fabulous video! I had all but given up on replacing the gasket until you showed me that I can actually (gently) move the pipe to fit the gasket in! Also, I have been to 3 stores and none of the 4 gaskets I bought were the correct one! Guess I will try to order this one online. tx a bunch, tricia

We went with a whole new overflow pipe but it was leaking a little. I turned the gasket around and tighten down the screws like you said to. Thank you for your video, it was very helpful. I was able to fix it myself. I added some plumbers grease to it. I don't know whether that was a good idea or not, time will tell- Amy

No. It is not needed when you replace overflow drain.

Myold tub drain two piece stop is not connected cant pull wire out from top.

get a coat hanger to try to fish out the stopper, or use a vacuum to try to suck it upward, otherwise, you'll have to open the wall, ceiling to replace the down tube assembly
