Your version of a lawful god,... could be Lawful Evil. Also, I'm sure this has been mentioned before but remember you can always mirror your map, and double your dyson map library.
Do you always run world shattering campaigns? What about just slightly tougher than the average group searching some ruins for loot?
Mike hasn't made the character any tougher or stronger than standard ShadowDark characters. Mike just likes high stakes (world shattering) campaigns.
