This is awesome and I used your video to upgrade my son’s jeep. Given the time since you did your upgrade, have you found the higher voltage cause any issues with the motors assuming they’re rated for 12v ? I found motors I can eventually upgrade to for 18v but curious how long it may take
Zero issues and it’s used weekly
I tried to do this with a kid trax kia soul but no go...
I did a 12 volt 4 amp hour I believe. And then the 18 volt from and Makita drill. I ran alligator clips and wires through maybe the wires were too small of a gauge
However when I plug the original battery back in because I thought it was completely shot I did get energy from then but it was low energy even though the battery was fully charged. I have noticed that I had to resolder one of the Motors to get that wheel working. The only thing I can think of is since they're cheaply built is to go through and restart everything.

I will also be doing this for my daughter and only for my daughter not for myself at all.

Does the original charger still charge the new battery?
No. I use the Ryobi battery charger
How long will the battery last?
I’ve had zero issues since this day and my son uses it weekly
Do you still charge the battery using the toy car battery charger or do you have take out the Ryobi battery to charge by itself?
Have to take out the Ryobi battery. Which is even more convenient than having to charge because I always have fully charged spares laying around and it takes 1 screw and 10 seconds to swap

I remove the seat every time. It’s 1 Phillips screw.

At least double. So maybe 1 now
Don't use Dewalt batteries. The discharging circuitry is in the tools, not the battery. Will most likely kill the battery.

Should i upgrade to 30amp fuse so it wont keep tripping it after my son drives for a little bit? I upgraded from the small 12v to 18v ryobi battery
You risk breaking something more expensive like the motors or control board

I did this to both my sons power wheels and it chewed up the plastic gears in the motors. 😭
Yeah, I think that’s a problem with the older Power Wheels. I didn’t have any issues with it.
Would a Millwaukee M18 battery work ?
Yes it should
It’s going to eat the gearbox in no time… check for gearset upgrades if you decide to continue.

So I have an issue where the throttle is cutting out how can I fix that? I can't seem to find anything about it online.

@itsreallyjakub not sure it's the same little Lamborghini you have and it starts up like normal but the moment I push the pedal to go it just turns off. I changed the computer in the back and I just ordered new motors for the wheels.

I’m just happy that he’ll be happy. He’s already maxed out the Lambo and can go through any AutoX course I setup with pylons no problem. Needs a new challenge

It also separated the rubber from the wheels so I'm running plastic rims only
