance took place in Paris (Opéra-Comique) on March 3, 1875.
Carmen is an opera composed by Georges Bizet, it is the name of the main player, a femme fatale.
The opera is situated in Spain. Carmen works in a tobacco processing factory. She is a beauty and flirts and plays with the feelings of men, who circle her like moths to a flame. Some are damaged, some luckily escape, some go up in flames.
Of course this dangerous game has it's victims...
Well known parts are: Ouverture, Habanera, and March of the Torreador.

So, as everybody said, we are multi-lingual…but the lyrics are also shown right behind the couch…that why you sometimes spot them watching up slightly
Oh, and these are Dutch singers primarily. But since they live near Middle Europe eventhou they are Northern Europeans, they know French, German ,Swedish, Norway, Italian from young age.
Don't exxagerate! I know very few people in the Netherlands speaking Swedish, Norwegian and Italian. I learned English and German fluently, a bit of French and as a hobby a bit of Swedish.
@@ronaldderooij1774 That's not my problem you don't know them. I do need to correct 1thing on that comment. It was meant to read that Floor can speak those languages. That's a fact. Wasn't trying to say every Dutch speak those languages.
♡♡♡
It's the most famous aria from the opera "Carmen" compose by Georges Bizet.
Opera Carmen - Bizet
In school we learn English, German and French.. some people got other options as Latin.
….and Dutch
Sometimes also greek😉
@@ingridwatsup9671 the hardest one of all haha!
Please watch davina michelle girl just want to have fun!! It's beautiful ❤♥
Where dutch we speak every language❤️😂
There are three languages they teach the first year at middle high school. English, french and german. (at lower level educations., pe technical schools, it is only english)
Carmen is a opera from Bizet (composer) If you have the change, go and watch it somewhere. It's so beautiful! Davina can sing everything! I have a few requests:
Another great dutch band, Racoon with the song love you more, live at concert at the sea 2019. Waylon and Ilse the Lange with the song Calm after the storm, eurovision 2014. And a very young girl who won the Voice, Sophia Kruithof, her blind audition. Such a beautiful and pure Child. And oufcourse Yebba with my mind, live in New York 😊
Lots of hits from operas are used - or the tunes - in commercials. So eventhough you think you don't know classical tunes you know more then you realise. :-) Many years ago I bought a cd with songs you might know but you don't realise - classical tunes - and indeed most of them I knew. Mostly from commercials, tv shows or movies.
In the Netherlands kids are taught English in Elementary school and German and French in High school, so everybody has basic knowledge and pronunciation of these languages, which makes it easy to learn the songs
About all the dutchies being bi- tri- or even quad-lingual. The dutch kids start speaking english in primary school. In highschool most kids will get classes in either French, German or both.
On top of that, as its only a 8-12h drive to southern europe, its common for us Dutchies te spend summer holiday in France, Portugal, Italy and because of our kind nature, we'll teach ourselves some basics of the language so we're able to order in a restaurant or ask for directions when we're on holiday.
Mr H you don't know Carmen?
Tut tut, your halo has just slipped a notch.😄😄
Dutchies are good with many languages 😂 we travel a lot through europe and learn english from the age of 4. I live at the german border, that’s no problem either 😬
we Dutch speak an average of 3 languages including our own
The thing with the languages.... Well, America, one big country, everybody speak basically the same language (more or less accented), so I believe most people won't even think of learning another language.
Here in Europe it is a bit different: lots of different countries and everybody speak their own language, so in order to make ourselves understood - or e.g. take part in a beautiful YT community - we simply have to learn other languages. I myself speak/understand 5 of them.
It's from the opera Carmen by composer Bizet.
In regard to the multilingualism in the Netherlands, it's getting less than it was unfortunately. I still speak English, German French and Spanish but the younger generation sticks to English only as foreign language. However the youngest generation is looking into speaking Mandarin Chinese. Reason for the multilingualism could be that the Dutch from history are traders people and to trade knowing other man's language makes it easier (and more profitable).
Looks like WE Dutch are very special people, we can do anything.
In Dutch higher secondary education you need to do exams in at least two foreign languages. One is English, the other German of sometimes French. At some schools you can do Spanish, Latin and classical Greec as well. But by far most will learn English and German or French.
In the netherlands we learn
French german and english in school
Mantap dude
Probably you know the tune off Carmen Pepsi commercial (Beyoncé did that commercial)
..Bi- or trilingual must be prerequisite. My dear sir, welcome to the Netherlands. Most of us speak Dutch (obviously) and English on a high level. And we have at least a basic understanding of French and German. It has something to do with the background of being a merchant nation and you know customer's love it when you speak their language😁
To add to my last comment, when my kids had these subjects in school I would speak a mix of German, French, English and Dutch at home, to train them and myself😉. Ah yes, fun times🤣🤣🤣. Also fun is to watch a Disney movie in a foreign language, with subs in your native language. You do learn a lot that way.
Precies: merchant nation !
Please try also Caro Emerald A Night Like This. You must see this.
Who is Carmen - Habanera you asked, Carmen, the role Maria Fiselier really wants to play. English subs ruclips.net/video/K2snTkaD64U/видео.html or this one ruclips.net/video/KJ_HHRJf0xg/видео.html
You heard and saw Maria singing and acting, what do you think, can she sing and play the part of Carmen?
💖Davina Michelle💖 no more to say.
You really should react to Violet Orlandi covering -Take Me To Church cover.
She does also many other songs. Listen to your heart is freaking amazing video. That song Violet does with Leo Moracchioli. That Norwegian guy is also someone you want to react a lot. He takes original Hit songs like Adele's Hello, -Your in the army now song's and makes those he's own. Gives proper metal breakdown. Leo can play Bass, guitar(very well), drums and sing. Dance Monkey song, and -Toto's Africa are very good also. P,s check Leo Moracchioli and Violet Orlandi. Both.
❤️🇳🇱
Maria Fiselier sings two songs on this show. one in italian one in french. could you react to those.
In the Netherlands its is normal to speak Dutch and Englisch , German or French in High school

Her french prenounciation is actually not so good, e.g. her "r" is a dutch "r" (front tongue r) and not a french "r" (back tongue r). Still she sings very good.
I saw a comment of a frenchman who thought she has got the sexiest accent.
Her R's are not quite what they sound like in French. They roll more like they would in languages like Spanish. French is not like that.
wy nedelanders speak al more than one , and its a opera not a musicul.
