Irma Thomas turns 80, talks to WWL-TV

Grammy-award-winning singer Irma Thomas is turning 80, but you'd never know that by looking at her or hearing her sing.
She has been performing for seven decades and says she has no plans to slow down anytime soon.

Wow! I found Miss Thomas' beautiful music through researching the Philly Cream Cheese commercial because I could not get the tune/song out of my head. I am a musical child of the 60's and cannot believe I never knew Miss Thomas' before. I am purchasing her songs! Blessings Miss Thomas.

I listen to all kinds of classic songs especially the soul queens who started it first I did my home work..... she's from New Orleans .....every since they mixed her voice with that cute commercial Philly cheese spread Her face has been circulating all around my You tube music page.....I was like Oh my god I had no ideal this was Irma Thomas all this time right in My face......I'm so in love with that commercial the one with the persian cat.....LOL .....and she's still alive and still singing...She said she lost so much in her life but she never lost her voice and that's a blessing....
